- Finally the Beast Class arrives in FGO! And our first citizen is Rome herself, Draco, aka Nero or Mother Harlot. The wearer of 7 Crowns shows why she's to be considered with 1.5 times effectiveness against all the main 7 classes (2.0 for berserker) and super effective damage on her NP. In this we go over her kit and possibilities for the future.

Disclaimer: I've looked into the claims of her third form possibility having a different NP type, I don't think will be the case anymore. What do you guys think of our first beast class unit? I think we’re all hoping the 3rd ascension is BIG Draco. I think the downtime of her Grail status buffs could be a pain, maybe you can run her with double Koyan just for the skill cooldown cut? Or pray for an arts support that does the same thing? I was thinking about playing JP just for this event but the process of actually getting a JP Google account as someone in NA seems like a pain.

@@fatcat2015 You'll probably just run her with Tamamo. Too bad Draco's NP per turn isn't party wide. Tammy could really use some of that.
Exactly, they're just claiming out of their asses. And also I thought we were tired of seeing AOE NP servants and now we got an ST NP, they want a skill that turns her NP into AOE? The skill is already there. If there is an option to change her NP, either we would've gotten it already in Draco's skills or Lasengle would make a "buff" to one of her skills to turn the NP to AOE once the 3rd ascension is available.

Tiamat is Blue with a Buster NP
and Draco is Red with an Arts NP
In case you didn’t mention it in the video, her 1.5x modifier to base classes on her NP only applies to SERVANT base classes, not trash mobs who are assigned to those classes. It really diminishes her single target farming numbers against non servant enemies

In most cases, 90+ nodes included, the final wave is 1 servant with insane HP so she will do fine with this. And this prob will be her main use - smash this huge bar to pieces. Even if there be some trash mobs then you can pick some AOE servant with super Kaleidoscope or smth.

I like what they did with her so far; I appreciate your breakdown, really helps makes sense of what is going on with her. I heard a lot of talk about her Class effectiveness pairing with her overcharge effect and what I heard made it sound like the numbers were a lot higher than they actually are. It was helpful to hear a proper breakdown of the numbers, puts things into context better.
Looking forward to seeing her Third Ascension form! I think we all know what's coming.
You missed the note where her Grail trait buff lasts 3 turns. In actuality, you'll only have problems syncing the skills by the fourth rotation. If the fights are lasting that long, she's probably already dead or there's better options for the fight to begin with.
That would be so cool if she has a melusine type final ascension. maybe it would also explain why she doesn't have an arts up in her kit? but i doubt it TBH.
They nailed it in terms of the first official Beast class. So glad they really delivered it with her kit. There's a lot of fun elements to it and she really leaves herself capable of hitting hard. Plus since she's not the welfare that means multiple ascensions to enjoy. First two look great and I'm sure the third will not disappoint when revealed. A good single target servant and we haven't gotten one of those in a while! Against the original Fate classes...she's a nightmare! The natural and NP damage buff for that purpose is pretty fantastic!
I don't think the grail status will be a huge deal. The status itself lasts 3 turns. So it's going to take a few loops of her skills for there to be any need to start waiting to pop the second skill. If a fight is taking that long...something else is going wrong. I guess it can depend on how you read the skill. But it sounds like it just needs to check for grail status when activating the third skill and after that it's going to happen.
There’s a command code thing obtainable in the event that applies Roman trait to the enemy for three turns on one of your face cards. So 100,000 is gonna be easier.

Just a little question, what's the problem about the second skill having a 6 turns cooldown when its grail status last for 3 turns ? You can use the third skill one turn later and still get every effects
I read it as those buffs only last as long as you have the Grail status, but if it only matters at the time of the skill use, then you are correct.
I am SUPER EXCITED for Draco, especially if we get Big Draco for ascension 3

I got Umu Lily Alter, Mother and Shroomgirl by sheer luck in 20 Rolls and after trying her, I must say, she feels extremely satisfying to play (especially her Arts-Laser). If I get so far, I will grail her to 120, probably my most favorite Servant since Spishtar.
17:00 couldn't one use a character that could apply those traits to enemies for Draco to hit her niches? Sort of like the Roma and Siegfried teams? I don't know how useful that will be considering you're locking one or more team slots for the gimmick. On top of it being a bit challenging to cycle to other supports.
It’s less restrictive than you might think because this event also introduces a new command code that applies Roman trait to an enemy when attacking for 5 turns. So you just need Georgios.
@@mrsheldon9134 Right on. the RNG isn't too bad in that regard then. A standard opening gambit of Georgios and Chen Gong can easily cycle in double Castoria for the start of turn 2.
Would be nice to se how she is compared to other 1.5 effective classes like zerks or pretenders/alter egos. Seems to only be topped by Kintoki and MHXA (and NP4 Hephaestion, which can be realisting for 4*). Seems wild. Also, she has survivability in terms of class advantage (compared to zerkers) and castoria supports, so looks like a decent option for CQs.
8-hit ST Arts NP.
She didn't just break the ST curse, she blew it up.
Let's not celebrate too early. They will still need to release a ton of ST SSR servants to remedy the imbalance that they created.

I need advice. I wanna know if collab banners rerun or if I will only have one chance to get her ever. I have to decide if I have to skip to a at for her, or if I can get Draco in a future banner.
Goetia probably will become next Beast class servant.
Proto Merlin looks like she can work well with her
I will say, I don't think her lack of hard survivability is an issue. She already resists the vast majority of enemies in the game affinity-wise, that's survivable in and of itself.
Also, although Draco is the only Roman+Dragon unit in the game, Quirinus can add Roman and Georgios can add Dragon, so those numbers are more achievable than, say, Scathach's Undead+Divine niche.
The problem of lacking an hard defense it's that you deppend of supports, not like someone like vlad or Galatea (Permanent servants)
Or like Taira, Herc and Cu. That's means her Solo runs will be more dificult and you have to time and save some defense abbilities.
Some cases could low her damage a bit or well make you unsure if she can live after a hit
Putting aside gameplay for Draco and the Beast class announcement which was hyped on the stream, I will agree with what a friend said :
"Beast as a servant class was bound to happen at some point in FGO, I just felt that it should have been on a more impactful moment in the main story or at the end of the story and our first Beast should have been Goetia/Solomon".
I kinda share that sentiment myself but I follow the story when it releases on NA so I can not say what happens in JP. Maybe there everything is explained XD........
Personally for Draco now I would really like to see her 3rd ascension having an AOE type NP and or having completely different card deck and even skills. For the NP and the skills they have the technology to do it (Melusine) and it would make our first Beast even more unique at the very least. That comes from the premise that we already know that a Beast needs to "mature" to be at full power and Love Humanity to be a true Threat to Humanity aka a Beast (correct me if I am wrong here ^.^;). So nothing stops them from using that "maturity" aspect for the 3rd and final ascension in a way to have a complete deck/skills/NP change. The problem with that though would be the inability to choose your favorite ascension and play with since the loli form will be focused on ST while the grown up form in AOE, like in Melsuines case but even more so since it will not be tide to a skill that "transforms" you when using it on command.
Thinking of it now one way they could avoid the Melusine problem (of not having a 3rd skill as a ST) would be to use the "Holy Grail Trait" that she gets from her second Skill along with the "choose if" system that Kukulkan also has. Simply put as long as she doesn't have the grail status she remains at her loli form and is a ST but gains all the buffs (currently) in her 3rd skills regardless. But if you choose to get the Grail Status her 3rd skill would completely transform her and change all her skills and NP and would be irreversible. The "using my favorite" ascension form problem would still remain though unless they implement a system for it.
Would that be unique? So and so, you would get a new servant that embodies two new interesting and flexible mechanics added in the game in the past 2 years (Melusines NP and skill change mechanic and Kukulkans Choose Skill Power Up if X condition). And what better way to have introduced the Beast class ^.^;.....and a new UMU!!!
Those are my 2 cents for Draco. We still do not know what her 3rd ascension might bring but regardless I will still roll for a copy since she is our first Beast and Umu when she comes over in NA *^>^*...
Anyway thumbs up to the developers for saying that each Beast servant will be completely unique in its affinities (and I assume in its abilities?) at the very least.
Maybe beast Draco is them testing the waters and they would implement such system with Camatoz, Goetia and U-Olga.🧐🧐
First Beast Definelity should've been Goetia. Fitting for the Beast I after all(or Camazotz i guess technically he is Beast I as well lol)
It may be too early to say for certain, but I would call her the BEST universal ST damage dealer in the game (assuming she's fighting a servant). A very large majority of enemies in the game are the base 7 classes that she's effective against, so the disadvantage to Extra Classes will rarely be an issue. Unlike Berserkers, Alter Egos, and Pretenders (who take 2x or neutral damage), she also has defensive class advantage against the majority of enemies. And, while the damage boost on her NP is for servants only, a majority of the hardest fights are against servants.
As an NA player, she has already become one of my most wanted servants to be coming out in the next 2 years - only beaten out by Koyanskaya and Oberon (because of the comps only they can enable). I'm even planning on cutting back my servant rolling plans for next year in case I need to reach pity for Draco.
The demerit on skill 2 seems way too harsh for what it does, not to mention skill seal sometimes is also a demerit. Her cooldowns are kinda long too, probably should have been 6/6/6.
She is still strong but mostly because of her class+np combo and high attack, we still have much more op dps then her. I won't be surprised if they buff her a year later.
skill 2 gives the grail status, this, on it's own, is the reason why it has a demerit ( my guess )
I'm worried about her damage. She seems to struggle to compete with the alternatives, and yet her kit is entirely selfish. That alone eliminates her from farming. Then when we get to bosses, multi-wave nodes feel pretty bad since you have to waste her S2 in order to get her S3's per-turn effects going; kinda ruins the potential Honey Lake synergy. She also relies on the boss being a servant for her NP's damage mod in order to keep up at all in damage with traditional counter-class alternatives, and realistically you'd only specifically want her against Dragon or Roman servants, otherwise there are far better options, so... she's very niche. Her triple Buster feels great with the event bonus, but as soon as that goes away, it'll be a bit painful, especially with the gutted NP Gain rate.
A 1k damage cut won't do much for survival against modern bosses, though it synergizes with Mash I suppose. Combined with her generalist class, that makes her great for new accounts looking to save as much SQ for supports as possible. Other than that, I don't get it. Even within her Dragon niche, she's still competing with Kriemhild, and outside of it Vlad awaits. Her Beast class seems incredibly powerful, but she herself doesn't seem great to me.

Enough for what? It depends on what you want them to do for you. Plus, nobody "needs" any servant per se. If your stock of SQ is that small, you should definitely try to preserve it as much as possible.

this video doesn't seem to address that nero draco FOLDS to extra classes like wet tissue paper in an ocean. She practically INSTA DIES to extra classes in a single hit, in which vets might already know new harder content are mostly extra class enemies so good luck doing ANYTHING with nero draco against ANY extra class.
