The Story Behind "Holi On The Beach 2016"
So how did Manchester based Bollywood and Bhangra Entertainers Desi Jockeys celebrate Holi 2016?
DJ Bobby Akhiyan and DJ Micky of Desi Jockeys based in Manchester U.K. were invited to the Canary Island Lanzarote to headline the annual Holi event with their DJ, Dhol and Host services.
Holi is know as the festival of colour and is now celebrated around the world by both Hindu's and Non-Hindu's. The festival is held to welcome the spring with vibrant colour and to leave the evil behind.
This diverse event attracted over a thousand people from the local Hindu and Spanish community with some travelling as far as Tenerife, Spain and even the U.K to celebrate and be a part of this International event.
Set on the beachside, the day was full of fun and energy with a great selection of stalls selling dry colour powder (rang), colour water pumps (pichkari), water bombs, Indian and Spanish food, drinks and other refreshments.
With the scorching weather and clear blue sky's on the day, Desi Jockeys caused a meltdown in the town having the people jumping, dancing and chanting to Bollywood, Bhangra, Spanish and UK chart busters.
This event was given the name "Holi On The Beach" or #holionthebeach 2016.
