I was never trying to disrespect or come off as an asshole at all. Once again, I apologize & thank you to the people who are commenting for educating me on the Islamic religion. Love always! 💙
As a Muslim women speaking I don’t think you disrespected the culture or the religion purposely, I think you were just saying what you were told by your friend, sometimes we(as in Muslim people) still learn new things when it comes to Islam bc there are variety of beautiful and really cool things to learn about. Some people might take it as offensive but I just think they just took it to the heart. Instead of them pointing the finger and commenting rude shit they could’ve just commented something educational correcting you. But thanks for bringing up ISLAM in your podcast❤️

I agree. Definitely when it comes to relationships, females, and how to handle " jealously". I have a bad habit I'm trying to change but I think it's due to not knowing how to act as a normal female lol if that makes any sense. I'm way too jealous but I do want my space for sure yet my man can't have without me lol 😅

Hey, giving the money to the bride is not a culture thing its religious. It is not just giving the money to the bride it is more for the brides safety in the long run. Just one example if your friend were to leave his wife one day and leave her with nothing (since technically he is the provider) she has that money to fall back on. Obviously there’s a lot more to it and why we as Muslims do certain things. Islam is really misunderstood nowadays so just wanted to give you some information about it.
Yes and you also have to think about the times these traditions were created - back then women really needed that safety because they didn’t even know who they were marrying so it was a security thing for if the guy ends up being a wife beater for example…so they can get out without having to go back to their parents (which was also not an option)
And in the video he said it was for the brides family… it’s not.. it’s for the bride. Also it has to be within his means and what he can afford!

JCook girl is absolutely correct, there are different variations of prenups. You can alter it to fit your exact specifications. There are prenups that are basically you split everything 50/50 or prenups that’s you only leave the marriage with what you came into the marriage with. I am married and we don’t ask permission bc we are grown adults but we have respect for one another and you should be able to hang out with your friends alone.
