There's two things you need to do: 1. build muscle aka the metabolism boosting - calorie burning body tissue. 2. learn how to track macros and eat at calorie deficit - the three building blocks of calories. Try 30% of total calories fats, .8-1g of protein per body weight, and the rest carbs. If this is confusing, start learning it now.
Surprisingly you can eat better and more than you think, if home cooked. Also, mostly every item he listed here you can eat, and are eaten by those people who successfully lose weight. Make sure you get into the habbit of buying groceries every week, cooking your meals every day - this active activity will help you be hand on regarding tracking. Eat for fuel for physical and or cognitive endeavors and post recovery only, no boredom eating nor eating for fun (yet - only when youve earned it by building enough calorie burning muscles).

I shop the perimeter, with quick trips into the aisles for olive oil, vinegar, spices, lentils, beans, tomato sauce, canned diced tomatoes, rye bread, and keto tortillas with olive oil and flaxseed. That’s it.

I was urinating almost non-stop. I developed an insatiable thirst. I was to the point that I started checking my blood glucose levels thinking I was a diabetic. Then it hit me that I was not hyperglycemic, but I was “hyper-Sucralosemic”! All symptoms resolved when I stopped consuming Sucralose. It behaved like an osmotic diuretic in my body. Exactly, I lived in the UK for 15 years and their diet has took a toll on me, I have developed serious IBS symptoms, so I was forced to change my diet, since I did it I feel a lot better. I’ve started to basically eat only foods that have retained their natural appearance, i do not eat processed foods a part from rice. I do indeed spend a bit more but I have to admit I feel a lot better and I will save up in future medical bills. I buy fresh free range eggs from a farmer near my house, I only buy Swiss free range organic beef or chicken from the butcher once a month ( I live in Switzerland) I buy fresh fruits and vegetables that are seasonal and locally grown from a cheap farmers market near me, they deliver a full box for $10 every week, I try to eat raw vegetables as much as I can (carrots, peppers, tomatoes and spinach’s) I only drink tap water and I filter it with my Brita caraffe, I stay away from breads, butter, cheeses, the only thing I still eat that is made with dairy is natural yogurt. I also eat a lot of fish, I avoid Nordic wild or raised fish since the Nordic sea is the most polluted. I mean it is hard work but processed foods are overfilled with all these weird ingredients that I have to avoid completely.

MSG's impact on health has been researched quite thouroughly and nothing points to it actually being harmful, acting like it is a neurotoxin is criminal.
What is so bad about starch? Are all carbohydrates bad somehow?
Phosphate seems to be connected to renal diseases but only if it is added artificially, it is usually entirely fine.
The seriousness with which this absolute horseshit is presented makes the blood of someone who actually studied these foods boil.
If someone is just spouting stuff like this without any explanation or proof listening to them is entirely irrational.

@@Свободадляроссии enriched means depleted for the simple fact that one does not need to enrich a food which originally contained all its nutrients. Enriched does NOT mean that it is "richer in nutrients than the original", but that it has likely been DEPRIVED of its original nutrients (the latter being employed elsewhere) and filled back with (lower quality, cheaper) ingredients/nutrients. A typical example? Cocoa butter is used in cosmetics, but also to make high-quality chocolate. But it is LEGAL to make (low-quality) chocolate with other fats too (i.e. soy lecithin). So why not make a higher margin by both selling cocoa butter to the cosmetic industry and "enriching" chocolate with lecithin instead?
The word "enriched" is purposely misleading, and you don't seem to get it...
Wheat is not unhealthy "per se", and the same goes for starch and carbs. Isn't this obvious? But everybody as much obviously knows that carbs are THE problem in diabetical western societies' nutrition criteria. The point he is trying to make is that carbs are "hidden" by manipulating consumers' perceptions and purposely displaying misleading information.
How many people do think that wheat is waaaaaay healthier than white? Obviously this is FALSE... The introduced "wheat diversification" was instrumental to marketing, and NOT in the consumer's interest. Imho these videos are eye-opening!

@@francescocandian2708 Because you're purposely twisting the meaning of the word to fit an agenda. You can enrich a food without depleting it, of course you can both add nutrients and take some away but usually that is not the case. How would you for example remove minerals or vitamins from an ingredient? That simply isn't done, far too complicated to be of any use.
Other fats being used in place of cocoa butter is not depleting or enriching, that's just using a different ingredient and is clearly listed on the packaging.
On the other hand plenty of foods are legitimately enriched. Plenty of breakfast cereals for example have added folate or vitamin C and D. Some even have all vitamins. There is nothing wrong with these foods, they are just outright better than if they weren't enriched. Oh and folate enrichment is very useful since getting sufficient amounts naturally is extremely difficult.

Before you take this information as actionable for yourself, do some research to confirm. Like anything, any of these items on this list "Top 10" list will cause harm if overdone. Too bad sucralose was never intended to be a pesticide. That was debunked long ago yet people still say that lie. About as true as GMO's being created by sticking a syringe in an apple. Do you really think the scientist who discovered it would have tasted it if he was using it in any way to make a pesticide?

    • @cathygrandstaff1957
      @cathygrandstaff1957 3 года назад +11

      From Wikipedia:
“Sucralose was discovered in 1976 by scientists from Tate & Lyle, working with researchers Leslie Hough and Shashikant Phadnis at Queen Elizabeth College (now part of King's College London).[30] While researching novel uses of sucrose and its synthetic derivatives, Phadnis was told to "test" a chlorinated sugar compound. Phadnis thought Hough asked him to "taste" it, so he did.[31] He found the compound to be exceptionally sweet.”
So it wasn’t being developed as a pesticide per say, the company that discovered it was just trying to make novel compounds of sucrose to see what they do and one of the scientists thought his partner asked him to taste a newly synthesized compound with unknown properties. Still very dumb, but it’s not like he thought he was tasting poison.

he was /still is the person who prepared it - synthesis experts usually ingest their own products for sensoric testing (small amounts so they dont instanly die, of course). My prof at the uni (synthesis/organic chemist) had ingested methanol (the alcohol that makes you go blind) in small amount (concentration was about 1 mg/l which is 0,1% , the blindness occurs if you get 20-30 ml of 40% methanol) to determine the sensoric reaction and well, the shot was bad but alcohol taste was confirmed XD. Also, I have been asked if I can do sensoric testing of pharmaceutical carbon, but theres no way I would dare to do it.

If aspartame delivers methanol to your bloodstream, it would seem like a no-brainer to avoid the sweetener at all costs, but there's a confounding factor: methanol is also found in all sorts of harmless foods, especially fruits and vegetables, in quantities comparable to foods that contain aspartame. In fact, aspartame-flavored soda contains less than half the methanol found in the same volume of many fruit juices.

No, 100 years ago people their life expectancy was pretty good. Also, when life expectancy was lower, you have to look at the reasons they died early. What do you think that happened when you had an infection pre antibiotics time perk? Dangerous jobs, wars and famine.
People didn't die of heart attacks so often 100 years ago. My ancestors lived on pork and potato (painting the potato eaters) and were slim. In the Netherlands even post WO2 people were slim in the 1960's.
The reason for this obesity epidemic is multifactorial. Do you know that people eat a lot more than 50 years ago? Spoons and plates became bigger. My grandparents were a lot more modest. I used to get one small bowl of chips and ONE GLASS of cola on Friday night. Eating whole bags of chips, cookies or sweets was unheared of in the Netherlands.
Lack of physical work contributed. Eating a lot of processed foods with lots of additives. My grandparents ate WHOLE foods. Think also about pollution, the use of plastics and chemical cleaning supplies.
Other than that I wish you a wonderful new year and wishing you health, wealth and love.
