This is in my Top 10 albums of all time. Just crazy that it's almost completely forgotten. Great songs. Superb production. And the only female voice in rock to rival Ann Wilson.
30 years ago and this band's music is so fucking good, it defies description. And goddamn, what can you say about Sandi? Stunningly beautiful (even today). "You can try to forget my love. You can try to forget my name. But remember to listen to your heart when you see me again." I'll never forget you, baby.
Right now, When the Blackbird Sings is my workout album. As much as I loved their eponymous debut, 'Blackbird' is really where Saraya got to flaunt their hard rock roots. It's so so good, and it's a damned shame there was never a third album. Queen of Sheba, Bring Back the Light, this song, Tear Down the Walls, Seducer and In The Shade of the Sun, especially, are phenomenal. There are two female rock vocalists I absolutely could not live without-Ann Wilson and Sandi. I would pay anything to see the surviving members reunite for a show. Anything.
I personally think the first album was so much better than the second, as the songs were much stronger, and it still rocked. They shouldn't have "shoved aside" the late, great Gregg Munier. Anyway, whichever one works for you! At least you like them and good rock!
She has one of the best female vocals...... Saraya was underrated and overlooked
A band that never got its due... except from us. :)

The opening riff kills it...and it owes a tip of the hat to Warren DeMartini for sure...heavily influenced by Ratt sound at the time
