I will post Part 2 of my Ecology course on March 23rd at 9 AM! Please comment on something new you've learned from this video.
Thank you for the class, Ed! As a former aquarium hobbiest, I was aware of the nitrogen cycle. I was not aware that PH changes so dramatically with every increase or decrease in number. I usually get stressed when my pond PH pushes 8.5+, even if I dont see any signs of problems. I guess I'll just try not to worry about it as much. Looking forward for part 2!
Looking forward to part 2!!!
Excellent tutorial. Superb!
Thank You!!!

Hi ed love what you have done inspiring a whole generation in a new way of designing aquatic ecosystems. Id love know in your opinion Is sandstone a viable rock for use in ponds are does it break down too fast in water? Thanks
Thanks for your feedback!
I routinely use Sandstone in water features but you need to test the hardness of it.
Certain types are softer and they will crumble over time.
Where are you located?
@@EdThePondProfessorthanks for the speedy reply. What level of hardness would you reckon is adequate for fully submerged sandstone and are you going off the Mohs scale?
I am based in the midlands in the uk. Stoke on Trent. I’ve had a lifelong interest in aquatic ecosystems and have done aquascaping in tropical fish tanks for years but am currently wanting to build my first pond in my back garden. I have also been asked to rebuild an old formal koi pond of a family friend and another friend has asked me to build a natural swimming pond on his farm. My local rock is mostly sandstone and I have a local quarry I can get the stone from at a great price. They also mill the stone so there is the option of combining raw and processed stone in projects to unite formal with natural. Looking forward to getting started and feel confident after watching literally 100s of hours of you and others building ponds
Excellent loved the lesson
Thanks Professor!

Spelling error in your slide show? Is that a test to see if we are paying attention? 😂
😂
What was it?
4:15 “Sceince” at the end of the Ology sentence.
