I don’t know WHY I watch every damn minute of Ryan’s show each week, but I can’t be bothered to quantify enjoyment. Plus, I don’t have to go outside and be cold. He does it.
You may find this comment odd, but I don't recall ever being as envious of another person's lifestyle as I am of yours. Been watching since the middle of last year. Great content, can't wait for the weekend to come to see the next installment every week. Keep it up.
Ok, I guess I have to ask. Whatever happened to the inspirational lead in quotations? The show is still stellar but those few precious words to ponder seemed to elevate my game to a whole new level and at the same time give you a chance to share your ear bud library with all of us. I liked them.
My Makita was new in 1990. It will cut anything. Best saw on my market in my opinion. You should use all your scrap wood to put a skirt around the cabin. It would keep it warmer in there.
Every Saturday nearly exactly the same minute. Man, whats wrong with you? Living in the forest but delivering like a mega pro he does. Love you. All the best from Munich, German,y. 😍🍻
Huge fan from AlbaNY. I spent decades in the furniture business. Love this project. Consider putting that small piece by the door, rather than the corner. Furniture makers will attach an end piece, so you don’t see the glue lines (and pieced-together boards). And it won’t be any extra work. Plus, it will be structurally more sound, because right now, your corner brace is only supporting a small board, rather than the greater weight of the bigger section. By the way, you were hysterical with your Ernest Hemingway shtick.
Doing a pain management program... they told me to find a "happy place".... yup... Ryan and Ringworm are now my "happy place"!! Love this guy and all his projects.
Love it love it. It’s going to be a Mansion after your tent.! Superb woodwork. Perfectionist to a degree. No mistake is a mistake it’s character added. U.K. here XXX
After watching you fabricate that corner I couldn't help but imaginate your gang all hanging out at the worm a whitlin and grinnin in some amazing rocking chairs you fashioned from gnarly branches.
Ryan, I have your solution for the picnic table planing! Take pics of all of your donors you have entered already, then use the hand planer to get all or at least 80% of the varnish off so the table planer will then grab and plane the boards one good day at a time! Take care of yourself! Just in case it hasn’t sunk in yet, the trio of you guys is PRICELESS! So much or you loner image! lol. 😅❤
LOL Hemmingway comments!! When you first said you just needed to build a bed and desk, I thought, how studious! Turns out the desk is big enough to serve 10 purposes! Awesome! Enjoying the (dry humor and) build! 👍😎🇨🇦🔨🌲❄💦
The desk is gorgeous! I look forward every week to your postings! You are living how everyone should be living. Our Earth would be much better off; maybe you will be seen as a pioneer for the next age for sustainability. 🌎
Wow, it sure does look fantastic! That table or desk can be an overnight bed...it is big enough. Take care, dear heart. Until your next video!! Be safe!
I always look forward to my Saturday morning (12pm ish UK time) coffee and watching the latest Ryan adventure. Not jealous in the slightest, honest😁👍🏻🍻🍻
I love watching what you create and how you "let's see what happens". Propane heat is contributing to the moisture issue, you hear about with the people that use in their RV's-watch for mildew. Glad you got the dehumidifier. One of the benefits of wood burning is the dry heat--but that is a lot of work. Cool desk.
As for the picnic boards: plane all the undersides, (non varnished), first. Then hand sand the the tops with your belt sander to just remove the varnish. Then there should be enough grip to plane the topsides through the planer. Oh, and be sure to varnish the underside of your fitted cedar table in the cabin too!
If you raised it to standard counter height, you could use a stool for desk work but also it would be a great work counter. Of course you would need a new slingshot. haha Looks beautiful. Well done!
To fill cracks like the one you poured varnish in, use some sawdust from cut/planning your boards, mix with glue to form a putty. Use this to fill the crack. The color is a near perfect match to the surrounding wood. The varnish really makes the grain pop!
Desk looks great. One tip with the Dewalt planar is to left up on the ends of the boards about an inch when you feed the board into the planar and when you catch it coming out of the planar. This will prevent the end of the board getting snipe before both feed rollers can keep the board pressed firmly against the bed of the tool.
I love how your desk came out! What beautiful wood tones and the varnish put on using a $1 paint brush! Nice job Ryan! Has to make you really look forward to Summer so you can plane and varnish or epoxy all the siding inside! Very well done!!! ❤❤
Ryan, were you able figure a way to keep mice and squirrels out of the deer blind? Something that would work for the legs would be rat guards like ships use when in port. Basically an upside down cone shape around each leg. Also the most realistic owl statue you can find! Put them on perches under the blind. I believe the owl would be a natural predator for both the mice and squirrels. Even better if you could find a recording of an owl hooting to play randomly! ❤
You should be able to adjust the tension on the feed rollers, wax the bottom table and when planning do one side of all the boards then do the other side that way your sure to have all boards one thickness.
Just a thought, those pretty rough edges you cut off would make beautiful finnels or back splashes mounted vertically behind your desk tops. Especially once varnished ! Purely decorative, artsy fartsy idea from an old man!
love the way the desk turned out. It's really amazing what you have been able to do with just raw lumber that you have created out of the trees you have. I am astounded at what you have been able to accomplish with what you have to work with. It's amazing. Keep up the great work..
Someone I know on RUclips beat you by a week on your reverse clamp idea! Country Road Cure is installing tongue and groove ceiling boards that they have stained and the combination of the stain and all of the high humidity levels inArkansas right now has the boards warping and bowing like crazy! They tried all sorts of tricks to combat it, but the best two methods was trim off the groove from about a 9” piece, and hammer the board into the groove. When the board is warped and bowed, they put a screw into a rafter and use the reverse clamp method to force the board into the groove so it can be nailed! Don’t worry, it does not take any of the luster off your like minded discovery! Let’s hear it for shade tree carpenters! ❤❤
I know the ventless propane heaters put out moisture. The one he is using is vented. It draws in our door air to feed the fire then expends the exhaust outside. It may not cause the moisture issues.
You’ve got this. That table looks fantastic. I look forward to Saturday’s and the latest installment on what’s going on at ringworm. Take care and be safe my friend!
I love the table. Your skills are never ending. Awesome job! Keep up the great work that you are doing on the cabin. Stay safe a nd be well my friend. Have a great one. Love a nd peace Bob Bitchin!
When you take the boards off to plane them, maybe take the time to install an electrical outlet that goes to another electrical outlet outside. So you don't have to run a cord though the window/door. Just plug in the generator to the outside one and plug in the laptop to the inside one. That will save some propane.
What a great channel! You are very industrious and it’s always a pleasure to watch someone else work. You still need to focus on the ceiling and floor.
My husband and I just love watching you every Saturday. Seen every episode! This desk you made is gorgeous! We also have an off grid property and love being there puttering around with projects.
Ryan In my old house I used that sterofoam like what you have in the back ground for under the flooring. It really helped keep the floor insulated. You are doing an amazing job. Love watching your videos and humor. Can't wait every week to see what your up to. ❄️🌨️
Ryan, just a thought. When you pull the wall boards down. run some electrical wire and install a few outlets with a pig tail wire under the cabin. This way you can plug generator in to charge batteries, run a few items and not have the door or window open. Again just a thought. Also a few led lights in the ceiling might be a good idea.
I have that same planer, I was also having trouble with the boards going through. I used paste wax on the stainless steel bed, now the boards go through with out any effort.
Really good show today. Table looks great, as expected. A little longer this week which I really like. The longer the better for us die-hards. See ya next week.
I have never been addicted to a channel....until this one! I look forward to every Saturday morning and a new adventure!!
I don’t know WHY I watch every damn minute of Ryan’s show each week, but I can’t be bothered to quantify enjoyment. Plus, I don’t have to go outside and be cold. He does it.
Same!
Yup! Has become part of my Saturday morning routine at this point.
Yea I to am in need of worm time every Saturday, I feel like a kid waiting for Saturday morning cartoons in the 80s lmao!!
You may find this comment odd, but I don't recall ever being as envious of another person's lifestyle as I am of yours. Been watching since the middle of last year. Great content, can't wait for the weekend to come to see the next installment every week. Keep it up.

This show brings me more joy now than Saturday morning cartoons did when I was a child. Thanks!
I can’t wait till. Saturday for your videos
My Makita was new in 1990. It will cut anything. Best saw on my market in my opinion. You should use all your scrap wood to put a skirt around the cabin. It would keep it warmer in there.
Best lumber...also one of your best videos ever. Beautiful work.
Every Saturday nearly exactly the same minute. Man, whats wrong with you?
Living in the forest but delivering like a mega pro he does.
Love you. All the best from Munich, German,y. 😍🍻
You should get a 30 dollar kreg jig for screwing table tops together. It works the same way you did it but makes the angle perfect every time.
This is his way. “Just do it!” 😂😂
@@private15 yeah I know
Agree, 1 of the best tools for blind screws.
To bad he doesn't spend money.
That’s pocket hole alright. Free hand style. I love it.
You are quite literally living every manly man's fantasy. I'm living vicariously through you.
Huge fan from AlbaNY. I spent decades in the furniture business. Love this project. Consider putting that small piece by the door, rather than the corner. I work with cedar also. You did a beautiful job. Thank you so much for sharing your life and work...no your life and play with us.
Lemon pie, black coffee n Ringworm. Holy crap that looks amazing
Nicely done from an old furniture maker!! -Curt
Your table is beautiful!!! Can’t wait to see how you build the bed !!!
Cedar is a gift that keeps on giving. Excellent choice.
Doing a pain management program... they told me to find a "happy place".... yup... Ryan and Ringworm are now my "happy place"!! Love this guy and all his projects.
The desk looks AMAZING!!!
I love the wood lines and tones popping.
Love it love it. It’s going to be a Mansion after your tent.! Superb woodwork. Perfectionist to a degree. No mistake is a mistake it’s character added. U.K. here XXX
The cabin is turning out really nice, and the desk is the crown jewel so far!
The desk looks absolutely fantastic!
Looks great. My week's blah goes away every Saturday after watching your video.
Good morning, and thanks for the welcome. Having breakfast and watching the "Worm".
What could be better?
We love watching your videos. Keep up the good work!
The desk turned out amazing . Love all the little quirks. Love when an unplan comes together .
Your videos make my day every Saturday ! You are Very entertaining and I wish I could live like you do !
I love the way the figure came out in the wood when you varnished the table top.
That Y crotch piece for the table leg is totally a feature piece. It looks beautiful!
After watching you fabricate that corner I couldn't help but imaginate your gang all hanging out at the worm a whitlin and grinnin in some amazing rocking chairs you fashioned from gnarly branches.
FBI (Future Build Idea): Rain water catchment system. Love the desk and the book club recommendation. Another fun Saturday at the Worm.

It was 3am when I started watching. Couldn't wait til morning 🌋🏝🌊
Had to laugh at the shovel thing, I've done that too!
Super beautiful corner table, desk, work bench, thingamabob. 👍
Per a previous comment; I can’t wait for the next video! Thanks so much. You make my day!😊
Watching you drive the shooting range, I'm thinking about the old green 4-wheeler. The red really pops. I'm glad you haven't changed it.
It's always a pleasure visiting The Worm. Thanks for the video Ryan!

Nice! Cedar has such character. Happy building!
LOL Hemmingway comments!! When you first said you just needed to build a bed and desk, I thought, how studious! Turns out the desk is big enough to serve 10 purposes! Awesome! Enjoying the (dry humor and) build! 👍😎🇨🇦🔨🌲❄💦

Love, love the table, your cabin is filling up fast, making your bed is next, I love how your brain works, definitely getting better at milling
Very nice table. I can imagine how hard it must be to make it happen but the satisfaction is worth it.
Priceless work.
Loved the corner bit
👍🏽🏴
That wood grain is really beautiful

That desk is a work of art.

Ryan, it’s coming along. Beautiful table and finish
That’s just beautiful ❤ love wood so much ❤ grating from Denmark 🇩🇰🇬🇱
Absolutely beautiful! That's counter top quality! I could see that in a cabin kitchen
I'd be scribing the wavy edges onto the abutting board and use the jigsaw to cut off the waves. Fit together cool like a - - jigsaw puzzle!
On that corner pc. I would have screwed it from the back so no screws would have been showing. Keep up the good work and be safe !
To fill cracks like the one you poured varnish in, use some sawdust from cut/planning your boards, mix with glue to form a putty. Use this to fill the crack. The color is a near perfect match to the surrounding wood.
The varnish really makes the grain pop!
Nice job on the desk 👍 👌 👏 😀
Northern Michigan is very beautiful, Nice views of the snow covered woods 🙂
That's a beautiful desk ringworm!
Sandpaper binder is genius
Everything is looking fabulous! 👍🙌😊
Great job mr worm. Desk looks great. Way to make magic out of a mistake.

I enjoyed your video, just a little. I watched it twice! The character of wood, is amazing. I definitely agree. Carry on having wayword fun.
The desk looks real purty for sure!
Livin’ The Dream!
👍🏻🔥👍🏻
mighty purty, indeed.
I love how your desk came out! What beautiful wood tones and the varnish put on using a $1 paint brush! Nice job Ryan! Has to make you really look forward to Summer so you can plane and varnish or epoxy all the siding inside! Very well done!!! ❤❤
Looks absolutely amazing bud. Well done!👍🇺🇸
What an incredible difference with the varnish....love it !!!

Week after week I watch Ryan and I feel like he's documenting the evolution of man! Thank you for making my Saturday morning wonderful!

I'm addicted to your channel. UP is cool.I was also fond of Northwood of Wisc.
The propane heater creates the extra humidity plus the wet wood. The dehumidifier will definitely help.

i cant wait for the day the floor goes in. its gonna be interesting to see how you go about it
Awesome build
Love all the hard work
My 2 cents try different color stains
Hi Ryan, maybe try pocket hole screws. I have the Kreg kit. It really works.
Great video
Hey Ryan love the furniture! I had heard that liquid gas creates humidity. That's one of the draw backs on using it for a heat source.
I know the ventless propane heaters put out moisture. The one he is using is vented. It draws in our door air to feed the fire then expends the exhaust outside. It may not cause the moisture issues.
I have a vented propane furnace in my truck camper, no moisture problem!
Must be a shipmate from a long ago on a WestPac cruise aboard the Midway!
Did you know a guy named Joe Zarlengo from Youngstown?
Wow Ryan the desk is beautiful be happy be safe
You’ve got this. That table looks fantastic. I look forward to Saturday’s and the latest installment on what’s going on at ringworm. Take care and be safe my friend!
This looks great that lumber has some nice natural look great work as always
For the varnished table top, you may be able to hand sand, or use a hand planer, or grinder if you have one. Then run through the planer.
Evening Ringers!
I love the table. Your skills are never ending. Awesome job! Keep up the great work that you are doing on the cabin. Stay safe a nd be well my friend. Have a great one. Love a nd peace Bob Bitchin!

Oh the colors in the wish bone sooo beautiful. I cried when you cut the edges off the cedar for the desk so exciting. Another great video!
My husband and I just love watching you every Saturday. Seen every episode!
This desk you made is gorgeous!
We also have an off grid property and love being there puttering around with projects.

Ok now you did it I got to go build something so I can put varnish on it. Thanks a lot! Ha!
Wow ! That came out good !!
Very nice job but you always do a very nice work it looks excellent when you get it all finished it’s going on lucky even better than us
I have that same planer, I was also having trouble with the boards going through. I used paste wax on the stainless steel bed, now the boards go through with out any effort.
Try a Skidoo on your trails, works great for skidding logs if you build a dre or sled. You could skid huge pine logs with no effort on a packed trail.
Love it! Highlight of the week!
Really good show today. Table looks great, as expected. A little longer this week which I really like. The longer the better for us die-hards. See ya next week.
