What do you do when you take a vacation and do you give yourself days off every week? Do you still respond to customers when you’re on vacation or in your days off? I believe everybody deserves days off and shouldn’t be working 7 days a week but don’t know how this works in direct sales.

Hey Sandy! I do believe in healthy boundaries and that looks different for each person. The only way you can find your boundaries and what works for you is by trial and error. If someone messages you late at night or while you’re not in working hours, I believe that it’s ok to send them a response letting them know that you will help them as soon as I’m back in the office.
As far as me personally… If a customer calls me during a vacation, at 9pm, or when I’m at my kids event I am so thankful. That person trust me, wants to do business with me, and appreciates the products and services that I offer. Each phone call is an opportunity for my family to have a better life. That energy, over time, has trained my mind to love hearing that ring!!!
If anyone wants to do direct sales like Scentsy, it can be challenging when people approach their business like they are being managed my a manager and HAVE to pick up the phone or be reprimanded. At the end of the day I am my own boss - no one is making me take or return that call. However, I realize that the phone ringing is my return on investment.
