True, most foreigners can't work in the Philippines currently but the Bureau of immigration announced in 2023 that a Digital Nomad Visa would be introduced(hopefully in early 2024), making it more feasible for savvy foreigners who figure out some form of fully remote work. Unfortunately that filters out a lot of foreigners still, as it takes a lot of work to get a fully remote job, or build a fully remote business... but still it's possible, and it makes a helluva lot more feasible
We don't believe that all filipinas are gold diggers. What we worry about is the Filipina's family having expectations from the foreigner and putting stress on our filipina partner demanding money from her just because she is with a foreigner.
Once you marry you will go backwards financially and her family will advance.She will send heaps of money back,take out a car loan for her family to buy a new car,fly them out to her atleast once a year.But you ask her family for money and the answer will be Oh no budget.
Fifteen years ago when I met my husband he started giving me a monthly salary to do whatever I wanted with. A person who expects a beautiful wife 30 years younger than them who busts her fanny for her husband and children for zero cost is delusional. I never bothered him about money because I had my own money to help my family with. He put my siblings through college so they are paying to support my parents now. He made that agreement with them and it has worked perfectly. Our own children are grown now so I am working full time and we are investing over $30k/year.

I made it possible for my husband to focus on work and not have one minute of his time spent on dishes, laundry, cooking, etc. He never changed a diaper. I homeschooled the children and they are both on full scholarships to college, worth over $25k each per year. That was a quarter million dollars in college educational benefits alone. My family helped us build the house in the Philippines, plus a sea wall and break water. In two typhoons our place did not have any damage at all and houses on either side of us were destroyed. This is also a great place to vacation but be aware that a round trip ticket will run around $3,000. Certain provinces generally have different skin colour so if you like white skin go to the manilas, if you like darker skin go to Cebu, if you like beach life then go to the islands, if you like city like go to the city, and then see what are your attractions are stay out of the bar scene.

I was engaged in Gingoog City and i loved her atall and treated her like my princess. I took care for her, her son and mom but she and the hole family only lied on me for money. They even let me pay for fake operations and when i went home to berlin/ germany, she met other men.
If the woman actually cares about you, she won't let the family take advantage of you. She'll be a buffer between you and her family. I don't mind helping my wife's parents. I would help mine if they needed it. That being said, we will help, but not support.
