- Regular viewers of the channel will know that I really hate eating mushrooms.
What better place to send me for breakfast then than a mushroom farm!
I'm at Forest Fungi in Dawlish, South Devon to see if I can overcome this dread of the mushroom. You'll even see me actually eat some. At least I tried... it's mushroom mayhem!

Fried up with lashings of butter on thick bread is how I think most mushroom lovers would have it but not me, it's the texture that makes me adverse
Yeah, I hate the texture. Mushroom flavour is fine, we often make mushroom soup at home. Those mushrooms fried in breadcrumbs are the worst, disguising themselves as scampi. Sneaky...

And it’s nice to sit outside in December, been having some almost spring like days lately.
Absolutely. I’m glad the weather was clement enough for me to sit outside (cos the inside was full!) There were 3 other tables occupied outside too, on a Wednesday in December, that place is popular!

I like the crazy golf in Dawlish, right in the middle of a roundabout basically! This mushroom place is 💯 worth checking out if you are in that part of the world Smithy, especially if you are fond of the fungi, lots of great options. The fry up was great.

Aww, that Café really looks nice and cozy ❤❤ Breakfast looks yummie, I like some mushrooms, but I understand someone didnt like, ist all about the texture, thats why I dont like shrimps.
Yeah it's all about the texture for me. Mrs Greeno Eats shrimp but not the big king prawns for the same reason. This means she doesn't like lobster either. Which is good news for my wallet ha ha! The cafe and breakfast was soooo good. And a very reasonable price too. I wish I lived closer!!

It’s strange the way the brain works sometimes isn’t it. Things tasting very similar and we like or dislike them. Still feeling pretty grotty, but I will live 😀
It looked OK, I think either an extra sausage /slice of bacon or an egg wouldn't have gone amiss but I guess cost of living etc makes it hard for these small cafes. I don't like the taste of mushrooms and I don't eat black pudding either so that breakfast would not be for me unless you could swap things. I agree the sausage could have done with a bit more cooking. I don't mind fat on bacon, think it helps with flavour and keeping it from being too dry. So sad to say I wont be putting it on my places to visit!
It was definitely possible to swap things out, and they had the option to add items too (bacon, sausage £1.00 - tomato, egg, toast, beans etc 60p). Thought those prices for additional items were fair. Sausage did need a minute or two more didn’t it. I only really like the bacon fat if it is crisped up a bit more, that’s when you get the really good flavour 😀 The fried slice was a nice touch, don’t get that too often these days (for health reasons I guess!
think you should talk to Gary since he does not like Mushrooms either.

some how I just got this video given to me by YT. it only took them it seems 3 Mths to do it.
Only 1 sausage, and the egg looks like it lost a bit of it. maybe you should eat 1 mushroom a day until you like them heheheh.
RUclips is a strange place, it does seem to hide some videos sometimes. It’s a textural thing with mushrooms for me, I like mushroom soup. Myself and Gary have indeed spoken about the mushroom issue 🤣
The FEB looked really good to be fair, but I'd be giving the shrooms a hard pass.
It was belting. And I had to give the mushrooms a go… results were as expected! Not in a hurry to have them again 😂
I have the same problem with mushrooms as you. I hate the texture of them 🙈
But other than that this looked to be a really tasty breakfast!

Not for me mate. Mushrooms are the work of the devil. I'd probably go for the Full Stack of pancakes.
I don’t think I have ever gone into a breakfast place and had pancakes. Just seems like a wasted opportunity to have a full english!
Why didn’t you try the duck egg?
I wasn't offered the option when ordering, but I do prefer a chicken egg. Duck egg is nice but a little too rich for an English breakfast for me. Thanks for watching 🙂

It was a fab place. The staff were all very friendly, the farm shop had nice produce and the breakfast was great value. Even from a fungiphobe 😂
