And just a little side info, of the 9 members of ZB1 Matthew, Zhanghao, and Ricky are the forgen members. -Zhang hao is Chinese - Ricky is also Chinese but did go to school in the US (idk how long) so he his fluent in English and Mandarin -Matthew is ethnically Korean but born and raised in Canada (hence why he is called Canada oppa)

I love that you are getting into ZB1. I didn't watch them on the survival show that formed the group because reality shows stress me out. I only started following them after their debut. I LOVE their chaotic energy, they are seriously so funny. Matthew is definitely a shock to the system for the hosts of Korean variety shows. That guy is a total extrovert and has zero filter. He is hilarious! I just caught up on their ZBtv episodes and the Mafia game made me laugh SO much! ZB1 is made up of 9 members and was created through a survival program called Boys Planet. Jiwoong (eldest), Hanbin (leader), Taerae, Gyuvin, Gunwook, and Yujin (youngest) are all Korean. Matthew is Canadian, and Hao (got first place/center position on Boys Planet) and Ricky are Chinese. Ricky lived in the US for a while, so he is pretty fluent in English, which is why his swearing mostly comes out in English! He and Matthew will often talk in English instead of Korean when it's just the 2 of them.
well i've been binge watching your zb1 videos and thought you might need some context bcoz ben kim you look confused af 😂 so 94-95 guys went on a survival show called boys planet where they had to compete with each other through performances and go through rounds of votings and eliminations to earn a spot among 9 spots in zerobaseone (zb1) (the name was announced on the finale of boys planet and that's why in a previous video, jiwoong, the eldest was confused with the name). they prepared for performances(like tests) with random other trainees (some zb1 members often ended up together in one team, ofc) and then fan votings would take place, eliminations will occur reducing the participants to about a half than the previous performance and be given the next 'test'. (lets say first round had 94 trainees, 2nd round had 50 something, 3rd had 28, and final round had 18 and then 9 finalists were chosen) the members we see today in zb1 all were voted as 'top 9' during the finale or final round. the reactions in the beginning of one of your videos were their reaction to winning their spot in the group. that's why on their 'first schedule' you felt like they somewhat know each other coz they participated on that show together for like 5-6 months. some trainees were friends even before the show as they trained together in same company (like ricky hao yujin and gyuvin in yuehua ent. and hanbin and matthew in cube for some time in the past before they moved on to another companies). also in some of the 'boys planet' clips we watch, some might not be in zb1 today coz they were eliminated. a clip you watched where there were many boys sitting together in the stairs, was a clip from there, so a lot of boys planet trainees sitting together.
