Lmao never stwr5 with an importan5 key first always do with the ones which are not commonly used like the num lock

My keyboard manual tells me not to try to disassemble or remove any parts, should I still try to remove the keys despite this?
I probably wouldn't then. Is it a mechanical keyboard? If you have the amazon link handy, send it my way, and I can see if I can find any info on if you can take it off or not.

My plastic keycap puller just comes off whenever I try to pull. I think it's a problem with its grip . Please help. It's similar to the one you used in the video

Luckly i got an cap removal tool with the hcman mechanical. Sometimes i remove a keycap just to see the switch.
It's always good to get a keyboard that offers a cap removal tool!

What about for a spacebar?
I personally prefer to take off some of the keys surrounding the space bar and then use my fingers to lift the space bar evenly from both sides.
Sorry for silly question. Is it alright to do this with the keyboard on and still plugged in? Like you don't have to turn the computer off or unplug it when removing keycaps?
You can have it plugged in, but I personally wouldn't just cause I'd be afraid of breaking it somehow 😂

Depends on the membrane keyboard. Some have removable caps, some don't. I suggest asking the company to be sure.

My keys feel hard to press down... they have since I bought them , is this recommended to do to fix them?
I do not think this would help. Try taking off a keycap and pressing down on the switch under it. If it is still hard to press down, then it is probably an issue with the switch. If it is just when you press the keycap, it may be too large and rubbing against the surrounding keycaps. However, I doubt this is the issue.

Great video, I was really worried that I would break something (because I broke my membrane keyboard lol) and so I didn't want to break my mechanical too. A nice short video that got straight to the point :)
for the outside keys you can just slide the remover underneath instead of pressing down on the sides. no scrapes

@@JoelPlay Yeah Ok. You can literally pull keycaps by hand in most mechanical keyboards but just for safety and for it not to break you can use a Keycap Puller, Don't just say to not listen to a person since you don't agree

If you don’t have this tool, 2 small flathead screwdrivers used at once from the side at same time does the trick too.
Might not be a good idea to use metal, increases the risk of breaking the keys on some boards.
Perfect, I'm glad you said this, I've been using two flat head screw drivers for years. I debated on getting this tool, but with the flatheads I get no marks on my keyboard and as long as you control the screw drivers and not pull the key cap up strongly it will be fine.
i did it with my fingers(yes myy spacebar and yy have double typing)

It should be noted that those keyboard removal tools vary STRONGLY in quality. The one that came with some o-rings I ordered seems about as crappy as the one you show in the video. But the one that came with my HyperX keyboard is more flexible, so it grabs the keys more easily and doesn't leave marks on the side. :)

You don’t need a keycap puller for a space bar right? This is for a friend who doesn’t believe me. I pulled it off for him but he is still hesitant
I would NOT recommend using a puller. Definitely recommend using your hands

Tip: Use a 2 butter knifes is you don’t have the real deal!

Thank you! I was able to switch the m and n keys on my brothers computer.
You can use 2 flat headed screw drivers on either side of the key cap to remove the key cap, ive been using this for years and have had no mistakes. As long as you control how hard your pulling up on the key cap there shouldnt be any trouble, doing this you're much less likely to get any marks on your keyboard too.

Wish you would have taken it one step more and shown how to replace the light switch button just under the cap as well..
Just use the back end of silverware if its flat, if it isnt then use a butter knife, the first bottom row will be a bit harder to remove as you dont have leverage but after you just slip the flat part under the key and with the naked keys you leverage and it comes of way easier, do a whole row at once and then remove them if you are cleaning the keyboard

You didn't even show the most important part, normal key is easy, but normally ppl would destroy something like stabilizer which normal button doesn't have.

im scared to do this now i owned a huntsman mini before i knew anything about keyboards i literally ripped the keycaps out and wrecked the switch now i have a apex pro and am too cautious now because these keycaps suck and i wan't to replace them with pudding keycaps
