you do know the $500 model links to the media server software too. Just because this is $2400 doesn't mean it's a "server". It connects through wifi to your own computer running askell software. So to reiterate no it's definitely not worth that money because it isn't a server. If you look at their home audio products they charge $2000 extra for 2TB extra harddrive...that harddrive is like $100. So they charge $2000 for a $100 harddrive? Sounds like they do their pricing like apple!
A music server.... I have a £10 Raspberry pi that can functionally do everything your magical $2400 'music server' can do or even any scrap PC on Ebay being given away for free. Money would be better spent on a £2000 set of speakers and some acoustic foam.
It's a hi-res/hi-def DAP. Calling it MP3 player is the 8th sin.

I have the Kann. I can say AK builds tge nicest hardware. Plus the sound is AMAZING!
Why are there 2 (uneven) empty frames mounted on the wall behind you? Sony NW-WM1A is $1,200.00 less. Queststyle QP-2 is $1,000.00 less.
They aren't empty (look closely) although they are crooked. I'm crap at picture mounting, sue me. ;-)
"they pulled out all the stops, Android, wifi, bluetooth, headphone jack..." like any $20 phone or tablet :|
android takes more than it gives too
have you heard the sp1000 yet?
