Thank you for this video! I was convinced I was going to have to discharge the AC and remove the dryer... when you stated you'd done several of these without needing to do anything else it gave me the confidence to try. You're right, just tie wires/hoses to the side and one has just enough access to get a wrench in, then use fingers to remove/install bolts.
I spoke too soon. I could remove the PSP this way, but I struggled for hours to reinstall it. There wasn't enough room to get my fingers in there to find the holes and thread in the bolts. I finally evacuated the AC and removed the receiver/dryer entirely, then it was much easier. I wish I would have done that in the first place!
Just another hint, the job is so much easier if you remove the windshield wiper assembly (the entire thing), you will then have easy access to the pump from the top. Change the spark plugs too while you are at it.
@@bluntforcetrauma2141 I'm definitely late to the party. I'm currently replacing my timing cover on my 06 T&C. I ended up breaking off the plastic cowl cover. I'm just going to get a used one at pull a part for $35 once I'm done. I tried forever!! It was showing no signs of coming off. I was pissed 😆 I took the loppers, and went to town.
Yea I feel sorry for everyone who didn't remove the windshield wiper assembly, if I did not I wouldn't even bother doing this job. With it off and popping the drain off the sidewall you can reach around back with your hand to feel the bolts holding the pump in and you can actually see two of them from the top. Its so much easier to get at it this way. I wouldn't recommend doing it without removing the wiper assembly. Be very careful screwing the high pressure line back into the new pump so you do not cross thread the bolt into the new pump. Make sure unscrew the two bolts holding the high pressure line to the frame before screwing it back in so its not so ridged and can pull it up some and screw it into the new pump and then put pump on and tighten the line in a little more.
Thanks for the video I'm having a bad steering wheel pump and I'm going to change my mi self because it's changing me too much money and for me it's the easy way to learn I love mechanics so I try to do the best to keep learning Thanks for you and everyone else who post video like this.
I am i the process of changing the power steering pump, water pump, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gasket on a customer's 2006. What a pain in the ass the power steering pump is. My hand looks like I used a grinder on it!
When the reservoir got fluid in it when the engine shuts off that fluid should be between the lines on the reservoir when you start it should that fluid rise to the top of the reservoir or should it stay in between them lines

Awsome good to know, thanks for the info, if i get to do one again i will try post a vid on it, and thanks for watching!
I'm sure that i'll be done with the pump about 4 months before i get an answer, but i cant get the wipers arms off. I cant even tear them off

@@orochish532 there ya go. I did a timing chain on a 2000 saturn ls and surprised to not see an extra bolt or have one missing.

Good info. Simple and two the point. Thanks
Thank you for this video! It really is very useful!
Thanks for the video ...other guys make it seem very complicated...i feel like i can do it now 👍💯😁
Awsome, Thanks for watching!

Just learned lotsa new swear words!! Lol.
I think it would be better if it had an electric power steering pump. I've never even heard of such a beast. But it could be stuck in any open corner.
Take the wipers and shroud off to open up the back of the motor
Way easier than all the compressor stuff and all that
Awesome, good to know, thanks!

Awsome, thanks for the info, ya i wasted fluid doing this, thats good to know. And thanks for watching!
Just take the manifold off and the throttle body and boom you got plenty of room
Relatively same for a 94 caravan with 3.3 motor??
Maybe but not positive, might a bit different?
I have a 2006 I think the range runs from 2001 to 2007
It should be similar probably not the same
5 min in the beginning on nothing
ya sorry, i felt i had to show the steps i took to take the pump out, thanks for watching!
A lot of stuff you got to the off
It's not too bad of a job
Ya it takes a few hours, depends on what he charges an hour, my hourly rate is low but I think I charged a couple hundred for the job, hope this helps
@@THEMOOSESWRENCH yes it does 😊 thanks.
