Thank you great video. My espresso shots were coming out with very little crema, I never thought to run the hot water through both the portafilter and the steam wand to heat things up before pouring the shot. I just tried it your way and it came out perfect. Cheers!

    A bit late but
1: having the portafilter with coffee on the machine for so long makes it very likely for the coffee to get burnt by the grouphead before you make the shot.
2: pouring back the water to the water tank risks putting small particles from the glass such as dust or whatever unless the glass is very clean to begin with
3: is it really a boiler or is it a heater element?

Don't let it's beautiful design fool you!!! the steam leaked through the group head from the first time. So don't DREAM of making latte with this machine.

I got the feeling, you haven't reached a good level of beeing a home-barista yet. Never throw back the flushed water! So crazy. And clean your machine before doing a "Perfect Espresso Tutorial". There is a lot of dirt and your portafilter is like a black hole.
Sorry, but your video is not too sexy for me. Also a lot of informations missing regarding brewing-ratio, grinding-grade, shot time etc.

The flushed water could have lots of crud. Don’t do it

Perfect espresso using a Porlex? No. Just no. You need a MUUUUCH better grinder for perfect espresso. You need proper tamping technique, and you need proper dialing in and water if you truly want perfect espresso. But please. The porlex is barley good enough for good pour over let alone espresso
