+Ibrahim IBz I don't get why there's always a constant need to compare. each to his own. yes, most of the music lil wayne and drake make is full of crap. but they are two of the hottest rappers in the game right now. i mean, when you compare them to the likes of bobby shmurda, 2 chains, meek mill and i could go on forever. but like i said... each to his own.
+Calvin Odom damn chill chill! they're both tight as fuck calm down! Man, "How Much a Dollar Cost" is one of my favorites on this album. It blew and opened my mind. Ever since then I've given two homeless people extra change/money, without thinking what they're going to spend it on, and honestly feel like a better person.
I love how hidden Kendrick is from the media but I enjoy these conversations where he just gives us the real. This is the difference between him and Drake. This is culture.
The thing about introverts we tend to internalize things deeply and feel things deeply. Some of us can't turn our brain off so it's a must to exercise, meditate and try some Yoga to keep an healthy mind. Master your mind, master your emotions and everything will be alright.
The thing that strikes me about Kendrick Lamar in these interviews is his HUMILITY. He's so HUMBLE...so UNASSUMING....so DOWN TO EARTH! It's incredible that this humble man created the hip hop masterpiece that is To Pimp A Butterfly....
Driving around Johannesburg will change your perspective on life. As a black South African, I say appreciate everything you have, because someone else got it worse.
I was in such a bad position in my life, then I heard things like u and how much a dollar cost, sing about me, maad city, keisha's song and especially his pain. This mans music saved me and gave me the energy to find a purpose to my life and I want to meet him one day, and just thank him
Big up my brother Kendrick, you're an old soul and we are privileged to witness your talent. It's beautiful to know that your experience in South Africa contributed to your growth. We love you bro!
Kendrick is so down to earth it's simply eyeopening. Someone with his success, someone with his intellectuality, its amazing to see he's still right here with us and not flying off into the space of fame and money. I find so many similarities between me and him beneath the skin. I hope one day I'll be able to be in his position in a different way, and pimp the butterfly for good.
"How is it that I can reach people around the world and not reach the ones closet to me" That is "real talk" Honesty is the most Admirable trait in Humankind
“u” is my all-time favourite song by Kendrick, with “untitled 05 | 09.21.2014.” very closely following behind. That passion. That rawness. That soulful nakedness that most are afraid to bear. A reason for living. A reason for believing something…
3:03 - 4:56 You can tell he has *a lot* of pain inside of him he still has surpressed despite how therapeutic music is for him. I saw his interview about losing his homies back in Compton on VICE news.
" And he told me GOD BLESS YOU" I teared as I heard those words as I have experienced the same situation and I couldn't describe how I felt about it till I heard those words by kendrick
Kendrick has discovered simplicity. It found him unexpectedly, and it blew his mind. Sometimes it’s uneasy to unravel your feelings, you want to be clear and in touch with your life experiences before you just speak. He did well enough.
I am struggling so much with deep sadness I am not sure if it's sadness or depression. I am going through deep grief and wish I had more people in my life who were real and understood me. Listening to Kendrick brings me so much comfort it's bittersweet I wish I had someone in my life that wise and emotional but don't. It's lonely I appreciate his music so much wish I could meet more people like him
Props to the guy interviewing really really dope interview. Kendrick is just way ahead of the curve so much wisdom and a very high intellectual human being I love his music
Kendrick you say"What can you do?" You already doing it. Your talent, love, etc inspires me. You are a person you can learn a lot from. Drake if you could embrace instead of hate you can learn something. Embrace the goodness in others. The facts r out there. The concert he had in Austin Texas wow. Everybody love him.
Drake talks about personal shit that's on a much more relate-able level b/c he always talks about failing relationships and shit and how fame has strained him, whereas Kendrick is talkin about shit that could probably only pertain to he, himself, but we all fucking love it b/c this is some shit we never heard nor did we ever think we would hear this from any rapper ever.
+VTK XTO You're right. It's comparing classics to bubble gum rap
This guy is one of the good guys. A very rare breed indeed these days
RACIST
+Piano Girl stfu kid. Go watch Taylor swift
ever heard rare breed? 🙌🏽
His pain is called Godly Sorrow. It's vital for his detachment from the world and consistent growth.
I can listen to him talk all day .💯
Man, "How Much a Dollar Cost" is one of my favorites on this album.
This is culture.
love that he was so open about this! "Mental Illness" is real and too many of us are sweeping this under the rug.
"I can either pimp this situation or I can fall a victim to it" - that's deep and inspiring
The thing about introverts we tend to internalize things deeply and feel things deeply.
Some of us can't turn our brain off so it's a must to exercise, meditate and try some Yoga
to keep an healthy mind. Master your mind, master your emotions and everything will be alright.
I love him
he’s a gift from God🥺
The thing that strikes me about Kendrick Lamar in these interviews is his HUMILITY. He's so HUMBLE...so UNASSUMING....so DOWN TO EARTH! It's incredible that this humble man created the hip hop masterpiece that is To Pimp A Butterfly....
Your comment aged well
Kendrick has such sad eyes, you can tell he's seen terrible things.
His eyes are like that because of a genetic defect.
dash the hitman what was that song he said it in again? I remember that verse.
GOYARD THUGGER thanks
@4115 Entertainment lol I got that reference :)
He looked so tired
He seems so close to tears
Driving around Johannesburg will change your perspective on life. As a black South African, I say appreciate everything you have, because someone else got it worse.
I'm just gonna say it. Very few people in hip hop are as down to earth, clever and as ground-breaking as Kendrick.
Years later and his music is very relevant especially during this pandemic of young people having depression
Kendrick & Nas are gifts, they transcend the genre
i love kendrick he so real, man 😭
I was in such a bad position in my life, then I heard things like u and how much a dollar cost, sing about me, maad city, keisha's song and especially his pain. This mans music saved me and gave me the energy to find a purpose to my life and I want to meet him one day, and just thank him
power of music man
+Piano Girl wtf
You gotten to meet him yet?
Hearing Kendrick's voice is honestly therapeuthic, really helping... Peace
GOD WHY CANT I EVER MEET A MAN LIKE THIS😭😭😭😭 I DONT EVEN CARE THAT HE'S SHORT, I WANT HIS MIND!
sameee and honestly his mind, talent and aura makes him taller than most men out here
Praying that us girls all find a man like Kendrick someday ♥️
Big up my brother Kendrick, you're an old soul and we are privileged to witness your talent. It's beautiful to know that your experience in South Africa contributed to your growth. We love you bro!
Kendrick is definitely one of my favorite rappers of this generation
Seems more like two friends talking. LOVE THIS
Kendrick is so down to earth it's simply eyeopening. Someone with his success, someone with his intellectuality, its amazing to see he's still right here with us and not flying off into the space of fame and money. I find so many similarities between me and him beneath the skin. I hope one day I'll be able to be in his position in a different way, and pimp the butterfly for good.

this guy is a for real genius. This album is one of the best and most complex works of human expression ever made.
damn I need to appreciate this man so much more before he dies cause there ain't too many like him left in this game.
"How is it that I can reach people around the world and not reach the ones closet to me" That is "real talk" Honesty is the most Admirable trait in Humankind
There's so much charisma in Kendrick. The way he talks and his expression
I'm watching on a king in the making
Hes been a king hes more than a king now..
ADAJ3 I'm going to use this as a quote!
You was correct
Finally MTV is actually backing real music..it's been 20 years.
Kendrick and Cole are the two most genuine and real artists this generation has.
Both of them have such a calming presence.
Standing in the gap for Kendrick in prayer in 2024!
I genuinely love this man.
So real.
DANG!
“u” is my all-time favourite song by Kendrick, with “untitled 05 | 09.21.2014.” very closely following behind. That passion. That rawness. That soulful nakedness that most are afraid to bear. A reason for living. A reason for believing something…
3:03 - 4:56
You can tell he has *a lot* of pain inside of him he still has surpressed despite how therapeutic music is for him. I saw his interview about losing his homies back in Compton on VICE news.
Yeah, you can see the pain through his eyes. He has sad eyes...Im sorry for him...
also genetic de
He's so real and humble. Much love to him
The silence and lack of background music is greatly appreciated. The central focus is very serious and calls for that same silence.
I loved reading these comments. Kendrick is all about spreading love and respect.
One of my favorite MC's of all time
"How Much a Dollar Cost" is the best song I heard since K-Rino's "Solitary Confinement" ...Deep songs
" And he told me GOD BLESS YOU"
I teared as I heard those words as I have experienced the same situation and I couldn't describe how I felt about it till I heard those words by kendrick
Kendrick has discovered simplicity. It found him unexpectedly, and it blew his mind. Sometimes it’s uneasy to unravel your feelings, you want to be clear and in touch with your life experiences before you just speak. He did well enough.
His honesty and humbleness is so amazing! Goat!!!
He’s such a different person today a lot of weight is lifted off his shoulders and his eyes are happier now ❤❤❤❤ God bless him ❤
the vulnerability of this interview is absolutely stunning. the part about bums being angels--beautiful
Kendrick forever. He's just the definition of love and a great human being. OMG I love this man soooooo much.
Factszzz! 💯😍💣❤🙏🏽💫👀👌🏽🎯💥🤩
Hearing this was emotional. God bless his soul, Kendrick does so much for all hes gone through.
Glad to see that J cole is interviewing Kendrick !
Lol good one.
He isn't j Cole.
Mindy Halter it's a joke, obviously.
Jake hole
I am struggling so much with deep sadness I am not sure if it's sadness or depression. I am going through deep grief and wish I had more people in my life who were real and understood me. Listening to Kendrick brings me so much comfort it's bittersweet I wish I had someone in my life that wise and emotional but don't. It's lonely I appreciate his music so much wish I could meet more people like him
go up man! hope u good now
hope you’re feeling better ❤
Props to the guy interviewing really really dope interview. Kendrick is just way ahead of the curve so much wisdom and a very high intellectual human being I love his music
As someone who hasnt been through nearly as much as kendrick, but does strugglr with depressioj etc. It really helps me listening to him.

Kendrick is able to reach all with different styles of music;poetry.
South Africa 🇿🇦 is proud of u Kendrick
