@@WarrenCromartie2 @clem lowes had the opportunity to see rush in Cincinnati and Dayton Ohio. about 3 and 4 times in each location. it's songs like this and if you fully comprehend the message, you tell your kids to enjoy their last year playing jr division pee wee football, sr division and into high school... if i had a dime for each time i have said, "enjoy this time, store some memories in your memory bank forever." matter of fact i tell a lot of people that.... my "roll the bones" sweat shirt still looks new.. i last wore it about 22 years ago, to a bar in cincy... the looks i received.
Love the sound on this whole record. I used to listen to only this record by Rush, during a period of my life. So many great song and amazing lyrics as usual by Rush! RIP Neil Peart!
I’m so glad you guys listened to this one - it’s an oft overlooked gem. The lyrics are sheer poetry. You guys are pretty quick to digest the lyrics - your reviews are very insightful.
I fell in love with this song when it came out, but, like so many, I have forgotten its message more often than I should have... my youngest children are nearly grown and there are more days behind than ahead.
I have always believed and exclaimed. Music draws NO borders. You two special people are a portion of my body of proof. Thanking you both very much! PS. Please do not stop. Again... Thanx...
I just about wore out a cassette tape of Hold Your Fire at Kent State Univ 1990. I played it non stop. To this day it's still my favorite Rush album followed by Test For Echo.
In my late teens/early 20’s this was a catchy pop song with a lol!, terrible video. Now in my late 40’s this song rings home. Big RUSH fan since I was about 13/14! You two can’t go wrong, regardless of what era, with these 3 lads!
Summer's going fast, nights growing colder. Children growing up, old friends growing older. Freeze this moment a little bit longer. Make each sensation a little bit stronger. Experience slips away...
Thank you 2 are wonderful people . you should look into one of my favorite group's UFO , PHENOMENON this is their 1st album my favorite tracks , space child , and of course Rock bottom .
Nice reaction! Awesome song! Always reminds me of summertime. The female vocals are by Aimee Mann, an American singer-songwriter. She would be a great artist to react to if you haven't already.
Incredibly deep lyrics in this song. One of their later masterpieces IMO. Hold Your Fire is one of Rush's greater efforts. Turn the Page, Prime Mover also very good tunes.
A few Rush recommendations, of which i believe suit you. Losing It; Mystic Rhythyms; Nobody's Hero; Kid Gloves; Available Light; Presto; The Way the Wind Blows; Dreamline
Aimee Mann from Til' Tuesday sang here in this song and very briefly in 2 others on the same album, Open Secrets and a bit in Tai Shan. Open Secrets is pretty good for a relationship song, "I find no absolution in my rational point of view. Maybe some things are instinctive, but there's one thing you can do: You could try to understand me, I could try to understand you."
It was the official video that took away from this song. When I just listen I love it but that video snagged some of its soul power. I do like this song. I love Rush
great and fun to watch reaction. y'all played 1 of my favorites. check out "half yhe world" it is a similar type of sound but much different lyric message. peace!
I was pretty amazed by how many rush reviews you have done. I would suggest a song called (the way the wind blows) and a song called (entra nous) both great lyrics to analyze. Keep it up
Nice analysis. You might also want to look into Aimee Mann, who is on backing vocals here. In fact I bought some of her work on the strength of this. Her music is very different but I’m sure you two could analyse it. I can’t think of a song off the top of my head though.
agreed on the wife girlfreind you are a lucky man. i now feel at 54 years that ive been blind but now i see... love rush love both of u for opening my eyes... music holds the secret..{TRIUMPH)Hold On!
I cannot stand this era of Rush but, don’t mind this song at all. Or subdivisions. Oddly I’m enameled by the metallic sound of his Signature guitar here. Nothing I could ever use for anything personally but.. he needed that brightness to cut through the mix. I prefer when he was hitting with explosive riffs like the song Working Man. I mean.... WOW. Basically everything from Rush to Permanent waves I love. And like two songs from signals. Alex will always be my favorite guitarist of all time. It’s been forever since I’ve heard this song. Really forgot I liked it. Thanks!
Probably one of their "catchiest" songs musically. All those moments lost....like tears in....in rain.
One of my favorite RUSH songs. I just love the lyrics. "Children growing up old friends getting older". We cannot turn back the hands of time.
Agree. That simple line really gets me these days, as I get older and I contemplate the past more. This is such a poignant song.
Hard to listen to some of Neils lyrics since his passing.

RIP Neil Pert. One of the greatest drummers ever and a damn fine song writer as well. He will be missed.
This was the first song I listened to when I heard about Neil passing.

Thank you for covering Time Stands Still. That's Aimee Mann of Til Tuesday (at that time) on that backing vocal.

Been waiting for this one 👍
Words written by Neil Peart, female voice is Aimee Mann from Til Tuesday. This is my favorite Rush song.

I'm surprised you haven't listened to Caravan. Great studio version. Love the bass
Raise your energy and we shall slow time....
The U.S. army choir does an amazing tribute to this song , you should check it out.
Great reaction. If you find time, could you review the song Heresy from Roll the Bones album? Thank you folks.
Check out Dreamscape... you'll love it!
Please see the link below! The video features Aimee Mann working the camera!! ✌🏻 peace!!
Going through this journey with you I feel like we are a tribe. Love you guys!
Stop and look around before you miss it
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." -Ferris Bueller.
Had I'd known time would've passed so quickly I would have savored many moments better while I was still married and the kids were still little. :(

ROCKY Rush RIVERA Yes! Absolutely awesome message to that song.
For an alternate take on this song, here is the U.S. Army Band adding their own twist! ruclips.net/video/aAPSK_cV5n0/видео.html
Seems to me a good subscription for your life coaching and therapy, is assigning RUSH lyrics.
