    i see this while i'm searching for more nebula tutorials. i agree with all your points. ubiquiti uap ac pro drops off easily from mid range, that's the main reason i switched to zyxel. its nap102/203 simply outperform. and recently they include their nwa1123ac into nebula, it becomes really attractive solutions. cloud based is really the way to go, ubiquiti once came out their cloud solution last year, but suspended till now due to their technical difficulty.

    Great video! Their cloud also started to support NWA1123 devices some days ago, which price are competitive against the UAPs and you can also use it as standalone if wished. I have tried it myself and it's really easy to switch from one mode to the other.
    I hope they'll improve the looking tho...In terms of functions and device performance, I like this one more than ubiquiti, specially after their failed cloud controller

    The NWA1123 series just started to support Nebula Cloud with the new FW, so the "double price" complains are not true anymore! There is also a free version of Nebula, so it costs much less than 1 year ago.

    Good stuff. Lot's of insight. I have one NWA1123-AC HD that i bought from Amazon. It support cloud management too. The price is only half of Ubiquiti's 802.11ac wave 2 AP yet the coverage and perforamcne is the best I've seen. I really like the benefit of cloud bring me, you can literally send the AP to anyone, and register the AP from the cloud. Ubiquiti has good stuff too, but it will need either open the box and run app to pre-configure it, or need a unified controller pre-configured. I believe cloud management will change the way managing device completely. I also believe one day ubiqliti will catup up its way to cloud too.

    UBNT hash added scheduled firmware upgrades to the controller. Also auto upgrade has been a feature for years, so I'm not sure how that was missed. Free cloud service is nice and is a plus. I have the option to have onsite, self hosted, or cloud hosted option with UBNT. To me in the end as other have stated its options and everyone will find what product fits their needs

      to me, to install unify software is always a nightmare. zyxel nebula saves you the effort to install a controller, much easy & pleasant experience.

    Sorry, I'm not with you on this one.
    Not only are Ubiquiti APs half the price, but you don't even need the controller to configure the access points. You can configure them directly from the UniFi phone app without any issues.
    You can also access the UniFi controller from anywhere if you enable cloud access in the controller. At half the price, Ubiquiti is a no brainer.

    • @YetAnotherTechChannel
      @YetAnotherTechChannel  6 лет назад +2

      Sure, but you still need that UniFi controller to be installed and running somewhere, right?
      When you have two or three APs at home and you couldn't care less about logs and stats, then I guess you can get away with setting things up with the mobile app. But it's a whole different story in a business environment with possibly tens or hundreds of APs.

    • @wififast6904
      @wififast6904 6 лет назад

      Exactly. "if" you enabled cloud access and "if" you have a cloud key. Ubiqiti has good stuff, no doubt. I also believe Ubiquiti will catup up on true cloud management like Meraki , and maybe anytime soon. But the fact is it hasn't. Ubiquiti tried unifi elite and unifi cloud controller, and they are fixing it.

      No doubt that controller-based solutions are not for everyone! Not to say when it's cloud-based, although it seems to be "The thing" nowadays.

      YetAnotherTechChannel good point about nebula being useful for business environments. it's a shame that the video only highlights the cloud-base management aspect of the product. Nebula's ability to store and generate client reports has been invaluable.

      I definetly understand your point, but with the massive price difference between them you could almost buy an AC Lite and a Cloud Key for the same price than the cheapest Zyxel AP. Businesses are much more prone to have a dedicated server already running for security cameras or file sharing, so you can install the controller there for $0 extra.
      Don't get me wrong, I love your content! I just don't know what demographic this AP targets at that price range.

    Showing better in software optimization than UniFI.
    This device has MU‑MIMO technology support like the newer Unifi HD?

    Can someone tell me the differences between zyxel NAP102 and zyxelNWA1123-ACv2??

    • @rockit365
      @rockit365 5 лет назад

      NAP102 comes with 1yr bundled nebula pro license, and nwa1123 comes with free nebula mode, which is cheaper. if you're new to nebula, you can start from nwa1123. you'll love it.

    • @wififast6904
      @wififast6904 5 лет назад

      NAP102 comes with 3 years nebula professional license. NWA1123-ACv2 doesn't. Both works with Nebula Free mode for life time, according to the vendor.
