About Sanford And Son: The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

Back in the days when these shows were new episodes. The whole family was watching and enjoying the show. There was only one tv in the whole house. I have those memories today even watching by myself.

I always imagine living in that house, during that time, with Fred. The living room looks so cozy and the scenes at night really remind me of the houses from back in the day that had character.

I always said the same thing! I wanted to go up those stairs so bad, lol! That house looked like you would sleep so good, nice and warm in the bed waking up to the smell of collard greens or bacon cooking on the stove.

I miss those days. They were fantastic. Then soon after, some people decided to get stupid, and then not teach their kids the right values, and now people don't like or trust anyone, and todays music and tv shows, mostly suck.

The reason they don't eat on TV like that is because if they eat all the food and the have to do the scene over again, they'd have to replace the food they ate and that gets to be expensive.

You really can't blame Lamont. He always wanted to be something better than what he was. Lamont wanted to be a sophisticated business man. Always reading the stock market and the business section of the news paper, while Fred was comfortable where he was. I think a lot of us can relate to Lamont. Wishing for more but nobody around you supports your vision. Not even your own parents.

Well my dad lost twice in the stocks, one time 100k second just a couple year's ago 25k, it's gambling. I can't afford to lose 1000 dollars no thank you gambling is a risk, like betting on the ponys or the lottery
@@m42037 Well key words here is "Sophisticated Business Man". I don't know your dad, not saying he isn't one, but most business men have Stock Brokers who invest their money for them, which is their profession. So its not like gambling on the horses, at the local track.

In the first few seasons of Sanford & Son, Lamont was more grouchy, while Fred was more passive. In the later seasons Fred was more grouchy, while Lamont was more passive.

I think they removed Sanford and son from Starz. I'm not sure but 2 days ago I searched for it and nothing popped up
Along with Knight Rider. I've seen every episode countless times since the 80's but I enjoy watching them again and again everyday. Luckily, I've DVR'd my favorite S&S episodes and watch them often.
Eating a good breakfast that made me go inside the kitchen and cook grits eggs bacon sausage and coffee ☕ and slurp funny show my favorite.
