@@WesDaviestravel Absolutely. This is one of Taiwan's greatest weaknesses with its tourism industry. It cost me $4000 just to and from Xitou in Nantou. With friends is easier because you can split the cost, but still. I'd never go myself and spend money because it's gone before I get there!
Come again to Jiaxian. I'm the only American here. Ha. Next to my house is the spiciest noodle shop in Taiwan! One person even passed out after eating it. Be a great video for people who like spicy noodles. It's called "Across from School Noodles"

@@creakid when you go into Jiaxian from Kaohsiung, the first restaurant can serve sugar cane rat. There is another restaurant, Le-ming, that serves bee larva. You may have to request them ahead of time to get things bought/prepared.
I love how bakery buddy got to share a bit of his truth, too. Of course, it's always good to see Wes Davies introduce centuries-old foods, only destroy them in minutes. Stay hungry, bud!
