Koy Detmer's moment in the sun before he was tragically injured. Man was he on fire this night.
I feel like it was a one game wonder type thing because they had no tape on him.
@Jeremy Krause That gives you an advantage, but Andy Reid has always had success with backups when McNabb got hurt. Detmer, AJ Feeley, Jeff Garcia, who was an already established pro, and even Kevin Kolb. Throw in Michael Vick too I suppose even though he was more Kolb's replacement after McNabb went to DC.
@@spinner9057 Reid definitely is a great coach but I don’t think Detmer was really that good. Nice guy who is smart but he looked like a high school quarterback.

The 49ers ensemble and helmet logo worn during this game are the best in team history. Sometimes you just gotta leave well alone. The current 49ers uniforms are nowhere near as good.

One thing that I feel like needs to be mentioned. Jeff Chandler is a rookie, drafted in the 4th round (102nd overall), and He's attempting his first NFL Field Goal in week 12. The NFL was a different place back in 2002...
This was a masterfully called game by Reid. Koy always had the "it" factor. There were a couple drops in this game that would have even made this more legendary. Ppl shit on Pinkston but he tried his ass off in the run block game.
Brian Mitchell was so good.

I totally forgot Antonio Freeman played for Philly for a hot minute.
He was a good third receiver for them and the fact they had to go get him showed just how bad Freddie Mitchell was coming along as a receiver.
Koy played his ass off in this game.
Starting with this game, the 49ers have SUCKED against the Eagles this century.

Koy first play was a sack. he fell down without being touched. he got up and wrecked the niners at old Candelstick Park.. Koy balled out. Deuce played great too. great win..
Most of the reason for Koy freaking out and doing that all time celebration is because 1) he loves ball 2) he knew where to go w the ball and accurately diagnosed defense and executed. Greatest trait
That interception by Troy Vincent was NO INTERFERENCE @ ALL!!!! He played the 🏈 and made a helluva play!!!!!!! The ref who called that is like 106 yrs old n needs 2 hang up his whistle!!!!

Eagles historically always had MONEY back up QBS, and IMAGINE IF Mcnabb didn't have Thrash, Lewis, Pinkston, Mitchell etc and had Owens and other prominent wideouts the Eagles would of had a couple of rings in the early to mid 2000's
