CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Mui (Wei Zhao) impresses Steel Leg (Stephen Chow) with her use of kung fu techniques to make sweet buns.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
One of Hong Kong's top screen comics, Stephen Chow, co-wrote, co-directed, and headlines this three-way blend of sports, action, and humor. Sing (Stephen Chow) is a modern-day Shaolin monk who has become a master of traditional fighting skills, and is renowned for his "leg of steel." However, these days there isn't much call for a Shaolin warrior, and Sing and his fellow monks earn their keep working menial jobs until a soccer coach gets the bright idea of translating Sing's talent for kicking to the soccer field. Sing becomes the lynchpin of a team playing in a tournament that could net them a $1 million purse, but even with Sing's footwork, beating the steroid-fueled champions will be no easy task. Shaolin Soccer also features Man Tat Ng and Vicki Zhao.

This girl was such a sweetheart. When that guy took buns and gave her ripped, dirty shoes in return, she actually sewed up the shoes without any grudge.

She had a crush on him that's why
It's because she loved him.. don't try this at home

Should've had Stephen Chow direct The Last Airbender.
Agreed
I second that.

It's a good thing it's not underrated at all! Stephen chows work is quite extensive and if you're not Asian I could imagine you are missing a bunch of Stephen chow movies. I know shaolin soccer and king fu hustle are the huge releases, but he has some really old lower budget films that are just as hilarious. There is one where he is a masked super hero, except he only has a Garfield mask. There is another film exactly like shaolin soccer, but instead of a soccer theme he cooks food using kung fu.

1:00 this part was absolutely beautiful with that music, camera angle, action. Perfection at its peak!
Is this the movie where, the girl's boss (I think) fired her because her buns were salty, but they were salty because she was crying in them?

That's the chef Ramsay wouldn't mess with...
Idk if it’s the nostalgia or what, but these cheesy scenes are awesome to me. Same with Kung Fu hustle.
Seriously, the parting of the dough itself is art...
My brother and I always used to laugh at Stephen Chow just breaking out into song like that lol.
0:15 I was practising this in our kitchen until my mom saw me and now i am grounded for a month

My childhood craze! Such a masterpiece movie! No movies today can stand upto this one.. That's why it brought me back again here..
This is better live action anime version than most of the live action animes in Hollywood(except alita) and ironically it doesn’t have any anime or manga of it (as far as I know)

OMG this came out when I was in elementary school. Total crazy nostalgia. Stephen Chow is a HK movie legend. I hope some of his older and more controversial movies don't get censored by the recent CCP crackdown on free speech. A few of his earliest ones were hilarious.
My mom watched this then after she said "Don't play with your food" made me laugh.
I always lose it when he starts singing. 🤣
vicky zhao is an absolute stunner irl
Yay, cantonese version the best version, original version. Stephen chow is my idol he is so famous. He is king of comedy. I love him forever😄😄😄😄😆😆😆😆.

When I was a kid She was my First Ever Celebrity Crush... Zhao Wei is the prettiest and still the prettiest Celebrity in all of China for me. Beauty that is rare like jewel unlike like how beauty is interpreted today.

The writers of this movie has a incredible sense of humor.
This was in the deep depths of my memory and then its in my recommendations 😭😂
yo this movie was one of those movies you accidentally stumbled upon on the SBS channel I remember being 10 years old and it was exactly 12 midnight friday night my mom allowed my freinds to sleep over and then bam we flicked to SBS channel and seen exactly this scene of the lady making the buns we ended up watching the whole thing laughing from start to the end now 13 years later i finally found it again what a movie this was....
P.S i wanted to try the buns then when i was 10 and 13 years later i still do hahah
This is so cool, remember watching this as a kid.

I saw this movie in rehab when I was in my early 20s. I thought someone had dosed me.
Lol it's been so many years and I remember everything, what a great movie!
So this was a memory I kept deep inside my head that could only be remembered by stumbling accidentally through RUclips's crazy recommendation algorithm.
I can do that. Here hold my beer.
Didnt notice how cute she was! its a shame she shaved her head in the end..
Looks way better shaved
Jenshie 02 her hair was probably the cause of her acne. See how it's all over her face?
dreamsinaraindrop long hair shouldn't give you acne though
Makayla Cunning Well, the issue isn't that she has long hair. The reason I would suspect it's her hair is because she prob has acne prone skin and her hair serves as an irritant. Working all day making buns, her hair is prob caked up with sweat and flour. Which is constantly in her face. This is just my speculation though xD
Kinda like someone with hair product in their hair, and has bangs. You would usually see pimples or breakouts on their forehead if they are acne prone.
dreamsinaraindrop lol yea true i used to wear bangs alot but i never got acne from it. I guess i have good skin
Loved this movie
