I like how all of your HT's you've adapted each one with a BNC connector. It can be a bit frustrating getting ones that seat just right, but it's so much nicer, sturdier and more convenient when you have them all in place. Safe travels to/from Orlando!

BNC is the only way for HTs :-)

Don't travel much but when we do, I bring a TH-D72, a GD-77 + hotspot for DMR, and a Uniden scanner.

Just curious if you knew the FT5 is capable of scanning weather band for alerts too?

Yes. It's one of the better HTs for weather alerts

I am curious, is anybody else as disappointed with the Yaesu ft5 as me? The TX quality audio on that radio is abysmal (with the built-in mic). I'm curious why people don't talk about that more often.

What is useless about sending SMS Text messages and emails? Or checking the weather, and so much more? Beaconing your location is like 1% of it's usefulness.
