To me, by exposing these secrets, it really makes me appreciate a magician a lot more, because it still takes a lot of skills and practice to pull it off.
They actually do "swallow" them. You basically need to train yourself to get rid of your gag reflex, and, ironically enough, avoid swallowing as it could lead to serious damage (look up "sword swallowing" on wikipedia). It's not an illusion, so much as just a very impressive (and dangerous) performance.
These tricks are amazing even today when done well. The act sells the tricks and makes the difference between a great show and a mediocre one. We have all seen the tricks but magic can be magical.
You need more than fake fingers to be a magician...Talent,and guts to perform in front of their eyes..Revealing secrets is nothing,work hard is everything
