- This is a leaf mandala drawing created on a piece of painted paper with black oil based sharpie paint pen, a white gel pen and acrylic paint. The painted paper was made by watering down some acrylic paint to create a wash and applying it to a regular piece of white printer paper.

what did you use to make the dots?
It is an embossing stylus (Martha Stewart's Brand) You can also use an end of a pencil or a paintbrush to get perfect little dots. Thanks for watching!
I'm always drawn to the color of this piece. Just beautiful! Do you get a strong smell from the oil based paint pen? Does the smell last long? deb

Thanks! The oil-base paint pens (Sharpie brand) do not smell at all. They dry quickly (the paint is a little tacky for about a minute). Sharpie also has water-base paint pens. I use them too. I like the oil-base ones the best (for this type of project) because the paint is shiny when it dries (a nice contrast on a matte background.) Thanks for watching! Have a great day. :)
