Southern California Guinea Pig Rescue (SCGPR) is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of neglected, abandoned, and at-risk Guinea Pigs.
Our adoptable Guinea Pigs are cared for in homes by foster volunteers, and our organization operates entirely on donations. Our network spans the whole of Southern California, and we work to serve every community throughout Orange County, Los Angeles County, and Ventura County.

I'm grateful that you, once again, have stepped up to save a guinea pig in danger in our shelter system. It does make me angry and discouraged that most likely due to ignorance and unwillingness to learn, the shelters put these animals in even more danger instead of being the ones who have been charged to protect them, fulfilling their obligation.

Hier ist so etwas verboten und in der Schweiz sind die noch strenger, was den Tierschutz angeht. Umso wichtiger ist es, dass es Organisationen wie euch gibt. Danke ❤🙏
This absolutely breaks my heart they shouldn't try to put an animal to sleep because it's sick. We don't put people to sleep for being sick, so why should animals be euthanized for being sick ? It's not right. Thank god for you guys for being such great people who care for those without a voice who can't speak for themselves. It sounds to me like the shelter lied and just wanted one less animal. What a shame!! I'm so glad you all found this gorgeous sweet boy.

A lot of times shelters will do stuff like this out of sheer laziness. Run through a checklist of identifiable issues so that they don't have to spend resources to care for him.

He's absolutely gorgeous. Precious boy. Wow, what a sad, unnecessary situation humans create for other species. I hope one day that the world is way more attuned to other species, their needs, and that animal rights become a real thing. Thank you for all you do for piggies 💞

It's so sad to think of how close this beautiful boy came to being euthanized. Watching him eating that lettuce so ravenously shows that he has so much spirit and even with his teeth issues he's not giving up. At the very end of this video when he turned and looked directly at the camera the expression on his face was so adorable. Thank you so much for giving this lovely boy a second chance to live the life he truly deserves.

He's so adorable. I ended up with 4 piggies just buying from Petco with partnership of Barc. 3 were rescues and my fourth was there too long. People do better for these babies. They deserve a wonderful home.
