This was absolutely beautiful Denise! I loved the opening line so much. Your technique going up the octaves is an example of grade A horn playing. So happy to share this!!
I've had the pleasure of accompanying some hornists who played this concerto, and it's quite a fine piece of music, and very difficult for the soloist. Ms. Tryon performed this brilliantly.
Absolutely masterful. In case anyone wondered how you got all those plum orchestra jobs... ;-) I like the piece too. I'm curious about the titles (piece, mvts.)...?

Very strong and solid sound, great double tonguing. I strive to play my instrument with this level of finesse (I'm an oboist)
Stunning, absolutely stunning work.Among the greatest of treasures in serious American music.
This is absolutely fantastic. I want to learn it.
I like this solo like I like my steaks, very well done.
Just amazing! A really good companion while reading the book :)
I'm sure that Herman Hesse would be very proud and happy with this
Just great!!!!
You are a beast Denise!!! ❤️❤️
Wonderful playing!
Thanks!

It's called Glass Bead Game and there are 3 movements but all played continuously.
@@DeniseTryon Right -- I meant I was curious about the meaning of the various titles. (Sorry for not being clearer.)
@@rloomis3 oh! It's based off the novel by Hermann Hesse called The Glass Bead Game. The titles of the movements refer to characters within the book.
@@DeniseTryon Ah! Thanks.
