Wonderful video, hadn’t listened to Nic since loosing my wife 4 years ago, he was a particular favourite of us both. Had a visit today from my cousin who moved to Australia years ago, she had recently moved to Ballina which reminded me of Nic’s song Humpback Whale and she was surprised to learn that the town was once a whaling port. She’d a few tears listening to some of the songs but wonderful all the same
I am very proud to be one of few to help Nic's wife to get produce " In Search of Nic Jones " CD but all gratitude go to a long lost friend GianPaolo Nuti from Saronno that with his Folk Bulletin in early 80's organized gigs in Italy for Nic Jones before his car accident and that help me to know this Great artist. You guys are still in our hearts.
Stumbled across this legend and his son from an article about folk singers and was immediately hooked. Joe's an amazing guitarist and nic makes simple and soulful sounds when he sings.
I first saw Nic Jones play live in 1975. A great storyteller and the most engaging singer of the folk revival. This video with his son is painfully moving.
I love this,Nic still sounding true folky.Father and son having fun and obviously with true love for each other.Well done Joe,good to see Dad doing well.
how lovely to see Nic enjoying himself. I had the privilege of seeing Nic perform a number of times in the early 70's at "The Marlbrook folk club in Bromsgrove along with such classic names as Rosie Hardman Mike Harding Hamish Imlack The farriers Alan Jackson Cosmotheka Jasper Carrot. oh memories aplenty for a fading mind so keep the candle burning and who knows what we will find. Thank you so much for posting this.
Nic I agree w you about the words ... I always pick songs with good story or beautiful words ... your Annachie Gorden is a perfect example ... I sing it and move myslf to tears most times .. thank you for all your wonderful words songs and tunes through the years so great to see this ... my Son sings with me so I know how good that feels ... bless you both ..
Whenever my Australian daughter and I would come back to England for holidays, we'd play a compilation CD in the car which I'd put Humpback Whale on. Of course there's the relevance to my daughter as the song is set in Australia, but it's the words and melody that she loved as a very young child. She's all grown up now, but still loves singing it. Great to hear Nic sing it all these years later with his child. He is still in fine voice!
Love every minute of this. There's something about songs of going to sea and Nic Jones has some of the best. Son Joe has the guitar just perfect too. ❤️
Bravo por el viejo Nic!!! Nos regaló canciones que hoy son historia de la folk music. Adorable y lúcido, qué bueno verle disfrutando de las magníficas canciones que nos regaló. Pena de The Flandike Shore... Para el próximo concierto!! Saludos desde Bilbao!

Thanks for sharing - I don't normally have the patience to watch a whole gig on youtube but every second of this was spellbinding. I've loved Nic's music for a long time now but this gives a great sense of the man behind it, looks like he'd be great fun to go for a pint with - fantastic to see him back.
IAIN CHRISTIE Joe Jones is playing his father’s custom-made guitar. It was totally rebuilt after the crash, but while Nic’s voice is still amazing, his injuries mean he cannot play as well as he once did. Link below to the video ‘The Enigma Of Nic Jones’ - it has an interview with Nic’s guitar maker. It’s a wonderful account of Nic’s return to the stage. Joe is incredibly talented. ruclips.net/video/cu5Q_XFnknE/видео.html
i just found out about this guy, because of the sublime Randy Newman cover. absolutely mesmerized by the song "Now". Is that a new unreleased Nic song or something? Cant find anything about in when googeling.
What a joyfeeul thing to find here, bless you Nic and Joe.My wife and i were at one of their gig in Lewes. Pure magic.
Beautiful
It is incredibly sweet to see him finding a way to perform again, and for Joe to play in Nic's style.
Thank you Nick.. I still love your music and listen often.

Very moving and funny. Perfect harmony between father and son. Great singing and guitar playing. I love it.
Nic still has such a beautiful voice after all these years.

Wonderful to hear Nic performing again.
Not sure why I hadn't stumbled on this before, but it has been a joy to watch and sing along with.
Bought Nic's LP Ballads and Songs when I was visiting England in 1970, it has stood the test of time, as has he. Good to hear this.
One of the best voices in folk history, he's still got it here!
Love how everybody comes in on the chorus of "Farewell". This is how concert should be. Love to have been there.
What a great performance, very heartmoving.

Thank you. You give shape to the world.
Thanks so much for sharing this Murray.
Well done Nic,magical.
Sorry, Joe - I didn’t know you until this video, but will look out for more.
❤
Very nice singing and guitar accompaniment. Went so well together. Not to distract from the soulful playing, but what make of guitar, Nic ?

It's a Fylde
wonderful ✔️💕🐂💨
Wow

Uh. Is that Pete Coe who joined him there on the stage?
Would it be true to say he's got better as he's got older?
I hate the sound of the plugged in acoustic. It totally destroys the character of the guitar.Nic's pure acoustic sound used to be magic.
It's one of my pet hates too but to see Nic and his son together I'd let it go.
