- Here it is! The Unboxing of the 60,000 Piece New Worlds Largest Manufactured Jigsaw Puzzle! I was a bit of hot mess, I can't lie! A couple of things I forgot to mention: I will be timing each section to find out how many hours I spent on this one total! And this puzzle is available at Costco or dowdle.com. I've been a puzzle addict since I was in HS. I'm 71 now and still an addict. I had a lot of vintage (1960s - 1990s) puzzles that I gave away to non-profits - moving several times x-country and just couldn't keep. Then I got the Educa 33,600 pc Wildlife puzzle and my M-I-L and I did that every Friday night for about a year - and finished 9 of the 10 sections on a pingpong table. I moved x-country with it and it is upstairs in its glued original sections. I vow to do the 10th section but I don't have the room to do it, Wahhhhh. So I just ordered the 60,000 Dowdle World Map puzzle because I can do that here and even have a wall to hang it on! I just unboxed a huge number of puzzles that I still have - at least 100! I am adicted to DOING puzzles, but not addicted to collecting ones I've done (I rarely do one more than once). Can't wait to watch the rest of your Dowdle series!
I'm excited for you to do the Dowdle puzzle! And a wall to hang it on is absolutely amazing! I'm 51 and started doing puzzles in elementary school. I'm definitely addicted to doing puzzles as well! Lol! I rarely repeat a puzzle, but some I have a hard time giving away. 😅 I do hope you get to finish the 33k puzzle! I have it in my collection, but I need a longer board to put it on, so I'm working puzzles that fit the boards I have, then later I'll get bigger ones! You have an awesome channel! It was a lot of fun watching your time lapse progress of this beautiful puzzle. You mentioned at towards the end of your video that your son told you, you would be a failure if you didn't finish the puzzle. Even if you didn't finish the puzzle. Thank you for doing this video. Great to see the packaging, box and what I've gotten myself into. Love your puzzle collection. Resembles mine with a good mix of brands, sizes, and some mystery puzzles in there. I also have several from Sarah too (5 large parcels of them).

@@danish_puzzler That's typically how I do big puzzles, one section then things in between. 5 sections a month is a good pace and still be able to get other puzzles and things done!

The world's largest puzzle are beautiful again! 😍 I'd put them in the same league with Educa's 24000/33600/42000 pcs puzzles. Everything in between was nice and big, but this is something else... Hello Judy. I just learned about your channel from Vicky @ Vicky Makes & Builds. I just got this puzzle too. I will probably start it soon. I am finishing up some projects I've been working on. I will check on your progress. I figured I could do 1 bag a day, but don't know if I will do one every day till it's done though. That's 2 months of non-stop puzzling and the holidays are coming up. Curious - did you glue each section together as you built or just stack them to assemble later. Just finished bag 1 and looking for ideas on how to best store long term until I have all 60 sections done.
I put them on 40x60 inch foam core boards, 4 sections per board, 15 boards. Then we put the 15 parts together and it worked great! I just stacked the boards on top of each other on my puzzle table. I also taped the boards to my table so they didn't move or get knocked off. I'm not sure what your setup is like, but if you do need to tape the sections, painters tape might be best since it comes off fairly easy for adjustments. There were some issues with how the sections connect, mine weren't too bad, but others had more issues, so keep that in mind as well!

I do love those puzzles that cram alot of details in puzzles. I do 1000 piece puzzles and true the simple landscape puzzles look nice and are probably low effort to make by the company. But the difference is with those all be spending more time brute force trying same colored pieces while with the high detail ones im having more fun building strands that float around until i can connect them to the frame.

@@Addicted2Puzzles though i do notice with the 1000 piece puzzles some divide it into 6 sections by letter or color on the back of the puzzle its a very nice feature that lets me basically fast forward through the puzzle in a day or 2. But only got into puzzles recently as a christmas gift and do think i will be doing it for some time. My table is 1000 piece size so im not going to get to crazy with it.
@matt carnes I've seen the grids on the backside of puzzles. I think it's interesting and very helpful at times! I've only done a couple with the letters on the back though. I'm glad you got into puzzling! It's a great way to unwind 🧩🥰
The box makes you look very small. I love how you mixed this with a tour of your puzzle room. I would love to get this but have decided to wait until I do one of my other large puzzles. I am surprised that they are only 1000 pieces per bag. I see some mixing in your future. For now, I will have to watch you do this puzzle and only dream about it. My recommendation is do it at a speed that you enjoy. Can't wait for the next video. Love your channel.

Looks like a fun puzzle, and doable for most since it is split into 1000 piece bags.
I like the way they split this into 1000-piece sections. I don't mind the 4500 piece sections in the Ravensburger big puzzles, but this was fun to be able to focus on smaller sections and really take in the different art from around the world! 🧩☺️

Hi Judy lovely to see a fellow puzzle lover in action. I was going to challenge you to mix all the pieces but who wants to end up in the looney bin lol. I note you do not mount the puzzles once completed which I prefer to do. I prefer masterpieces ie Monet, Renoir; Da Vinci ( Mon Lisa ), Manet, Leighton etc. Completing them gives you a new perspective on the genius of these painters and when you place the final puzzle piece you almost feel how the painter must have felt way back then.
But you have taken on a wonderful challenge so good luck to you. I will be following your progress with great interest, Cheers.
I think mixing all these would've landed me in the looney bin for sure! 🤣 I completed the full puzzle on January 6th! I have daily updates from November to January, a review, and the full puzzle layout all in a nice playlist here on RUclips! 🧩🥳
Some puzzles I do mount when I complete them. Mostly Disney honestly. This one was too large to mount. I have the 24,000 piece Life Puzzle in my living room and two 18,000 piece puzzles mounted in my garage. I enjoy the Van Gogh puzzles, maybe some they're easier to come by. I can only imagine the feeling when these artists complete their paintings. That feeling when completing a puzzle is probably only a fraction of the pride and accomplishment they must've felt. ☺️🥰

I have the poster for reference for what I have completed and the order I'm going in. I've also been recording my times so I can figure out the average per puzzle and such! 🧩☺️

@@waynebennett745 I'm going in order of the top two rows in parts of four. Then I'll do the middle 2 rows, then the bottom row. I chose this method of order cause I think it'll be easier when it comes to laying out the whole puzzle. Numerical order goes down in columns so when I lay it out I'll be going from bottom to top or top to bottom instead of left to right. I need to do an update video and explain my methods and storing and all the things! 🧩😃🧩
My spouse doesn’t like it when I have my 1,000 piece puzzle laid out on the dining table. 60,000 pieces? That’s insane. I would have to move my puzzle to the garage. 😂
🤣🤣 I managed to keep everything in my puzzle room like a good puzzler. 😅 I did the puzzle in sections and had 4 sections to a 40x60 foam core board. So it wasn't too bad! My hubby wouldn't be crazy about puzzles on the dining table. But I'd be like, what? 🤷♀️ We have TV trays! 🤣🧩🥳 haha!

I think your 5k will be tougher than this one! I completed this in sixty 1000-piece sections. Doing 5000 pieces at a time is much more difficult I think! Which puzzle will you be doing? I have a few 5k piece puzzles in my to-do pile I would like to do sometime this year! 🧩🌞

Thank you! The good thing about this puzzle is that it came in 1000-piece sections, so it was easy to manage the space. Berlin was on the map! The map was very detailed! In the end, this puzzle was absolutely beautiful! 🧩☺️

I actually just completed it in Friday and we layed the full puzzle in our driveway on Saturday! It was pretty spectacular! Each section was 1000-pieces. It turned out really pretty! I have a lot of time lapse videos and shorts uploaded. Tomorrow, I'll have a video of the big layout and Wednesday I'll be posting a video of the whole experience and review. 🥰🧩

Great video! What a beast of a puzzle. Imagine throwing all 60 pieces onto one large pile and having to sort all these countless things out of it.
Maybe you could transform the image next time, it is mirrored and therefore hard to read. Not a big deal, though, the content is what matters!
Thank you! I finished this puzzle yesterday! I honestly couldn't even imagine mixing the bags with this one! The 24k Life puzzle, yes! This one, no way! 😅 So many things were the same throughout the sections and each section is the same cut. That might've been a small nightmare! 🤣 I don't have the room to mix a monter this big though!

@No Name If I had 29 feet of space and infinite time, I'd mix it, maybe! Each section was the exact same grid cut so mixing this one might have been a nightmare. But if you're really patient and have a lot of time and space, I think mixing it could happen. 🧩😃

@Rachel Fragante When a puzzle is really tough, that's when I get a bit competitive with it, trying to figure out how much longer it will take or something like that. I rarely give up on a puzzle no matter how hard it is. I did put one away because the quality wasn't good, but I'll probably finish it up one day! 😊🧩
Hi! I want to now dimension of the carton box in cm or ft.
I don't actually know the dimensions of the box itself. I don't have the box anymore. I looked at the Dowdle and Costco sites and neither of them say the dimensions of the box it came in. I know it was 100 lbs though! Lol!
Also didn’t know jigsaws puzzles came in that size never seen it.
This is now the largest you can buy! I think the next one is 54k. The largest I've completed was 40,320 pieces! 🧩☺️

It’s kind of bad that they did separate in bags of 1000 pieces. It makes this puzzle too easy. Of course it is long, and it takes a lot of space at the end… but that’s all. If they had not separated the pieces, that would have been soooo difficult, and much longer. But I suppose they would have a hard time selling it. You probably had a lot of fun anyways, so good for you !
Thank you! If it had come in one bag, I'd definitely still be working on it! But I don't have that kind of space to lay out a full huge puzzle yet! One day I will, though! I challenged myself with this one to complete it in 60 days and had it done in 57 days! I did that since it was set up easy in the 1000-piece bags! It was a really fun challenge! Each section is the same exact cut, so I feel mixing this one would have been extremely challenging and probably pretty frustrating with a lot of the same types of buildings and water and sky. It's probably not something I would do, honestly! 😅😅
@@Addicted2Puzzles I understand, yes. I was interested in the 42000 pieces one, lol… But I don’t have enough space in my flat. And 6000 pieces in 7 bag : it’s a lot of work. So the 60000 looks so much easier and more appealing, now I am interested in buying and doing it. I suppose, whoever wants it harder can always mix 2 bags or more together… Well, once done, whoever wants to recycle it could glue it on the wall as a wall paper lol.
@M D I have the 42k puzzle in my collection! I won't get to it for a while though. There is a gentleman here on RUclips, @puzzlemethis who mixed the 42k and is currently working on it! It's pretty cool to see! 6k is definitely more manageable than a full 42k! I did the Life puzzle which is 4 sections of 6k and I really enjoyed that one! I have a second copy so I can mix them one day when I get the space! 🥳
How much did it cost????
I bought this one from Costco for $599. I think now is now to $479 last I checked. We wound up returning it after the big build since it was missing a piece and we didn't have anywhere to display it. It's a beautiful puzzle though! I'm so glad I got to experience this one!

Yes! I finished it on 57 days. I didn't mix the full 60,000 pieces, just did it in 1000-piece sections. It was a fun puzzle build!
how much does it cost?
If you purchase through Costco, it's $599. On the Dowdle website it is $799.
Just be aware that there are alignment issues on the connecting seam pictures. They are off just a bit on some and noticeably on others. I've seen on Facebook where some sections don't quite connect properly. The one I'm on today is the last part in the 2nd row and it probably won't connect to the other three parts. We'll see this afternoon! I just wanted you to know cause it's pretty pricey and if you're planning on displaying it, I don't want you to be disappointed. 🧩☺️

so this is just assembly of 1000 pieces puzzles with many details. for young in team at rainy days... alone, at the end it consume time, sure. it is possible to mix some bags, 2 or more, but no real challenge...
The real challenge is doing it in 60 days, or possibly less. All in all, it's been fun so far! I have 12 bags left. ☺️🧩

There's a difference between challenging and frustrating. Each bag is the same exact cut, colors don't completely match, it wouldn't have been a great puzzle to mix, in my opinion. It's not cheating doing a puzzle in the way it was packaged. I made it a challenge by doing the full puzzle in 57 days instead of 3 years cause I don't have time for all that. Too many other puzzles to do! 🤣 I will mix the 24,000 piece Life puzzle though, I just need the space to do it in. That's a beautiful puzzle, that I did once, but in 4 sections, the way it's packaged. So I cheated on that one, too. 🤷♀️ and a couple other big ones... 🧩

I would have thought 6x10000 piece or 10x6000 piece would have been better.
And I know which 24,000 piece puzzle your talking about out. It’s my favourite puzzle of all time. I hope to do the same if I can convince my wife to let us take up our basement for a year or two lol
@watchman9198 lol I promise I wasn't offended! I don't think Dowdle is set up for big puzzle production. Maybe they figured 1000-piece sections would appeal to more Puzzlers. I think they should've partnered with Educa and did the 6000-piece sections as you said, that would've been cool!
I wish I had a basement! It'd be the most epic puzzle space ever! 🥳 The Life puzzle is my all-time favorite puzzle as well. I loved it when I first saw it 2007/8(?) I have it hanging on my living room wall. And bought a 2nd copy to mix one day. Cause I know one day I'll have the space! If you ever get to make your basement into an epic puzzle area, please post a video! 🧩🧩🥳 I hope you get to mix the Life puzzle one day! It'd be pretty amazing!
