Always love when Genesis finishes up the album. Such a beautiful track. Love that Spanish guitar at the end.
My favorite part of your review was when you said "It's about the coming of the Antichrist" and the cat yowls right on cue... It's a very "Young Frankenstein" moment.

I love how y'all listened to 1 Ghost song, and then you're like we have to listen to every single one now. I was fortunate tosee them open for my favorite band , Iron Maiden 5 years ago, and that's how I got into them. But I remember the day after the concert I bought all of their albums on Amazon. So welcome to the congregation.

I can relate and enjoy watching you try to figure out Ghost. After 4 years in the congregation, I've learned Tobias does nothing by accident. While we listen, he's 2, 3, 5 years in planning ahead all aspects of the band's evolution. IMHO, with Opus themed "the coming of the Anti-C"...Genesis being the last song portends the A-C's arrival as a new beginning. This dovetails right into the next albums theme.

The really cool part is that this is what played when Papa I passed on the Mitre to Papa II, and for Papa II to Papa III. You can find recordings of the ceremonies from the live concerts they happened in.
I definitely love thought provoking music. Almost everything I listen to is an interesting conversation starter. Always appreciate your talks at the end. Some reactors just listen and then they're out.
I really enjoy seeing you guys discuss what these songs could be about. Also I'm really happy you guys got to Genesis, it's my favorite of their instrumental tracks.

This is such a concept album, especially these last three songs, from the very beginning with intro that imitates all sorts of church bells. A lot of early Ghost is pretty Lovecraftian, and this song in particular reminds me a lot of Nyarlathotep, a deity very similar to the devil, but with elements of Set, Osiris and Saturn as well. One way to summon him is through a ritual which ends up with a woman being impregnated with his offspring, this is what made me think of the nun bearing the Antichrist from this album
When I said three I think I meant Here Comes the Sun too, though that's not part of the album it's the direct "sequel" to Genesis in my head
@@Lazarus_Cardinalis I have the Deluxe CD that ends with HCTS and to me it's a critical track to come after Genesis. Especially for the concept of the Antichrist birth preparation of this album. It makes me picture both a sunrise and a birth taking place...something is coming...

Ayo I think y’all should definitely do some reacting to the lore videos from ghost, there is a playlist of all the videos in order by “a sad zoomer” Genesis plays a pretty big role in the lore.

This song specifically kind of describes the feelings and thoughts of the mother of the antichrist, this chorus has always been one of my favorite simply because of how dark and seemingly gruesome it is: "Prime Mover, maternal slave, with child of her grave". Then the part with "Mother, filth in her womb" is also just really dark i love it so much. There's a lot of grotesque-ness in it and im all for it. Genesis symbolises the literal birth of the antichrist.
Genesis really has some Jean-Michel Jarre - Equinox vibes in the melody
