He can't sing as high as he could when Tarja was in Nightwish, but he is still a beast. I blame the botched surgery he had on his throat back in the day.
@@tdvcyt2534 right, but even so I don't think that helped his long-term vocal condition. It's just a guess, but if I'm to blame anything, I would rather blame the surgery. It can also be age, he's not the only aging rocker that lost their impressive vocals, such as Axl Rose and Bruce Dickinson
He was seemed so cheerful and healthy when I saw him last week in Espoo! So happy that he's doing much better now after quitting Nightwish. Really looking forward to the next solo album :D
to think he felt invisible as a talent when he was on stage here with his solo band in the netherlands. he seemed so split between feeling like 'just the nightwish bassist' and 'there is a band behind me as well, do heed them!' and soon after splitting away from nightwish... the guy is probably one of the most beloved musicians Finland ever had and it seems that now his life calmed down he's having so much more fun again.
an excellent song (and melodic main riff there), like wine, and a terrible well-being there, very pleasant listening and viewing and Marko... one of the best singers who walked this planet! (nobody is able replace him and sing his Nightwish performances instead him till today and never be)
They dont play that on my regular fm radio in Montreal! I'm mostly from the Beatles-Zeppelin era but that song is not bad at all.The cover band Iron Cross got me here!
I fell down from the skies of light, and landed upon the clouds I woke up on those hills of white, on a road stretched like a shroud I wandered on for a day and night, or maybe a few more There I was and now I am, in a place after before My memory's there in the wild wind's care She took it messing up my hair Journey into fear Home was never here Come undone Dead god's son Journey into fear Home was never here Come undone Dead god's son I fell down just dead on my feet, and landed among the stones I woke up on these hills of black, a cliffside scattered with bones I wandered on for a day and night, found some starlight and nothing more There I was and now I am, in a place after before My memory's there in the cold wind's care Her fingers running through my hair Journey into fear Home was never here Come undone Dead god's son Journey into fear Home was never here Come undone Dead god's son

Marko’s voice is the best in heavy rock in the world.
> "best voice in heavy rock":
Good joke. Because he is one of the best male singers ever
@@stihacka100 I agree, of course!

@@jvalfin3359 The surgery was in the early 90s, he only joined Nightwish in 2001.

What's this song about? I can't hear Marco's lyrics.
I fell down from the skies of light, and landed upon the clouds
I woke up on those hills of white, on a road stretched like a shroud
I wandered on for a day and night, or maybe a few more
There I was and now I am, in a place after before

She took it messing up my hair
Journey into fear
Home was never here
Come undone
Dead god's son
Journey into fear
Home was never here
Come undone
Dead god's son

I woke up on these hills of black, a cliffside scattered with bones
I wandered on for a day and night, found some starlight and nothing more
There I was and now I am, in a place after before
My memory's there in the cold wind's care
Her fingers running through my hair
Journey into fear
Home was never here
Come undone
Dead god's son
Journey into fear
Home was never here
Come undone
Dead god's son
@@stihacka100 oh thanks for this! It's quite dark isn't it? Is 'dead God's Son' referring to Jesus?
