hey, I don't usually comment, but I am genuinely bummed out to see someone not enjoying this game I loved and still enjoy so I just wanted to share some tips for gameplay and general observations that I have made which help me enjoy and appreciate the game 1. Ease off the acceleration on turns, the car will turn easier, this helps avoiding other cars too 2. Use nitros on straight sections 3. Typically you have to use each nitro on each lap, 3 nitros vs 3 laps due to there only being one straight section per lap 4. There aren't any supercars to unlock or straight up upgrade. I think the cars that are available differ in ways that aren't drastic, the game keeps driving the focus of the game and not upgrading or unlocking cars. It's a throwback to a simpler time. 5. Definitely funner to play split screen, matching up skills and racing, the game is easy to pick up play, but hard to master! It's sorta whatever you want it when you you want with another person... Is it 1 on 1? Coop? I don't care, but the mix of cursing the NPC drivers and talking smack or just chilling is great. 6. Keep your eye on the fuel gauge, try counting how many fuel units are consumed per lap to be tactical whether you should go for a pit stop- when you plan to fo early, close to empty, or maybe going without a refuel at all to make up lost time. Believe it or not, the threat of running out of gas in a race is one of the most exciting and tension inducing parts of the game! 7. Slow down for the pit stop, it's better to go through a bit slower than ideal than to hit the barrels, miss it entirely and run out of gas... Here's to hoping you give it another go and have fun! Good luck to you!
One thing that seems to stand out whenever I try even an original nes or snes game and play it again is it seems harderthan when I was a kid! But I think it is me! I had more patience for games and way less choices back then! Was lucky to play own even a few snes games so I played until I finished them usually!
Did you find this game ( top Gear) ridiculously hard? Even on amateur , first country (USA) I can win in campaign, then after gets insane. I did beat game as a kid on SNES, maybe my reaction time got much worse since then. Still a fun game tho
Whoah, what's with the nasty generic menu and music? That doesn't fit the feel of the original games at all! Honestly this kind of ruins the games for me. I have an amazing amount of nostalgia as I played the SNES originals to death. Why did they not keep the original intros? The way it transitions from the new menu into the game at the start of a race, then back into the new menu after a race completely kills the feel and nostalgia. What were they thinking?! The best way to play these games on modern hardware is the Evercade. It has TR 1 and 2 fully intact, with intros and menus. Far better than this rubbish.
Top Gear 2 Sega Genesis version have better music why there choose Super Nintendo version that horrible. They better add Sega Genesis version in the future or I'm not buying it

Thanks for the pointers, appreciate you taking the time to type all of that out.
I found out that the music of Auckland and Canterbury plains have been switch on top racer 2.
Top Racer in Japan and Top Gear here.
No physical version? Went to GameStop this morning and couldn't find it. Checked on Amazon and couldn't find it, either...😕
Not that I know of, just a digital release right now.

Yes, I played on amateur and didn't place well on any of the games here.

I agree I hate the fact that the original menus are gone. The music was awesome.

Why would you want the crappy and inferior genesis version lol
@@cliffchampion5501they’re just blinded by their nostalgia for the version they grew up with.
