I love your hoosier cabinet!!!! I have an active sourdough starter named Doughphelia and I make some awesome sourdough loaves and homemade cheezits with it! I also just started making my own dog treats and dog food. Now my pups won't eat anything else! Thanks for sharing your new kitchen with us, it looks amazing. So happy for you and your family and can't wait to see what you have in store for us in 2025!

    Beautiful cabnet!!!
What a find. It is so nice to have something old in a new space. It adds character and warmth. Nothing says home like the smell of fresh baked bread.
My hubby loves it with Butter and homemade jellies. It always takes him back to his childhood weekend mornings in grandmothers' dairy farm kitchen. I'm gonna need to follow your lead and make some bread for him this week.
Thank you for the peak inside your warm winter wonderland.

    You look amazing, Jennifer!
What a beautiful cabinet! I've been baking my own bread for awhile. Not only is it healthier and cheaper but the satisfaction I have making it is indescribable. My mom loved to bake. Since she died 1½ years ago, I feel a connection to her when I pull out one of her handwritten recipe cards and attempt to make it just like her. It never comes out quite the same. Something is usually missing; probably her presence with all that love mixed with patience is missing. I miss her so much but baking some of her favorite recipes keeps her close to me. Thank you for sharing this video. It certainly brought back fond memories of spending so many days in the kitchen cooking and baking with my beautiful mother. ❤🥖🍞

I’ve always loved the Hoosier. It was very popular to get these antiques in the 1980’s among my friends.
Unfortunately, I was a young mother at that time and we just couldn’t afford it.
Yours is gorgeous and I love how you are using it in your beautiful farm kitchen ❤

I love this! Crafting and baking are actually my hobbies. I am a nurse by trade. I started making sugar cookies before I began crafting and I loved it. But people actually wanted to purchase cookies from me and after a while it became more of a chore. I stopped baking sugar cookies for almost a year! That is when I began crafting. Now I bake sugar cookies again, but only for fun and for special occasions.

I have always crafted, making things for the home, scrapbooking, making cards, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint just to name a few. lol. I took up sewing when I retired from my job. Good for you for finding a new hobby. It's good to take time away from our work, no matter how great we are at it or how much we enjoy our work. I've turned to sewing and improv quilting recently. Your hoosier cabinet is wonderful! Maybe when it warms up, you will consider antiquing as a hobby to see if you can find other treasures for your new home.

Watching your house and property become a "home" has been quite enjoyable. Thanks for sharing this part of your life.
I always thought I would just read constantly after I retired so I bought tons of books to be ready. Well, yes, I do still read but I don't read much during the day because I want to keep my hands and mind busy. I still love to sew, which I've been doing since I was about 8 years old. A few years ago I began to embroider again. After watching your video last fall, I'm all set to begin embroidering napkins as a gift for next Christmas for my DIL. This past summer I made several pair of faux leather earrings for myself and gifts for others. I'm not very creative but I spend lots of time making scrapbooks for my two adult children so they will always have picture memories from when they were growing up. For that reason, I love my Cricut Explore! I truly enjoy the projects you teach us. Thank you

Miss Jennifer - I grew up in Central Ohio in a home my parents built. They kitchen design included a double-door cabinet in which my mother installed a flour sifter exactly like in your Hoosier cabinet except the lid came off and the bin pulled out to add flour. She always kept a large pie plate beneath to catch any extra flour. On the other side of the cabinet, was the same type bin minus shift for sugar! I kept both bins; however, never have had a cabinet in which to install them. One day. Watching your video brought back wonderful memories. Thanks.

Oh Jennifer I just loved your video. I've had many mishaps trying to make bread -- I'm going to try your recipe. But about hobbies -- before Christmas I thought I'd want to sell my beautiful things I'd made with Cricut. then I thought I didn't really want my creations to go off to places unknown. Id rather give them to friends and family. So I refocused. I decided I'd only make things that had a reason. While I watched your video I finished tieing bows on 50 valentine candy holders I'd made with Cricut. These are for my grandchildren's valentines day part at school. They are so excited to have something made by Grammy.
I found your video to be relaxing while I worked. So this IS my hobby and I love it. I'm retired and I don't need to sell so I can just enjoy creating and sharing. Thank you so much for allowing us a glimpse of your life and for teaching me so much. You are great!

My hobbies include genealogy, minis, & learning new crafts, very hooked on papercrafts right now- love working with my hands! No plans for a business related to any of these. I enjoy gifting what I make. I also enjoyed baking, but the clean-up makes it less desirable- hmmmm if I had someone to clean up the "mess", I'd be right there! I enjoy baking, writing poems, I recently started paper crafting, making my own body lotion and scrubs, but I would love to try making paint pour cutting boards, crocheting, felt needle crafting and wood burning as well. Like you as a kid, I used to be the primary cook and loved baking every weekend I would bake something for the family, mainly desserts. My hobbies are still baking, I just don't it as often as I once did. My other hobbies are cooking, canning, gardening, and the past 15 years quilting and machine embroidery. I look forward to watching you rejuvinate your kitchen hobbies. By the way, I am so in love with you new Home Studio it is amazing.

Ah that looks divine! I will try the recipe too 😊 thanks for sharing!
I read a lot, and crochet for fun too! Just finished Onyx Storm (3rd in the Forth Wing series, released on Tuesday 😂) and often craft for fun too 🥰

Let me know how you like the bread! I do craft for fun, too, but it's not enough -- and I often feel compelled to share, which as you know, means a different level of polish. But my favorite craft that is just for fun is decorating my dresses for special trips and events. I have a cruise coming up that is going to need some new dresses! I have some ideas already.
It's fun that you crochet. I want to, and my mom makes lovely things. It's on my list!

I love all your videos at the farm. Your kitchen is gorgeous, a true farmhouse kitchen! Love that hutch, it is a dream box for the kitchen! I work from home doing financial accounting and crafts is my hobby, but I never seem to have enough time to make everything I want to. I didn’t have a dedicated crafting space, all my supplies are in the spare bedroom and I have to bring my supplies to the kitchen table. We bought a shed, put up insulation, walls, electric, lights, ceiling fan, vinyl flooring, an infrared heater and a mobile AC unit, got some desks and put up shelves , we finally finished and I’ve been moving in my craft supplies in, I will finally have a dedicated craft space! I can actually sit down and start crafting without having to bring everything back and forth to the kitchen table! Yay!

I love your cabinet. It is so well designed, we have lost many of these skills to maximize space with a solid piece of furniture. Some of the features remind me of my grandmother's kitchen, with built in cutting boards built into the cabinets just below the counter. The kitchen was small by today's standards but she cooked for about 10 people each day in it. The kitchen is the heart of the kitchen, your kitchen is welcoming.

I love that you are going back to find that hobby you like. Mine is working with my Alpacas. Spinning on my spinning wheel spinning their fiber into yarn is my relax.
