Then the complete loss without them. But also that feeling of feeling bad for the people who can love you and watch you cycle again.
is it easy to get a bpd diagnosis? my relationships have all gone the same way and im sick of hurting people. or maybe how do you deal with it? @jorb1903 @littlebodybigheart357
I think he believes what you said and yet I'm still here for him, he's terrible for what he's done to me yet I'm still here for him and I accepted everything about him and it makes me love him and care for him so much more because I love the person he is even with his flaws.
“I’m sorry I’m the one you love.” My heart was just torn in two in front of my eyes and shoved into a paper shredder. My god, the way she can sing and write so beautifully. It’s like when you’re in a relationship with someone so good and wonderful, but you know you can’t keep up. At some point it feels like you’re taking advantage of their love. They’re so perfect to you, but you aren’t for them.
"No one will ever love me like you again So when you leave me I should die I deserve it, don’t I?" This line pierced my heart in ways I've never felt before.
Damn this song really cut deep. It has such a dark brooding energy that I'm absolutely in love with. I love the sounds of the dogs barking halfway through to add a sinister atmosphere. Mitski really outdid herself with this one.
There's a line in a song called Poison by Luxh which goes "I have been on either side of letting someone down and I don't know which one's worse" I know what it's like when a men lets you down and so I can compare it to my own actions now and say "I betray you like a man"
The lyrics of this sort of sounds like a letter to her fans, specifically with the lines "you believe me like a god" and "I destroy you like I am". It makes me think of the pedestal that people often put artists, specifically Mitski, on, saying things like "I can't believe Mitski invented music", putting her, even jokingly, on a pedestal and as a symbol, like a god. But then, "I destroy you like I am", and "one day you'll figure me out", sort of makes me think of realizing that there is a person behind this art, and that possibly making it less special, less highly regarded, and how some people, once they get over the image of an artist, move on. Overall I think this song is a commentary of how fans put artists on unrealistic pedestals but once they realize that this idol is simply a person, with flaws and a life, the mystic they had of their music and of this person dissipates, and they leave.
this song made me think from the lyricism is it’s about taking advantage of the kindness your lover is giving you. from them believing her like god and her betraying them like a man could mean she lets them down and meets their judgement at the end of the day. “when you leave me i should die” maybe she loves them just as much and knows they’ll leave her for her mistakes but she’ll just accept the consequences :{

From my perspective, this song is about a toxic relationship, a person who has anxious attachment and another who has a superiority complex precisely because of him, which is why the phrases "or you're my dog and I'm your man" and "you believed me as a god"
The person singing this song is the ‘losing dog’ that the person in the other song bets on. It’s like these two are in a toxic relationship but keep coming back to each other even if they know it’s unhealthy.
this fucking song. you know it’s gonna hurt when mitski mentions dogs and you know it’s gonna destroy you when she involves god in it too. it’s brutal. it’s aggressive. she says ‘or you’re a dog and i’m your man’ but she says it in a dog-like manner. she says she’s your man but you hear it being said in the most vulnerable way a man could never understand. no man could ever understand. she says everything with 16 lines, while those 16 lines say nothing. nobody could ever understand but somehow we all do. somehow she says you’re a god but we can hear her being man. god, i don’t think i ever understood something more.
No sé cómo hace Mitski para describir a la perfección como me estoy sintiendo, además de eso, me encantan los detalles de la canción (los sonidos de fondo al final), es simplemente hermosa😭😭
I saw a dead cat by the road in the middle of the night while driving listening to this song and it really clicked for me, this song now represents the cat and the family looking for it in the morning. It was such a poignant image at that moment for me
This is my favorite song from the album. The climax leading to the end of your song is hauntingly beautiful. Thank you Mitski! I also read Fourth Wing while listening to this album. This song and the heavy snow falling while Xaden and Violet look at each other was a perfect soundtrack to my mind.

This song is so beautiful. When I listened to it for the first time, it reminded me of my dogs, Shadow, Lola, and Niko. Shadow has passed many years ago and I miss him so much. the other two I'm not able to see anymore, but I hope I can soon. They've treated me so well, and never stopping showing love after so many years. This song made me think of a relationship with a dog, how they love you no matter what, and never leave your side. And how they're the "man's best friend". When she sings "you believe me like a God, and I destroy you like I am" it makes me think of how unconditional a dogs love is, and how many people don't appreciate that while they have it. when she says, "im sorry im the one you love" it makes me think of how an owner might take a dogs love for granted. There's so much more I could break down and say about this masterpiece, but I'll leave that for you all to interpret. I just wanted to share some thoughts. I was in a relationship that perfectly describes this song. This girl and I were madly inlove, but things took a turn. Her love became obsessive, borderline worship, and I became distant, neglecting her. I destroyed her sense of being and longing, I killed her soul. The burden still lives with me. "So when you leave me, I should die" I reasonate with this lyric a lot, it hits my soul like dopamine. Ever since we've parted, I feel guilty for what I did and I live with this guilt almost every day. She was an angel, I'm a dog.
