I've watched several diy lantern videos and so far this one looks like the most durable/easiest to last. It will make a great gift to my 80 yr. old mother. Ty for sharing with us. New sub here and belled! :)
Thank you! I just butchered a lantern doing it as wrong as I possibly could, so I came to RUclips hoping to find a better way. This is a great technique and just what I needed, and it's genius to make it so it can be stored flat.
Glad you added the lantern. It just made your table scape. It is beautiful and lavish. I wouldn't ever want to use it, or move it from table. Too beautiful to touch.
I love all your videos, you are so talented. I also love that these collapse down for easy storage. Everything on your table is beautiful. I enjoy watching and getting ideas from your videos. Thanks. Diane
This is one of the most elegant, classy DIY projects I have ever seen. It doesn't look like a diy and thats what i love about it. Very creative! Great Job!!
LOVE, LOVE this lantern idea! My daughters Wedding is coming up and she wants lanterns, but we're on a strict budget so I'm making them and I just love your tutorial. You get right to business, and for this old lady here, you explain everything just perfectly. Thank You!
That's awesome. Congratulation to your daughter! I am so glad you found the tutorial useful. Let me know when you've completed them I would love to see the result! Thank you for watching and your kind words!
I HAD to come back to your video and let you know how much your tutorial helped me. The other tutorials I have seen have been ok but NOT as functional as yours! I can collapse them down!! Thank you soooooooo much for sharing this!
Wow very pretty! I love that you can fold it up and put it away until you need it, all the others I have seen don't do that, I will have to try it that way. Thank you for sharing!
Your table is gorgeous and I like the way you did your lantern it's much better may just last longer. Other lanterns use a little line of hot glue now with staples and clothe gives a better hold. Thank you for sharing
planning my own wedding...love this idea, will probably spray the frames with chalky paint to match my theme, you rock, this save me from buying lanternd at $30 a piece!!
That is so AWESOME! I am so glad to hear that. If you are on IG or Facebook I would love for you to contact me for tips and tag me in pics so I can see how it turns out! IG: simplylavishlife and/or Facebook Simply Lavish Chicago.
Wonderful idea! Love it! You took it to another level by making it when we don't need to use it, it can be put away. Thank you a million. Sending you much blessings and love. Keep up the great job 🙏💜🙏
I wasn't sure where you were going with the panels that attached the frames together but I just love how it folds and collapsed flat for storing. Marvelous idea!!!!
This was such a creative idea and one I am going to use. Thanks so much for these. i love candles and this is beautiful. Thanks again and continued success
+Simply Lavish It's always a pleasure to come across talented people like yourself. Keep up the great work and keep the great videos coming. Best wishes!
This by far one of the best DIY's I've seen! I really love what you did with those picture frames I would have never though to do that. Great job! Tfs.
Love this idea... Very affordable! I will definitely share your channel. My friend is having an outdoor fall BBQ (under a tent) and this would be perfect! I have watched all of your videos. TFS. Keep them coming!
Oh my goodness. The glass in my frames always rattles around and it's annoying. I never thought of hot gluing them. Great idea. Thanks for posting your project.
I PROMISE I WILL SEND A PHOTO WHEN I DO TRY IT OUT, YOU HAVE AMAZING IDEAS AND GREAT TASTE. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND BIG HUG FROM ME TO YOU.💖😘
love this. i wish i had remembered this technique of using strips to connect it. i had done that on a project over a year ago so i could fold it for storage and when i started seeing these new lantern diys i spaced it out. i had used ribbon on mine, not strips of fabric or paper though. the lantern i just got finished making i glued the sides together. i may get out my blow dryer and heat it up to remove the glue and re-do it but not sure yet. if i can make a suggestion, after gluing the glass panes in, use some pliers to remove the little tabs that hold everything in. on DT frames they come out pretty easy. i actually added a strip of hot glue on top of the edge of glass after it was glued in to make sure there was a barrier holding them in. TFS. your display is lovely.
Love how you can fold this down to put it away and the way you put it together with the fabric, guess you could sort of match up color of the frame with the fabric. Maybe you could staple the other direction to connect the sides and then put the fabric on to cover the staples. I may try that way Thanks for the tutorial !! Very nice...
IKR...that's the best part. I would definitely recommend matching...I thought it would be easier to see with the high contrast. You can definitely do that. I can't wait to hear how it turns out.
I have been wanting to buy a a lantern for my holiday decor but I always think they cost too much ( I'm kinda cheap lol) but this here is a gorgeous ingenious idea! I love it! Looks beautiful too. Thanks for sharing :)
This is beautiful, very unique Have you thought of having a mirror cut for the bottom ? It could also be removable and would add some more sparkle. Thanks for posting i may try this.
Good catch! I actually made some and they give a beautiful effect, because you can by those inexpensive mirrors at Dollar Tree. But for the sake of keeping it relatively easy and safe I demonstrated with cardboard. I thought some people might be intimidated by the idea of cutting mirror. Thank you for watching! I'm glad you like it.
+Peggy Mohr I am so glad to hear that. Share the results with me when you do! It's such a coincidence that you commented on this video...the one I am uploading now features this project again. Check it out.
