Very nice video, VPP. We don't have comparable prices to your market as we don't have such a variety of fresh fish. Very informative & thank you for the post.
I miss going to the wet market, pert ka fresh sa mga isda and brato pa jud, unya daghan sad ug fresh vegetables, agoy ang lanzones, rambutan, mango nindot kaayo..I forgot pala congratulations may ads ka na.
great video showing the wet market and real good prizes to! but i think as a foreigner i wont get the same prize none the less even if i south have to pay a bit more it would be stil a good prize for me! keep up the good work and God bless.
Let a Filipino wife or GF do the haggling for you. Or if you have a maid or a cook, let her do the haggling. Also if you notice they do not put Ice. Around noon, the prices goes down up to 50% because most Filipinos only want fresh catch. Wait till they are ready to go home. They will get rid of their fish at cost. ( Most of the poor people buy towards the close of the market to get the cheapest price on fresh fish)
Merkado in the Philippines is way better than Seafood City in the US. Mga isda esp tilapia nbbili nmin mukhang isang taon na. Sa Pinas esp province fresh tlga I really miss that
Thank you for this video, I am a big seafood lover. But it is so expensive here. For instance fresh Spanish Mackerel (Tanigue is around $20.00 a pound (P1047.84 for 1/2 kilo).
I could tell by the color of the fish eyes, that should be bright in color not dull, and the suppleness of the flesh that when you slightly press it , so plump dont sag
@@villagepeoplephilippines That makes perfect sense. The eyes start to decay quickly because the fluid inside them would stop moving in the eye. Great information, thanks. 😀😀👋
Love your videos. I just saw an American doing a video on a street there in Tagbiliran with so many beautiful plants in a market. Do you know where that is? Could you show that place and how to get there?
With fish prices like that, the Philippines is a Norwegian's paradise! 😋 Fish prices are MUCH cheaper than in the U.S. About $3 per pound for fresh Tuna compared to $12 a pound here in the Midwestern U.S. Fresh vegetables and most fruits are also cheaper. Also, the quality of fresh produce is MUCH better than the U.S. In the U.S., all the fresh fruit is picked much too green and transported a long way before it arrives in the supermarket tasting tart or tasteless. The Philippine mango is by far the world heavyweight champion of all mangoes I have ever tasted! The slightly sweet Philippines cincomas (turnip) is the BEST fresh eating vegetable in the WORLD! However, overall, I think food prices in the Philippines are actually a little higher than in the U.S. Much of this is due to the fact that America has super efficient commercial agriculture and distribution systems, and many commodities like corn, soy, and milk, receive government subsidies. But I do wonder how the average Filipino family manages to survive with such high food prices relative to their low local incomes. I would guess that the average Filipino family spends 50% of their income on food, compared to maybe 10% here in the U.S.
I have 21 mango trees across my land holdings so I have a few mangoes after each harvest. A friend of mine makes a mango float to die for, I should film it. When it came to food prices I noticed in Japan that the fast food like McDonalds and KFC cost less than in the Philippines. I enjoy making these videos as it gives my viewers the opportunity to see prices and calculate for themselves the cost of living here. Same with the house rentals. What really makes the difference is the cost of labor, I currently have an electrician changing an electric feed and putting up some more security lights. It will cost me less the $10 dollars.
😎😎😎it was in wet market in the city of philippines but if province to province or island to island you can buy less the price or free only such as seafood ..vegetables..and fruits..philippines is the island of archepilago soroundings of seawater with good minerals of soils..
This is my favorite place the wet market that’s where we buy fresh fish and I remember me and my dad go to the wet market to buy pig and I touch the part of the body of the Baboy 😆 and also the fish before
Suggestions Lang: The GOVERNMENT must PROVIDE A DESCENT and CLEAN PUBLIC MARKET. for the growing populations. ALL WORKERS must WEAR GLOVES and nobody allowed to touch any food for sale, to AVOID the SPREAD of any diseases Example : Hepatitis, TB n etc.

How do you know if they are fresh? Do you go by what the shopkeeper tells you or is there a way you can know like gill color?😀👋
