Just started my first Structural Engineering job a month ago and it’s crazy how much I’ve learned and how different things are in the world vs. school. I’m thankful that I’m working in a small company that works on all types of projects so I can be exposed to a lot. Good luck to everyone else just starting their careers!
Thank you so much both of you are my inspiration. I have followed you two on RUclips for a couple of years. I love the job that I am doing now and I learn a lot from you two. I am from East Timor and looking forward to have my masters in Structural Engineering in Australia or USA in four to five years. Right now I am working as a civil engineer in small company in my country.
It's great to see professionals connecting and teaching one another things that the other may not have known. Thanks for sharing and hope to see more collaborations from both of you! @Brendan Hasty
Hi Matt, I would like to add some advice for engineering career as international students. To be honest in US I feel the first thing is to find an employer that sponsors work visa so at least you can think about the future career in this country. I agree with all those communication skills balabala are important but first things first.
I am subscribed to you both, but I usually see you separately!!! Lol. So when I saw you guys together in the thumbnail, my brain got confused😅but then I got excited and was no, “No way, they collaborated!”
I have graduated last year and joined a company that deals with feasibility and marine construction. I have got one year experience and have done two structural building design (G+4, G+2 bunglow) worked with architect to design it better. Also analysed steel truss for backyard facilities of ports. I also have experience with project management, doing all's finances with my own project of g+4 and have block estimated project for a feasibility and also for all of my design. I need good mentor like you to gain more experience. I want to join you.
Brooo what a fucking glitch haha. When you started your channel Mat, I loved it but always thought there should’ve been an Australian channel. And while Brendan also began his channel I had come across his channel during the early days too… and here y’all are collabing. Wow. Just wow.
Good to see you both in the same frame . I have questions for Brendan hasty . What is your take on Ashraf Habibullah speech which was posted on linkdin . "Structural engineering is indispensable to humanity . So, why we do not make more money? "
@@tlhalefangchelechele6303 you enjoying it? My final year is me deciding if I want to go into structures and help with bridges and all that. How are things on your end?
I just quite my job and have started my master's in structural engineering but I'm still skeptical if this is a good career path In terms of the pay scale. Can you guide me
