Looks like a useful device. I like the split between main unit and display which can be remotely installed. Probably more accurate than the hall effect meters.
I have one of these, I thought the same about the shunt bolts. However, I drilled and tapped the center of the 10mm bolts, inserted 5mm brass screws reducing the terminals down to 5mm, ample size for my requirements,
I've got one of the older ones, a vat1300 I think. Nice piece of kit for the price. That one seems to be a bit of an upgrade. The display on mine is wireless from the shunt, so you can move it around and plug it in with USB and it'll read the shunt. But Bluetooth would be nice too. It's is not very accurate under 1 amp. I know it has slight current draws on it but it doesn't register until it hits an amp. And the current calibration isn't as easy as that one to set to zero. Got to go into the hidden settings on mine.
Hello, my friend, the KG-F coulomb counter uses a pure copper shunt, the measurement is more accurate, the Bluetooth can be read wirelessly, and it has the function of downloading historical data.
I have installed several of these but today I needed put the battery further from the display. It works with the supplied data cable but when I used a locally purchased 5 meter RJ11 cable the display does not work. Has anyone successfully used a longer cable and can you advise?
Julian, I have the KG-F Series Coulometer paired with a 100AH LIFePO battery. I cannot get the Battery Remaining Capacity (Battery remaining % image on the Display) to report Percent Capacity based on the remining voltage of the battery. I’ve tried fully charging the battery, then setting the Coulometer AH Rmn to the value on the display (Vs. setting the AH to the default 100AH value on the front of the battery), but the Coulometer Percent Capacity image doesn’t move or is incorrect based on the current Volage reading on the Coulometer Display. Any idea what I am doing wrong or how to fix this? Doug F.

In 14:09 I notice you connected the ground to the -ve terminal of the unit. In diagrams in other website, the -ve terminal is unconnected. Any difference?
super nice...👍 with all the functions, can it report on dirty power? inverter equipment, solar and wind, can produce harmonics that could destroy electrical devices. 🤔thanks.
I have one on order to fit into that situation, and EV with a 360A PWM shunt motor running around 10kHz.. Hopefully it samples at a reasonably well filtered DC signal from the shunt op amp, if not it may need modification. I'll update this reply once it arrives.
Hi, I need a monitoring device for an 24s7p 28Ah li ion pack for an electric paramotor. The engine will pull max 23kw at 70-100v and max 260A. Do you think this device is appropiate? I saw others entering sleep mode 0-60sec do do you think I can dissable that if it has? The shunt Gets pretty hot, unless I'l be using the 400A one..maybe, and because I don.t want another consumer besides wires, battery heat, motor losses, etc shall I use a hall sensor device instead of the shunt ones? Did you find out if it keeps the settings if it is unplugged for days? Thank you!
now it doest. however any device that have uart/rs485 can be converted to wireless. just connect rs485 to wifi and that's it. do some google and using modbus from wifi take out the data you need.
A few questions. I have 3X 105 AH AGM in Parallel (315 AH). Can I hook up on ANY batteries in the bank or does it need to be on a specific battery? What type of battery should i set the monitor for for AGM? Also, with AGM half the AH are useable...so for the monitor do I set it to 315 or half that? How should I read remaining? Would 0% left be 0% or would it be roughly 157.5AH remaining?
It looks like the wiring is incorrect on this video, I just installed a Koolertron 400A version it works very well along with it's bluetooth app. You need to connect the battery negative to the shunt and a load to the other side of the shunt in order to get a current flow through the shunt. The manual diagram is correct, just need to follow it :)😜
Great presentation! I just purchased that same "meter" November 2022. I did NOT get the cute wrench, copper ring terminals, or red wire with my kit! Hmm. I am not a fan of China, but they seem to be one of the few countries making all the cool "techie" gadgets we hobbyists eat up. I guess countries like the US won't touch anything unless there is huge profit margin in it. I imagine if this fancy monitor meter was made in the states, I bet it would go for like $350.00USD or more due to people's wages of like $20.00/hr instead of Chinese kids who get like $1.50/day over there! I do find Chinglish instructions frustrating though.
Why do chinese manufacturers not get an english speaker to check their name.... and while they're at it, instructions... the name will put people off on its own, and as you've found, that would be a shame, good kit really
This device app on android requires gps and file permissions. I knew this when I bought it but since I run the app on a docked Samsung s10 as a dashboard for my security cameras and tasmota devices on a non internet enabled INTERNAL network, displayed on a huge tv. I figured “what the hell”. To my surprise and disappointment whenever I dock my phone I loose the Bluetooth connection. Just to the meter not any other Bluetooth device. Ridiculous ! I don’t know if this is a software or a “dock” issue but either way it’s just another example of poor engineering with respect to the environment and a clear statement that the United States consumer protection agency ( the one that lets 9000 mah 18650 batteries in from the CCP ) doesn’t exist anymore !
Junk Tech, priceless.

Yes, the shunt measures the current more accurately than the hall sensor.
Was this eventually put to some good use? How is it holding up?
Someone needs to explain to the manufacturer what their name means in English
My view is that the British will enjoy the irony and purchase anyway.
So presumably, i could use the relay control to switch a relay when the voltage goes above a certain voltage? If im understanding correctly?
I wish the videos of longer reason why I like them to the best videos to watch actually
Me too ;)

Hooked mine up the same way as tou but I am not reading any volts and the screen is showing no battery in the upper right hand corner.
Any ideas?

Where can I purchase? I cannot locate a distributor.

Thanks for this nice review mate
Its stamped on the shunt as 75mV @ 500A ;-)
You're right - I didn't see that - thanks :)
@@JulianIlett Still patiently waiting for the diesel heater tear down to find out what went wrong with it you know ;-)
Yes. The shunt of KG140F adopts the shunt specification of 500A, and the actual measurement range is the current range of 0-400A
In 14:09 I notice you connected the ground to the -ve terminal of the unit. In diagrams in other website, the -ve terminal is unconnected. Any difference?
It is no problem to connect -ve when wiring first and then power on. If the wiring is live, it is recommended to not connect -ve to be safer.
My JUNTEK VAT1300 100V 300A has massive shunt too.

What's the operating temperature range?
Are you going to heat your shed 24/7 to prevent temps to go bellow freezing?
I may need to add a temperature controller to the system in winter.
is youtube removing the description as this is the second RUclips video without a listed item discription?? or link

Junctek was previously known as Ming He. They also have corrected the name to Juntek.
in your previous video how much was the box of LIPO4 batteries????
£120 and £100
Nice review. Can the RS-485 Link port be used for data logging?
Yes, it can be used to communicate with computers. The mobile APP has the function of data recording and can read historical data.

what is the type and spec of the relay you will use with the meter?
Relay video coming soon :)
Almost bought this. Etching away the ability to identify replacement parts for it is a deal breaker. Say NO to e-waste!

you didn't test the bluetooth app. the PCB has the 2.4 gig antenna..
