They’re an awesome car but too expensive to run these days as a daily imo, mine would easily drink 18L/100km around town, so I swapped it for a DC2 R. The 1JZ is a masterpiece, but the R154 box is agricultural and they’re ever so slightly boaty. Arcing up 255’s in 3rd with ease is a lot of fun though. Have you driven an E39 M5? I’d be interested in your thoughts vs the JZX.
Goodness yeah an old turbo car isn't gonna spell great economy but I didn't think it would be that bad! And yet got a DC2R review coming soon, and I'd love to do an E39 M5 review but don't know anyone with one
@@jordanlim3490 I went to rotationals last meets and there were about 6-7 chasers including my tourer s out of hundreds of people so they aren’t that common. I drive my chaser around everyday and I have seen a total of 3 other chasers on the road in 2 months
I have a 1994 Toyota chaser jzx90 tour v that I purchased recently and it's great fun to drive cant wait for summer cruises with the sunroof open on the chaser
@@KiwiCarLife Definitely a very practical JDM car… your review of the CM2 was the one that convinced me to finally go out and get a CM2 as my first car
Any chance you could do a review of a Mark X? There were 2.5s, 3.0s/3.5 (even supercharged) Close relatives of the IS/GS, and the last of the line for RWD Toyota sedans save for the Century.
They are starting to dip a little in value now in Australia. I suspect the gap in what people are advertising them for and what they are selling for is starting to widen. They are not as highly regarded as the 'true' JDM 90's hero's that the R32 GTR, Supra, FD RX7 represent.
Hey I know you drove a Toyota Blade before , have you got any experience with the Auris 1.8 ? (same body shape) they look pretty stealth and have the vvti motor with a 6 speed manual.
You lost me at Automatic, Kiwi. A mate of mine had one of these years back in manual, tuned up a bit too. I thought it went really well for the price but I wouldn’t pay even half of what people are asking for them these days. Seems like a jack of all trades, master of none to me. Unless of course you’re chasing really big power and side ways action.
@@KiwiCarLife I love preludes, almost bought one a little bit ago as a garage queen, love them, especially the atts one. Cool that you got to drive one! I have never even sat in one but I know almost every detail about it.
I like ye old chaser, wish I had bought one when I had the chance 4 years ago, that one had a non-turbo 2jz but oh well, I just wonder what insurance costs would be on these cars now for like agreed value and I would be terrified to leave it anywhere because it has a massive bullseye painted on it for thieves. I am becoming old and conservative these days... 🙄 It is a shame prices have gone crazy and I don't think it will get any better as they become more thrashed, destroyed and more rare. My favourite sounding car on your channel so far has been that black Euro R.. Absolutely Fantastic :P
Sounds stupid, but i recently drove a Tesla Model 3 for 4 days, Definitely wasn't expecting what it could do. Worth a note to put on your list as silly as it sounds.
Love my 1997 1jz chaser, had it as my daily since 2007 and it hasn't missed a beat. That 'upshift fart' noise is definitely a feature
Cool man!

I thought the stock Tourer V was good on gas are you sure your car doesn't have an issue that might be causing the horrible consumption?
@@Adrenadriven7 it's a 90s turbo car. Fuel economy ain't gonna be good
Don't remember the last time i seen one of these because they are so uncommon now
Yeah not too many around huh
go to an Auckland JDM car meet lol they are so common there

Honestly a great review man. Very concise which we love. Definitely made me miss my chaser back home
Thanks man!
Sounds like you're growing out of the 4cyl fwd, time to graduate into 6 cyl rwd.... You can pick up a 3.5 V6 Crown Athelete for 12k ish NZD
Mmm potentially...
His accord is much more capable than a boat like that
The crown is a good car. But it Is auto only, It has No Ratchet style handbrake. And is quite heavy
Slow auto and average handling….
@@thatpersiandude7386 yeah... It's a luxury car not a sports car. And auto only as you say
Wasn't expecting this. You got to drive my dream car. I'm jealous.
Mmm lovely vehicle
Hey mate , lovely video hoping to see a jzx110 mark 2 or Verossa review 😅 or a jzs171 crown
Cheers man and maybe

Thanks for vid mate. Awesome one. Keep it up.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This car is a lot more interesting than I thought… 😆 Still… being an owner myself that CM2 in the back still caught my eye 😏
Yeah that's his daily

Yeah that's true.... I don't think they're worth anywhere close to 50k personally
holy crap thats fast
Yeah mate it moves haha
Would love to take some photos of your chaser with mine!
Could line that up!

One could argue the same about the accord...
Who owned that Prelude you reviewed?
A fan of my channel, he's sold it to Honda NZ now and it's in their heritage collection. Will be going around all the dealers in due course
