Archival footage shot by an amateur filmmaker while spending a holiday in the United States, probably in 1976
It contains stock footage of San Francisco, California: Villa Roma Motor Hotel, North Beach district, the Golden Gate Bridge and panoramas of the city from the Battery East Vista, a USS carrier warship docking in San Francisco Harbor, the Transamerica Pyramid, people riding the cable car, the old cable car terminal, Fisherman's Wharf cable car stop, an African American man playing music in front of the Ramada Inn hotel, Pier 39 with boats and yachts docking, Central Embarcadero Piers Historic District, Alcatraz Island, the City Hall and the Supreme Court of California, the War Memorial Opera House in Grove road, Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, St. Paulus Lutheran Church in Eddy Street, the oval-shaped Music Concourse open-air plaza and Conservatory of Flowers in the Golden Gate Park, and more.

Native San Franciscan. Maybe more murders in the 70’s but the quality of life was far better. No Homeless tent cities, out of control mentally ill, affordable cost of living etc. Far left politics have destroyed this town. I choose to move back here, but we deserve far better

I would do anything to be in SF in the 1970s it was the best decade.
Now too bad crime is at it's worst than ever before and homeless and mentally ill has taken over. 😔
