This is so good, thank you! What a great sound this is. I just downloaded Jacques Ogg's interpretation, which is great, but I prefer your touch to his. Bravo!
It’s an interesting thing. The passacaglia was always based on a descending tetrachord unless composers were confused. The scribe of the Bauyn manuscript was very uncertain about the Couperin Passacaille ou Chaconne since Couperin hides the tetrachord quite cleverly. The scribe of Parville is a little cleverer. My thoughts on trills in this piece is that the they are constant and not punctuated since the effect is percussive and not particularly melodic. An interesting approach would be to try it with early fingering, which you don’t. You don’t mention that the the time signature is mensural and, as such, has a great bearing on the tempo.
Thank you the illuminating talk and the luminous performance !

What a gorgeous piece, a tour de force of composition.
And you play it so brilliantly and expressively. I loved it.
Thank you!
Amazing, thanks for another quality upload, John!
I'm happy you liked it!
