Texas hasn’t lost to the bottom feeders in the SEC like everyone else has. Either this conference is a gauntlet or it’s overrated. It’s tough to tell right now.
@@Football-Steveit’s a little bit of both. Every team has NFL talent. No one has been consistent this year, not even Texas. Texas still had the easiest to navigate schedule, there is a reason why upsets are called upsets. End of the day Georgia beat them, and that’s the only team they’ve played all year that still has a rank.

Who's everyone else you're referring to? GA hasn't lost to any bottom feeder. And the gauntlet is the physical nature of the SEC. Staying healthy the entire season is key. GA has had multiple starters injured the entire season. One of their healtiest game was vs. Texas, where they had roughly 80% of their starters healthy. Try playing a few of the big boys and see how healthy you can stay. And Texas didn't get to see what it's like when you have to play multiple big boys "Away."

Win/Loss Record mentality will kill college football. No more great regular season games… the big schools will load up on cupcakes, win by 50 in 5 out of the 12 games. The SEC & Big10 will continue to eat each other alive because the transfer portal has made things more even and even though 10 of the best teams will be from those two conferences, you’ll continue to have 2 crappy big12 schools, 3 middle of the road ACC teams, and a group of 6 get in because of “win/loss.” Strength of Schedule has to add weight to the decision making. A lot of weight.

There is precedent. An undefeated team was kept out of the playoffs last year.
The CFP was wrong in doing that and need to be held accountable

Let's get PASSIONATE about who should be in the CFP . . . PRIOR to the final game of the regular season AND prior to Conference Championships. (This is what you get when you want as many teams still eligible as late as possible. Enjoy.)
Y’all seem pretty upset that SC is getting consideration for a playoff spot saying “don’t lose 3 games then” but did you look at how they lost? It is a consensus in CFB that the refs sold that game against LSU. SC was also without their star QB in the second half of that game and the final still should’ve been 40-29. That said I think despite their 3 losses they should be looked at as a 2 loss team because they didn’t do anything to lose that LSU game. Every time they needed to respond, they did. They had 17 points taken away from them by terrible calls that have been no calls in countless other games this season, the phantom offensive PI call would’ve likely ended the game if not called and a late hit out of bounds not called gave LSU the ball back when it would’ve extended an SC drive well into LSU/ Field goal territory. That game was stolen point, blank, period and how SC lost, who they have beaten to avenge their close losses, and how they have won/played down the stretch should matter exponentially more than the 3 in the L column. Clemson has a chance to end consideration for SC easily this week, but if SC wins, especially by a large margin, and they don’t get in would be a travesty to the sport IMO. They would have more top 25 wins than any other team, A top 10 SOS and the highest opponent win percentage out of any team in the country. For them to not get in after proving they deserve a spot would be a sad day for college football. Especially if more chaos happens like Vandy beating Tenn, Auburn beating Bama, Syracuse beating Miami etc which are all plausible and not out of the realm of possibility.

That’s what I’m saying. Look at how teams lost, not just at the number in the column. It’s not that difficult guys.
Remember last year when the committee put Alabama in over undefeated FSU? And they all argued it was the “best” team and not the “most deserving?” That’s why there’s arguments about Indiana.
It always has been the most deserving even when everyone knows that team will get boat raced. At least that was the case until they screwed FSU. Now, why not put in SC over Indiana? Everyone knows they’re the better team.
Take Clemson out of the Top 12, they have no ranked wins. A bad loss vs UGA with the score of 34-3.
If multiple SEC teams didn't choke they wouldn't be in the top 12. And in this scenario they wouldn't even make the playoff.
Georgia with 2 losses should not be above Indiana Penn St ND or SMU. Indiana is in

@briandyer6809 I guess the play off will show, just like last year that the SEC isn't the same as it once was. Alabama got in and lost in the semi. If you want to prove you are a better conference do more head to head in non con. Florida got killed by miami who has struggled to get wins for much of the year. This logic is stupid
I personally think this is pretty close outside of rankings to what we will see. My only change would be dropping Miami out and putting Ole Miss in around 10-11. I think Miami falls out after losing to smu.

Well handled, gentlemen. Wins and losses count, or what does the season mean? Your top 12 is very good. Alabama, A&M, and Ole Miss are good teams, but they did not take care of business when they could have. And if the B10 and SEC "only" get 7 out of 12 playoff positions, cry me a river.

Penn state has beat nobody. Miami and Clemson should be 3 and 4 both are better than Texas who also hasn’t beaten anybody. Texas played one good team (Georgia) and looked awful.
I’d love to see a blind resume of Tennessee, Clemson & BYU. All have 2 losses. Tennessee has the worst loss vs Arkansas. BYU has the best win at SMU. And Clemson has no Top 25 wins at all and has two blowout losses. Yet it’s BYU that is being left out of the discussion entirely after a one score loss on the road at an opponent currently in the Top 16.
ASU is basically the "DEI hire", so why the HELL do they get a first-round bye! Why not just give the top 4 ranked teams the bye, regardless of conference? "Left-outs" Alabama and South Carolina would defeat ASU, so I'm kinda pissed that ASU even MAKES the dang playoffs in the first place! ASU is only ranked #15 in the AFCA poll today! Boise St. had to come from behind against (*gulp*) WYOMING, in the 4th quarter no less, and only won by 4 points! Hell, ASU beat Wyoming 48-7!!!
