What’s New in the Core Elements of Hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Programs, 2019

The Core Elements outlines the structures and functions associated with successful stewardship programs in a framework that can be adapted to any hospital. This 2019 update to the hospital Core Elements reflects both lessons learned since 2014 as well as new evidence from the field of antibiotic stewardship. There are seven Core Elements of Hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Programs: leadership commitment, program leadership, pharmacy expertise, action, tracking, reporting, and education.
