Both corpswade and sand of silk is in the major announcement. Corpswade makes bodies you step on into a poison cloud. And sands of silk makes your dodge roll into a blink instead.
I wonder if the cloud counts as an ailment? I suspect not, which would mean it could be supported by the new Swift Affliction. Something to note on the Cast on Ignite gem shown. It's level 14, and it has 26% increased energy generated (suggesting 1% increased energy generated per gem level over 1) and has maximum energy equal to 10 per 0.13 seconds of base cast time. This suggests to me that the maximum energy goes down as the gem level increases, which implies that the higher your trigger gems, the more often everything is going to trigger.
@@sirgog Thanks. I'll admit I originally noted it because 26% increase and 0.13 look similar, but a little thought showed that they couldn't scale the same way (maximum energy would be 0 at gem level 1 if so).
My guess is it's 2% per level for generation, and -.05 seconds of base cast time per level. So a level 1 gem would be 0% increased generation and 10 energy per .2 second cast. Level 2 takes it to 2% increased and 10 per .19 seconds. Every second level lowers the cast time value by an extra .01 seconds after the first OR level 1 value is .19 and it increases every second level starting at lvl 3.
@NTelling Maybe my math is off, but if maximum energy scales like that, wouldn't that be increasing maximum energy as you gain, which AFAICT you don't want? Example: you have a 1.0s cast time spell linked to this gem. That would mean, as speculated, that at level 1, you would have 50 maximum energy. At level 2, if you go to 10 max energy per 0.19s of cast time, you would end up with over 50 maximum energy, right?
@@NemisCassander Yeah you're right sorry, I didn't read that very well the first time through. Unless there's a hidden reason to scale max energy or requirements to level the meta gem up, then I'd say your prediction will be pretty accurate. Though I think the energy generation is 2% per level, as that would make it 0% increased at lvl 1, which seems logical.

RE: Plague Bearer I would expect that "Stores 6% of expected Poison Damage" doesn't affect your up front damage in any way, it just tells you how much is going in your 'poison bank' for you to unleash later. "Expected" would relate to damage before monster resistances mitigate or amplify your actual damage, not "damage before you take 6% away to keep for later". Maybe not? who knows, we'll find out shortly.

I'm assuming that "non-ailment damage over time" would refer to things that operate like Caustic Arrow puddles, Toxic Rain spores, Cold Snap, Vortex, or the burning/caustic ground from Alchemist Mark, etc. A lot of these newer support gems are pretty neat.
In the reveal, they showed the persistent buff gems for sorceress, and Blink was on that list, which means absolutely anyone can access the dodge roll to teleport conversion. i expect it will cost mana to teleport this way.
20:50 I was under the impression active block would be a shield skill, so that is disabled. And block all hits meant you can passivley block attacks, spells and aoe I think your interpreation makes more sense, having a unique that you can equip at level 21 giving a free 75% spell block chance (if the block caps the same).
16:18 new plague bearer looks like it might be able to inflict poison itself depending on how that stored poison is unleashed in a nova (can the nova hit?). If that is the case, you would need to inflict 17 poisons with plague nova to recoup to 100% of the stored poison damage from each activation. There is no incubating / inflicting verbiage is why I think this might be the case.
on the topic of enemies dealing too much damage: this reminds me of the now infamous "bleed dog" in elden ring. For the unaware, there was a dog who was errantly recording dozens of hits whenever it attacked, causing it to (sometimes) deal literally tens of thousands of damage to players who would normally have 1900hp at endgame. This stuff happens. Expect it. Don't be too angry when it does. Just let the team know.
Wildshard Supports fantastic! I am not sure anymore if we have Barrage or Barrage Support in poe2, but I wonder how these would inteact with wildshard. They change how additional projectiles behave, so would the 8 additional projectiles get added to the barrage? I can't wait to see! Also in case I miss it, congrats on making it to 42k!
I think a lot of these new support gems are nice, since we can't double/triple up supports. One thing to mention about that EA screen, it seems to be simply for preloading/unlocking it in library if you have steam or epic linked to your PoE account, it does not mean you have access to EA. It showed up for me and I was around $10-20 below the threshold.
Archmage is keeping the recent change to not require the mana being spent to get the extra damage. This means that if you can get free casts it'll still work. it might be possible, that the crit chance modifiers are now additive and flat. that would make it a bit easier to understand. ive had friends who missunderstood this and thought a diamond flask makes them crit every time. so in that case, 14% would be equivalent to something like 200% in poe1 (assuming 7% base crit). based on my knowledge, the crit damage is also not crit multiplier but more like an addional amplifyer. if you add the 17% from the staff to your 400 multi you get basicly 68% crit multi, which is quite comparable to poe1. i personally think that it doesnt matter anyway, we will find out ourself on 6th :3
@@DemCheeks666 I went to my PoE account, and there's an option on the right for PoE2 Early Access. I've been clicking on that ever since the reveal and it always said that I didn't have access. This morning, I went to that screen and saw the same thing that sirgog showed on his video.
You're going to have 180 spirit (before passive tree and equipment) so 100 is large, but not backbreaking, the amount of damage you get in return is 100% worth it though.
I could be wrong but i think "on step" as a teigger is new. Maybe this is meant to differentiate between movement that is skill based like flicker or flame dash like skills? Maybe rolling doesnt activate? Probably not important but a little tidbit i thought was interesting.
23:30 I disagree with that due to the addition of Arcanists Etcher, clearly they are adding specific currency to improve specific items, arcane vs martial. I'm sure there will be a specific currency for sockets on arcane gear
I'm also wondering how this ties into the factions that are within POE2, is one specifically martial vs one specifically arcane and how would that look in a future league designed around them, because I'd love some team on team stuff
I might be going mad with the theorycrafting already..I was thinking of a making a witch and going into the horde playstyle but this has me thinking about an archmage combo with flame walls and trinity using some cold spell (assuming that's all in PoE2)
You do a great job summarizing the information, but sometimes I need a quicker way to access it-especially when I only have 1-2 minutes between meetings at work. Having something like short, reel-style content for those moments would be really helpful.
I've tried making shorts (RUclips's equivalent of reels/tiktoks) but the amount of work is just unmanageable. Recording them on PC is surprisingly hard. Editing and rendering is a nightmare.
33:27 that's ironic to see increased movement speed on an item about an event horizon phenomenon. At the event horizon of a blackhole time is at a standstil so your movement speed, at least from everyone else's perspective, would be vastly reduced :')
Hi great video as always, is there a place where someone can check every information and leak on items, tree and classes so far on poe2? Does poe2db have a section about it?
One notable thing about difficulty 4 Jonathan mentioned though is that he is a programmer so he starts counting at 0. So I took that as there being 5 levels of difficulty that apply.
yeah was going to comment that as well. He mentioned that there might (but there wasnt) a hidden way to get it to +6. at east at this stage of early access
Yeah, 0 is the "base" encounter. you then can add +1 to it to reach +4 difficulty (meaning there will 5 stages of diff). Going above that (which is technically possible atm) will change nothing about the fight and rewards.
The biggest thing that I noticed was that a lvl 20 gem in poe2 requires a character to be level 90 instead of the level 70 that’s required in PoE1. And in comparison a level 30 gem in PoE1 would take a level 90 character
Losing money on black friday on certain products is part of the deal, it's to get people to buy your other stuff as well. Doesn't really matter if you do or don't just wanted to add my 5 cents. GL
Sweeeeet my account is confirmed eligible for the lifetime p2w entry method. Haven't gotten an email yet but the website said it and it checks out with my own prior maths, so I'm gonna take their word for it. Feels a lot better being able to just play the game for a bit before paying. Probably dumping a truckload of cash on it shortly after anyway because lets be real, a hidehout getting dragged through the desert by dinosaurs is something I'm not gonna be able to resist forever... But just that little bit of having the free playtime and then being able to decide myself to keep supporting them as I always have just feels better. Added bonus I get to give away the spare keys to the community if I'm already in anyway.

One reveal that I am not sure about is Jonathan mentioning runes couldn't be unsocketed. I'm not sure if this means you can never overwrite the rune mods on an item (by say destroying the runes and reapplying new ones). If so, this sounds pretty bad. The point of runes is to fix small weaknesses like not being res capped, and having them locked would completely defeat that purpose. You wouldn't be able to hot swap some small cold to fire res if you say got an upgrade that unbalanced your resistances.
I would expect 'Can block damage from all hits' doesn't overwrite the red unblockable rule, more likely hits from all sides I'd guess so you don't have to face the attack maybe?
Will added cost from archmage be scaled by support gems? I mean the wording is the same as in poe1, it's a buff now not a support gem, maybe it changes smth And another thing we see: gain % dmg as extra lightning dmg. There is no "non-lightning" in wording, so I assume lightning damage also gets multiplied?
Do you know if you need to claim your key for the Steam Client to be able to use the standalone client, or would you need to wait for that to become available?
If you get the email/note in your account preferences for POE1 you will be able to log into the POE2 standalone client on EA release without any additional steps. If you want to use the steam EA access as well you have to redeem the given steam key. This way you can use either standalone or steam client on EA release. This steam key cannot be gifted since it is "tied" to your GGG account.
Some of the things you are showing already exists on footage but I guess a person cant watch ever single video and know everything on his own. For example the Decompose boots exist in a video and the big damage poison arrow too (the one that builds up to 240%). Otherwise the content is top notch you have +1 subscriber!
Can block damage from all hit, Doesn't this mean that it will be possible to block spells, attacks, AoE, etc., and not just the attacks themselves? If my theory is true, that mean this like of text is OP as hell and any block base build will play this.
They don't multiply. If you have 20% of all damage as lightning and 30% as chaos, and do 1000 chaos damage, you get 300 bonus chaos and 200 bonus lightning
I dont know how GGG can do this. I went from 'i dont care about poe2, maybe i'll watch a little when released' to 'i must play it immediately'

it might be possible, that the crit chance modifiers are now additive and flat. that would make it a bit easier to understand. ive had friends who missunderstood this and thought a diamond flask makes them crit every time. so in that case, 14% would be equivalent to something like 200% in poe1 (assuming 7% base crit). based on my knowledge, the crit damage is also not crit multiplier but more like an addional amplifyer. if you add the 17% from the staff to your 400 multi you get basicly 68% crit multi, which is quite comparable to poe1.
i personally think that it doesnt matter anyway, we will find out ourself on 6th :3
It's music to my hears hearing you saying "Path of Exile 2 discussion", we are close!
The scavenged plating is probably pretty good for mercenary I think they have a rapid fire armor break skill that would ramp stacks super fast
Thanks for what you do @sirgog, I would subscribe multiple times if I could.
Decompose was teased in the reveal video, I believe they said it does poison damage in an AoE around your character.
Never too much sirgog on my feed
re: quality on wand/sceptre/stave quality on an item that is giving you a skill on implicit may grant the skill quality
Just checked and got my lifetime support key🎉😊
Same.
Where do u find out?
@@DemCheeks666 I went to my PoE account, and there's an option on the right for PoE2 Early Access. I've been clicking on that ever since the reveal and it always said that I didn't have access. This morning, I went to that screen and saw the same thing that sirgog showed on his video.
me too , hell yeah
@@DemCheeks666 both email msg and msg if you log onto poe website and check messages
You're going to have 180 spirit (before passive tree and equipment) so 100 is large, but not backbreaking, the amount of damage you get in return is 100% worth it though.
Correction: GGG absolutely confirmed the Ulmatium boss is the Trialmaster.
Wildshards looks fun, interested in seeing higher level versions of the gem, I am considering using it to trigger the summon raging spirit gem
Raging spirit is a spirit reserving buff now that triggers on casting a fire spell. Don't think you will be able to socket buffs into buffs :)
pretty sure soul core of thunder is from the LA event when sockets were a vaal only thing and there were only soul cores and no runes or basic sockets
Nicely done thank you, I have a question about movement, in POE2 will we be able too use w a s d keys instead of the left mouse click?
I love the sound of your keyboard
My prediction for caster weapon quality is that it acts like gem quality for the skill it provides
December 6 is so close!!
I might be going mad with the theorycrafting already..I was thinking of a making a witch and going into the horde playstyle but this has me thinking about an archmage combo with flame walls and trinity using some cold spell (assuming that's all in PoE2)
Yeah so much to think on
You do a great job summarizing the information, but sometimes I need a quicker way to access it-especially when I only have 1-2 minutes between meetings at work. Having something like short, reel-style content for those moments would be really helpful.
I've tried making shorts (RUclips's equivalent of reels/tiktoks) but the amount of work is just unmanageable. Recording them on PC is surprisingly hard. Editing and rendering is a nightmare.
or u can just watch in segments......
33:27 that's ironic to see increased movement speed on an item about an event horizon phenomenon. At the event horizon of a blackhole time is at a standstil so your movement speed, at least from everyone else's perspective, would be vastly reduced :')
17:55 pob goblin... hes onto us
Technicality: -13 isn't actually a prime number. Negative integers cannot be prime. Outstanding video though and I really appreciate all your content.
Another thing to note, the Lightning staff "Requires: Level 90." Is that the highest level requirement we have seen?
Hi great video as always, is there a place where someone can check every information and leak on items, tree and classes so far on poe2? Does poe2db have a section about it?
First? Thank you for the content. Best place to get poe 2 news for those who aint got time
oops, someone pinged you on first AND this is a long video so not for poeple without time :)
@sirgog still shorter than all the podcasts. Thank you :D
@@rhodan74 Yea that makes sense.
The biggest thing that I noticed was that a lvl 20 gem in poe2 requires a character to be level 90 instead of the level 70 that’s required in PoE1. And in comparison a level 30 gem in PoE1 would take a level 90 character
scavanged plating: it says 4 to 6 THORNS per stack, not damage. we don't know what is the damage of "1 thorn" and if that can be increased.
Losing money on black friday on certain products is part of the deal, it's to get people to buy your other stuff as well. Doesn't really matter if you do or don't just wanted to add my 5 cents. GL
thank you!
Where do you see that you are eligible?
The email came later for me
@@spencers1485 on the main website for poe1 go to your account and view Path of Exile 2 Early Access on the menu on the right. It tells me I'm elligible and allows to to claim a steam key to put the game in my library.
Aren't the corpswalk boots and sands of silk chest the uniques they revealed in the big reveal?
What are those books in the background? 👀 I can't quite make out their titles.
Bunch of Pathfinder 2E ttrpg rulebooks, and Will Wight's Cradle series (the Kickstarter editions)
Could be either way, probably we wouldn't know untill we test
Will added cost from archmage be scaled by support gems? I mean the wording is the same as in poe1, it's a buff now not a support gem, maybe it changes smth
And another thing we see: gain % dmg as extra lightning dmg.
Draught = draft as in draught beer, not drought 😅 I'll, be going clarity to try to mitigate the less mana regen from new MoM
Some of the things you are showing already exists on footage but I guess a person cant watch ever single video and know everything on his own. For example the Decompose boots exist in a video and the big damage poison arrow too (the one that builds up to 240%). Otherwise the content is top notch you have +1 subscriber!
subtitles on youtube are great. Path of XL 1 and path of XL 2 lmao
I'm torn between clarity and rejuv tbh, gonna make a mana stacking caster to start off... hopefully theres a way to swap them out.
Still trying to work out whether Cast on Ignite will build energy when minions cause ignite... Tempted to say possibly not but I'm not really sure
Pretty sure you linked the wrong forum thread in the description
Oops. This is now fixed
@@sirgog Thanks!
Nice. Archmage monk start is a thing
it is spell damage only, keep that in mind
Just got my EA key, so I would expect it everyone to have theirs within the next twenty four hours
Can block damage from all hit, Doesn't this mean that it will be possible to block spells, attacks, AoE, etc., and not just the attacks themselves? If my theory is true, that mean this like of text is OP as hell and any block base build will play this.
What is an example of non ailment damage over time? How do you do DoT without an ailment?
Fire damage over time like RF, cold damage over time like cold snap ground component.
@@brandonwalker5011 imma be honest i thought that was an ailment
how does archmage interact with "% lightning dmg as extra chaos"? which applies first? extra chaos and then archmage or other way around?
They don't multiply. If you have 20% of all damage as lightning and 30% as chaos, and do 1000 chaos damage, you get 300 bonus chaos and 200 bonus lightning
Nice!
I wonder what the 20% quality is doing on the staff, given that it has no damage code.
Speculating +20% spell damage, but I do not know.
Gog is Pog!
