After being subjected to meddling and bullying from the UK government, Apple has announced that it wants to remove iMessage from the UK.
Apple is tired of being bullied by the UK government, and it's looking to take some action to rectify the situation. iMessage is one of the key features of Apple products, and the company wants to ensure that it remains free and accessible to everyone in the UK.
If you're in the UK and use iMessage, make sure to stay logged in and keep an eye on the news to see what happens next! This is an interesting story that will definitely have a lasting impact on the way you use Apple products! If someone is claiming to be me and using Whatsapp or Telegram to give you a prize, it's a SCAM!

Governments have 1 job to do. They have to put laws in place for the people of their state, country, or continent so that everyone is happy and content somehow. And nothing else. That's why I was against the EU request from the beginning even if it seems pro-consumers. It's a slippery slope. It starts with forcing usb-c and ends with forcing a backdoor. I think if the EU went as far as to mandate usb C, they should have also forced fazed out USB A, the arguments are the same, 1 type of connector, fewer cables needed. All electronics will only have USB C in the future and it’s better. It’s sad that they targetted Apple but didn’t made the whole industry better. Shows that lawmakers who don’t live and breathe tech should not be allowed to legislate it. If anyone disagrees, reply with what USB A does better than USB C.
P.S. USB A is everywhere is not a valid argument. Lightening was everywhere but the EU decided that they needed to standardise and people/places will adapt.

I'm a UK iphone user and to be honest I agree with Apple's stance on this but sadly even if they remove iMessage and Facetime most people won't be too bothered if they have to use WhatsApp or something else for both of those things anyway, I actually use whatsapp way more than either iMessage or Facetime anyway as its a better way of being able to chat and message people irrelevant of which tech ecosystem you use. I'm all in with Apple as I'm a mac user both at home and work and an icloud subscriber too, it will be interesting to see what happens.
Oh and as for the USB-C lightning thing, watch this space but don't be surprised if Apple remove the physical charge port completely and just go full wireless charging instead, again this complies with what the EU want without giving in to using USB-C, again something I personally have no problem with I think Lightning connectors have been very unreliable for years, I personally use those magnetic connectors you buy and put into the lightning port and just leave them there and instead use a magnetic attached cable instead, these allow me to use one cable on literally everything, iphone, non apple headphones and ear buds, wireless mice and keyboard, I literally have one cable that charges them all and the ports vary from lightning, USB-C and even older USB-B mini ports with the added benefit that with the magnetic piece in whatever device it means dust can't get into the charge ports.

If the governments were genuinely interested in the consumers well being, they would have lobbied against forced esim adoption and computers that we can no longer upgrade storage and ram in, instead of trying to force Apple to compromise security by requiring them to allow other app stores in their ecosystem and forcing them to adopt USB-C (even though I do think it is better than lighting). As far as I'm concerned, if you want to make so many baseless changes, pay billions in R&D to develop your own ecosystem and then you can call the shots. Apple should not be forced to do any of these things, because if people don't like iOS, they have Android as an option.

I like how Apple is uniquely presented with PR opportunities to "appear" to be for the privacy or their users....while most definitely providing back doors to everything. It's a dirty secret of big tech. They all do it.

I partially agree. They def r opportunistic with privacy n security. Not as private or secure as they make out. However, I did watch the senate hearings re the police wanting a “key,” back door n they held their ground, if I remember correctly.

Apple can afford to do this. iMessage isn't as popular outside the US as people think. Now if they pull iDevices out all together that's a different story...

iMessage and FaceTime overseas aren't a thing... Everyone uses WhatsApp so this is sort of irrelevant.

Actually no it isn't. Whatsapp is threatening to leave the UK as well as Signal and others.
