    The best jazz pianist that I know in my live time , she was born to play and I'm sure she is still playing in the heavens , I was fortunate to travel to many of her concerts and had the pleasure of taking her out to a very elegant restaurant for dinner 22 years ago I had her visit my home in California and we both played together at the Baked Potato . I definitely do miss her as a dear friend . Fredrick Gendall

    So, so sad to hear of her passing. I discovered her music about 13 years ago, and it was such a joy! She's the closest pianist but I've ever heard to my late mother's style of playing. My mother never was able to read music. She did it all by ear. But she always had this beautiful little in her way of interpreting songs. Even the slower songs just seem to float beautifully in the air. And then, years after she had passed away, I discovered Beegie Adair. I would close my eyes and I be young again sitting in my living room listening to my mother play. I fell in love with her music, and arranged for her recordings to be played during the cocktail hour at my daughter's wedding. For me, it was as if my mother was there celebrating with us. I told my daughter during the pandemic that when this was over I want so much to go and see Beegee in concert. It didn't matter where she was going to be playing.
    So very sorry to hear her passing. Beegie... Thank you! Thank you for so many beautiful memories, and for leaving us with your music that will be the precious soundtrack of the rest of my life.

      What a beautiful message! Your mother was clearly very talented - how lovely! Beegie had such a light touch but a real presence. I was astonished I never heard of her til a year or so before she died. I put her up with the greats - Oscar Peterson, George Shearing, Erroll Garner, Michael Feinstein.

    It is such a pleasure to listen to Beege Adair. I have been digging her jazz for years now. She definitely is one of the best. She improvises so well on everything she does, but you can still find the melody of these great songs in her improvising. Her skill in changing keys is also really fine, and enhances the numbers. Great support as well by the bass and drums.

      +Julien Chaussade Real Jazz has a little touch of sadness or melancholy it is not Rock and Roll or Carnival Salsa. The players who do improvisation are the ones that smile all the time making my balls scrubb on the floor.

    • @konosxatz1
      @konosxatz1 7 лет назад +44

      if you want the piece as it is without the "boring improvisation" then just listen to ella fitzgerald and sarah vaughan.jazz after swing (bebop,hard-bop,staight ahead,fusion,avant guard,free etc.) is all about "long boring improvisation". Jazz is all about freedom of expression.It is a movement against the academia and stuborness of classical music.If it was not for the "boring improvisation" then jazz would just be classical music and it might as well be written note by note on paper.That's why people listen to jazz and jazz concerts are so much more exciting than any other genre:because everytime there is something different and every musician's "boring improvisation" has its own identity and style.Nowadays nobody becomes succesful in the jazz scene without "boring improvisation".

    Oh to be able to play the piano like this for just one single night, it would be enough for me. Sadly, I had plans to travel through Nashville and was going to see her perform but pandemic interrupted those plans, and then she left us so I won't get to see this master at work. Such effortless joy she created her and left for us all. RIP, Beegie.

    The great talent Beegie Adaire convinces with her charm - joy - enthusiasm! - Beegie feels good - refreshing, the good Lord always provides the right song and her outfit. - All people who would watch with heart and soul would be taught otherwise. - I'm enthusiastic and her Charismatic personality stuns me and encourages her to always new musical challenges. - Your art accompanies me now for all time to eternity Amen

    I always wonder what Beegie heard in her head? No sheet music...she had it all in her heart! She's the BEST!

    What's great about Beegie is she knows when to pull back and not over do the ad-lib. You can clearly make out the main melody through most of the song.
