I am a creative in my personal and professional life. As far back as I can remember, creating art was one of the main pillars that made me ME. As the years and decades stacked up, art remained in my life but morphed. In college, I was at the height of being expressive (maybe mostly because I had more time and unjaded, unlimited energy). I'm lucky to have a job where I still get to be creative and "make things" but it sucks the energy out of me daily and I'm left with little time or motivation to make things for me. On top of that, what I create for clients needs their input in the proofing process and it's now taken a role of 95% of what I create, I need approval from an external force to get the OK that the creation now hits the mark. In a sense, it's external validation. I've worked so hard over the years in this capacity that now, in my early 50s, I don't even know how to make time for my art anymore. I don't know how to set myself up for acting upon inspiration that comes through. Sometimes this is very strong and I get very depressed seeing that another day has gone by, another cool opportunity to seize the inspirational waves that I'm receiving has fallen victim to the day, and another pocket of free time was wasted away tapped into social media or Netflix simply because I just want to be lazy and be entertained after having my creative well drained by others. I feel like I've lost my grip on how to create for me and how to make (productive) time for myself in the world of art.

Many people these days seem to have trouble separating artistic liberty and freedom of expression with what's really happening in the 3D, outside of the few minutes of someone's art being displayed on blinky screens.

Ren is the master of letting us look through the window into his thoughts. To your point, we all have the different sides of ourselves that help us deal with whatever stress comes at us. DEXTER even talked about his "Dark Passenger", and I feel like in this video REN is letting us see his dark passenger through his art. He articulates it with words, music and visuals. We all connect with REN because he allows himself to be vulnerable in front of us....and we can relate.

This is a great reaction. There is so little content about how to express valid anger in a healthy way and to support that anger is a normal reaction to things like having your boundaries breeched like Rens were.

I’ve been in therapy for years and didn’t heal much until I found my therapist who does parts work. Parts work is difficult but I’m finally working through things and healing. Ren’s music also helps me a lot, he’s the first artist that get’s it. 💙
What is parts work, if you don't mind me asking you? I've done therapy & the one who really suited me moved and the only left in the small town Im in don't cover trauma therapy, so sometimes watching these reactions helps me deeply, in navigating through my own trauma & trying to heal & I always appreciate learning useful tools along the way.

Great reaction and analysis. I've fought with this angry part of me my whole life but never found an outlet for it and always suppressed it. I'm a little jealous of Ren that he's found a way to channel it. Having the people in white representing the Bulgarian choir was a nice touch too.
I found this for me... I have parts that are scared to let the anger express itself. That's why I had spent most of my life looking for an outlet. Try drawing, it is a safe way of expression. My sacred bits find this outlet acceptable.
going to the gym try martial arts or exercise in general good way to focus that energy into something positive. Helped for me.
I agree with that interpretation of the Z choir being the Bulgarian Choir from which KujoBeats stole the sample. But it can also be the public especially his fans who are watching this drama unfold. Remember Ren likes multiple meanings which each individual viewer/listener interprets.

I think most people can relate to this angry, intrusive part of our existence. After having many difficult periods of life, I have become much better at not sweating the small things.

I think it’s important to note that the first part has dark ren asking permission from his light side. Asking him to take off the leash. It really highlights how good at the pendulum dance he’s gotten and has himself in hand and is fully in control of his Sam and light sides and has learned how to harness the dark to benefit himself as a whole ❤

I've seen so many reaction videos on this track from people who's whole thing is rap music. But you're the first I've seen who seems to really get what I feel is the essence of this track.
It speaks a lot about the depth of Ren's work when it takes a therapist to truly understand what he is doing.
This is what hip hop culture is all about. Putting all your negativity and anger to the pen and a track to keep the violence from being physical. It is what drew me to hip hop as a kid and probably saved me from getting shot before I graduated high school.
Todays generation seem to have forgotten that. Nowadays everyone takes everything seriously. With the advent of social media and the internet, beef between two artist or people doesn't stay personal anymore. Now millions are chiming in on which side they support.
What I love the best is the very end text. This is art. It is not bullying a producer and his girl. It is Ren letting out his steam in a safe way. Now that he has done it, he can go back to creating more art without having all these feelings and emotions weighing him down.

Found Ren though my therapist but have used HI Ren when teaching IFS. Love it. As a therapist I love the internal battle with sense of self.
I've watched a lot of reaction to this today (after watching the original video of course), and a quote from a Doctor Who episode keeps running through my head: "Demons run when a good man goes to war." You a good, patient, tolerant, compassionate person is pushed to far and decides to fight back and let that anger and frustration out, even demons are terrified. This is a good example of that, i feel. Ren is a good man, filled with so much compassion, but there is only so far anyone can be pushed.
Love that you started out trying to be "good" and pause and react... but as soon as he brought "kujo" kai out, you just gave up and fangirled like the rest of us!

I discovered Ren from your videos literally within the last week. His poetic lyrics are beautifully poetic. I watched Ren's video about Kujo and was surprised that it was "fresh". I feel bad for artistry when greedy leaches get involved (looking at you too MPAA). I created a Band Camp account just to buy Ren's songs.

One of the greatest joys of being an artist is feeling the Process itself at work, the allowing of one's concept of My-self to step aside a bit to let the Process/the Art proceed on its own momentum through our bodies. Artists who realize they are conduits for a creative force greater than their finely honed skills are truly empowered to express that mysterious Force. Ren channels that creative artistic force magnificently. Some artists paint, some dance or choreograph, others write, some artists sing and compose music or play or conduct instruments. Human art has limitless expressions. We're so fortunate that our favorite artist is allowing his internal creative force to flow through him into the manifestation of such an astounding production that coincidentally happens to be massively entertaining and an extremely important teaching scenario. What a marvelous opportunity for the artist and for those lucky enough to experience what the artist has created.

I’m so glad someone else picked up on the this isn’t “hi ren part 2” and noticed it was a battle with himself again. What I like is that he shows that the dark side was choking out the light side when he says “last time hope prevailed” basically him saying last time I lost (dark side) to hope but this time idc I’m coming out to handle this situation

I love what you have to say about expressing negative emotions. Bottled up emotions always surface eventually usually in unhealthy ways. I really wish everyone had an art form in which to express themselves. You don't have to be good at it to express yourself. Write a revenge story, stab some paint onto a canvas, throw some clay around. It all feels good and you might be better at it than you think
You should start making therapy sessions with Ren. The way you explained everything from Ren's perspective is very accurate! Congrats 👏👏👏
