You and the boys really let it rip on this one Lucinda, thanks for sharing your gift with us.Heres hoping you bring yourself and your band back to New Haven or anywhere close as soon as possible.
....am amazed how anyone cn remember all the words, saw her once at the Fly ny Night Club, she was younger n so was I, she was surrounded by good musicians, the American real deal when it comes to music n how many times would you have to listen to that song to remember it, thats amazing n yeah, women cover Dyans songs better....
Michael McLoughlin I'd never heard this rendition of the song before. It's impressive. I guess many of us have been through this. To make others feel it takes a special talent
Wow! Not many singers have the gravity to handle Dylan. Lucinda does! The song is of course absolutely crushing. It can crush anyone under its weight. But strong Lucinda holds it up!
Wow and wow again! I am no longer surprised by Lu's magical interpretations. When she chooses a song, she owns it. This one is no exception. And as always, WATCHING her sing is a big part of the magic, for her expressions and body language are perfect. Another Dylan song I think she would turn into a Lucinda masterpiece is "To Make You Feel My Love." One can hope.............. Whoa! I just found a video of her doing that song. Even as I should be surprised, I'm really not. Of course, you were already on top of this, and I have already enjoyed it in your world. But I shall go there again............and again.............and................. Gotta go listen to it after I make the rounds of Blythe Spirit's world again. As always, Blythe, thank you. The last several weeks have been kind of crazy, but things should be getting back to normal soon. Tonight with Lu was a good re-beginning.
Excellent and passionate...just what Dylan would like...you are outstanding at interpreting and feel of Dylan's lyrics, done so well I don't which one I like better, so I will call it great.
Goodness! I know I’ve asked before, but I can’t find where I did so. So can’t find your answer. But are these Dylan covers available on cd and/or download? Or whatever?
Yes they are available on vinyl and/or CD. If you want to know how to get the song, please just tap on the white area with title like Lucinda Williams Idiot Wind. That takes you to the description of the video and will tell you how you can purchase it. I hope this is helpful. If not I will send you the direct link.💕 stores.portmerch.com/lucindawilliams
This is from December, 2018. Lucinda was invited to perform at The Library of Congress in Washington D.C., and sang “Master’s of War“ with Charles Lloyd and the Marvels, accompanying her. Initially the microphone needed to be adjusted, and was. I hope you enjoy it. It’s currently the only live performance I have of her singing “Master’s of War”.
@@blythespirit4077 i filmed Lucinda at 2 shows at Kessler Theater in Dallas 4/18,19/16 I cant upload them. They are on small discs used in a Sony Handycam.
@Robert - Hi Robert. I just wanted to share this with you. The woman is the singer-songwriter, Lucinda Williams, who is 69 years old. One of her musical heroes is Bob Dylan, who is pictured in the background as a young man. He is currently 81 years old. Thank you for your comment💕.
Nice Cover... I think he was rather uptight in the early 70s... Happy Birthday Bob... Love is Multidimensional ... It's a Song about separation. He tends to overlook frequently, the fact that he is Treated rather nicely by most people. Many people are not. The song following that is interesting as well. The entire Album is a Gem. Many of those 70s compositions express Ambivalence & Paradox. I think the 70s were for him a Sociology experiment? Obviously, whatever he was doing must have upset Sarah? ...... Lucinda, very beautiful Cover. Give my regards also to Iris Dement, should you cross paths? Love her vocals. ❤ Bus to Baton Rouge; Howling at Midnight; Wild & Blue; Metal Fire Cracker; Blue; Song For You; Maria... all Magnificent compositions & Sweetly performed... xo

One of the greatest songs covered by one of the greatest artists. She adds emotion to everything she sings!

Lucinda is ideally suited for Dylan's songs, especially those this one.
This succeeded in really making me want to hear Dylan doing it. The genius lyrics are amongst the best ever written for any song.

@Michael Dodd - So true!💕
IDK.. Sounds like she is imitating Dylan? I love them both but when Dylan sings this he rips hearts out..
Discovered this chick through the true detective tv serial movie, very glad I did
Wonderful surprise after having Dylan's version in my head for days. Thank you!

I know all the words this song but when I sing it I don’t know the order.
Lol! You just need to keep throwing the word idiot in there repeatedly 😉💕

I can’t help it if I’m lucky
Also “ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER”

She sings the song like Dylan did. She does a good job but in my opinion she should have given a more personal interpretation.
She’s a blues girl

Lucinda is the female equivalent to Townes Van Zandt
How cool. A 70 some yr old woman has a framed picture of a 20 yr old

Why do women sing Dylan's songs so much better than men?
They don’t.
Like to see her do “KNOCK KNOCKING ON HEAVENS DOOR”
No
