@@ameliarosescloset just my observation. Maybe try put some of the unused bags away & see if you miss using them? If not, maybe it’s time to let go & make room for new one? 🤔
I used to make myself feel so guilty about bags I didn't use. I owned the multicoloured speedy for 7 years and in those 7 years I used it only 2 or 3 times. I loved the bag so much but I struggled to style it. All those colours clashed with my clothes. I ended up selling it and that was truly a mistake and a regret, I miss it so much and I'm constantly online looking for that speedy again to repurchase again, but it's so hard to find one I'm happy with.
After that I realised it's okay if I don't use my bags often. I am a bit like you and use my Neverfull and pochette Métis daily and hardly use my other bags unless it's a dinner or special event. Having them in my bedroom on display and rearranging my display brings me so much joy. I even do this silly thing where I'll pick a bag out and bring it to the living room to watch a movie with me 😂 like it's a toy.

I think everyone is different. I personally love most of my purchases to be based on utility. I like the idea of using what I own and keep a capsule wardrobe for that purpose. However, there are a few things out there that when I have the disposable income I just love to buy and collect just for the sake of it. The Lady Dior and Manohlo Hangisi are two of those items. Do I really need them in every colour and style? No I do not but I LOVE looking at them so much that I don't mind just having them in my closet for me to see. But when I do buy them, I know it is not with the intention of getting much use out of them. Some of those pieces are truly like art for me.

One way to find out if you really love them is look ahead at the events in your calendar and make the bag the hero piece of the event and build your outfit around that bag. Have someone take a photo of you in the outfit with the bag, reflect and see how it made you feel in public, the compliments you get on it and you will have a good idea of if it's worth keeping. This always saves me! Some items I've fallen in love with all over again I just had to be intentional about making a point to wear it. It's a fun challenge!

The coral Chanel bag is stunning and I think it suits you. Maybe next time when you’re shopping for clothes, keep her in mind. Get her some clothes! Also if you have similar color shoes, they probably go well together!

One thing that has helped me a lot (and will also be interesting to analyze at the end) is I keep a note in my phone on which bag I use each day. It actually encourages me to use them all since I don’t want any to “not make the list.” ❤❤

Great idea. I have around 80 bags and I don't want to sell but I wanna rotate them. So I am making an intention to wear at least one different every week. That way I know I have bags that are not used a lot however I know I'll get to them eventually and that will extend the longevity of all my bags so I don't feel like they're a waste or guilty. I wanted to downsize but lately I have been quite happy just thinking ooh which one will I wear next :)

The pink Luis Vuitton gives me Elle Woods vibes 😂...I think you can let it go...the Channel Burgundy is beautiful but me personally I am not into that color so I see why you can't use it so much. But the Coral Channel is AMAZING 😍 from every aspect, it just lightens your face, you can wear it on neutrals to give the outfit a vibe, will be great with aqua colors in summer, you can dress it up or down. Just keep it and think of ways to use it.

Honestly I used to be guilty over bags I didn’t use often because I have a lot (not even a brag just the reality) but honestly I’ve sort of grown past that because I think once you accumulate so many bags it can be hard to use them constantly since there’s so many options, and with options comes a beautiful collection so I’ve became okay with it. But even I’ve had times where a bag has sat for too long and I’ve came to an ultimatum with it to either use it or sell it. I think it’s good to have that but at the end of the day I’ve tried to live with no (handbag) regrets.

I’m surprised by your least used bags. I try not to buy too many bags in the same color combos for this reason. I’m afraid I’d reach for the same “pink” bag over the other “pink” bags.

I think seasonal bags don’t really count because you’ll use them in summer. I don’t know about Ireland, but Scotland is enjoying some very hot, sunny weather at the moment. It’s our changeable weather that makes colourful bags so useable. As always I really enjoy your lists.

Hey Amelia, love your videos! One thing I noticed is that most of your least used bags are outside your standard color palate. Do you have shoes to to go with them? I had one purse that I never reached for even though I loved it, and then I realized I didn't have shoes that "sang" with the bag. I found the perfect shoes, and now the bag gets used. :) take care!

I love your collection and you can do whatever you want of course but of I were you I would consider letting go the Gabrielle and LV twist. If I am not mistaken you have had them for a long time and you are not wearing them. The bright coral Chanel is still new, I think you will eventually use it once you start finding the right outfits 😊

Oh God..I get the guilt.I hate making bag buying mistakes. Fortunately not too many now but in my first year I bought a YSL downtown Cabas which was out of style in the boutique. It was expensive and I never use it.

I have the same Chanel Pink one you have but mine is in black and it's gorgeous and one of my favorites! It's such a great size - the pocket on the back holds a phone and it's so cute- can be worn so many ways.

Do not feel guilty for having bags you love but haven’t physically used. You enjoy looking at them. No different to me investing in art and enjoying looking at things- I have a Bob Dylan on the wall- I tell you he can’t carry anything and has never left the house too 😂 But he’s an investment and makes me happy xx

We all have wayyyy too many. But that doesn’t mean we should feel guilty about not using them a lot. Think bigger. Over a lifetime, they will all be used for something . So enjoy them when you can and don’t worry about it. That’s what I do.😀

What about if in the summer you put away everything else and only use the ones you plan for summer. That way, they will get their time, and you will look forward to using the other bags in other seasons.

I’m sure they’ll all get their day eventually. Don’t feel bad about having the same colour…there is a women out there who only wears purple & lives in a purple house. As long as you don’t paint the entire house that colour, you’re doing fine. They’ll have their turn someday

I like these videos it makes you think of your own collection, I try and rotate mine daily and usually post my botd on instagram so you can see if you haven’t used one in a while. Im pretty brutal tho I sell if I don’t use I do worry I’ll regret it tho especially with the price increases! ❤

I think it’s a mix of a large collection. Also we just go in and out of how we wear our clothes. Also it’s also kinda hard to know how things will actually work out in the 5-10 minutes we see things in the store.
I had a black coach bag (looks like the ysl Cassandra) that was sitting in my closet for about 2 years. My style changed slightly (bought some black loafers lol) and she got constant use last winter. I plan to use her this winter too.
this happened with my magenta coco crush, I never wore her and actually considered selling, so glad I didn't. I do think part of it is I have too many at the minute

I noticed all of your least used bags are pink tones. Some of us are attracted to certain colours. My colour is cranberry or burgundy. Sometimes it helps to be aware of the shade you are drawn to buy.
I think I am learning more what works but I have learned maybe a bit late!

Many folks buy very expensive artwork just to hang on their walls and enjoy. If a bag is gorgeous and you get all tingly just looking at her, case closed. To me that’s the same as a fine piece of art. Don’t waste a second feeling guilty.

I've recently added the mini capucines go my Wishlist. I've never been a top handle bag girl but I figure I maybe should have one. And it's (don't get mad at me for saying this) imho more aesthetically pleasing than a Kelly bag 😬
its a pity the resale value is so poor for capucines. Even though I don't plan on selling any of my bags, for some reason that puts me off.
Finally someone like me that prefers the capucine over the Kelly! I love the details on the capucine, I have 2 minis and love them. I don’t resell my bags so I never really look at the resale value, I buy only what I love.
@@Bestlifemiddleage yes! Definitely. I don't want to offend people who love birkins and Kelly's but they're not my style. I do know the craftsmanship and history are amazing. I'm kind of glad I don't lust after those bags because I have no patience for games of going on a "journey". I buy homewares from Hermes because I genuinely like them but I have never bothered forming any sort of relationship w an associate.
The mini capucines are cute and I surprised myself by starting to like it and adding it to my Wishlist because I don't own any top handle bags yet! Unless you consider the chanel 19 as having a top handle 😊
I have only sold one of my bags. It was the Gucci super mini I bought on a whim. I used for quite a bit but decided to replace it with an LV pochette Felicie in the same colour (red).
@@gigisplayground4657 I love my Birkins and my other Hermès bags. But aesthetically I prefer the capucine over the Kelly since they have the same shape. But yes. Hermès has my ❤️ for other bags.☺️

So far I don't wear bags on the crook of my arm or carried by a top handle any more. My hands are quite vein-y already (haha) so I'm paranoid about too handle bags and have just defaulted to cross body or shoulder wearing bags. I also get sweaty hands 🤣

Amelia, can you refer some reputable sellers who can source a Chanel bag for me. The bag I wanted was just on fashionphile and I waited too long considering it and it SOLD 🤦🏿, now I can't get it out of my mind!

The orange bag with the chunky handle, let’s call her Dina. It looks like Dina’s strap is still wrapped like it’s brand new. If so, then Dina is more than new, you never got ready to wear her at all. That’s ok, but that puts Dina in the museum level. Maybe she goes in the contemporary museum, not in the same place as the Petit Mal, but Dina might be on a pedestal nevertheless

Amelia that first. Chanel bag you didn’t talk with a lot of passion but that Coral Chanel you did talk about her with lots of passion and I picked up that you felt “you SHOULD “ feel guilty for not using her at those prices BUT something an Art 🖼️ Piece is inexpensive and sometimes an Art 🖼️ piece is very expensive but they are both art pieces. So maybe give yourself a pass on the Coral Chanel and view it like the LV Trunk bag for the next 6months or so and see if you can make an effort to use her and or let her sit and be an art piece or both and see how you feel. In my opinion I feel if you get rid of her or put her in the regret pile that you will regret that. Because your face did light up when you talked about the Coral bag like you did the LV bag but I think your making yourself feel guilty for not using it because of some of the reasons you mentioned in your “why I hide my Luxury Bag” when you say you should, a lot of times we say that because we are judging ourselves through our perceived judgment of being judged by others.
