This song really tears me up
This song chokes me up so many times, tears forming and streaming down my face. Forest is a treasure to the music industry and I'm happy I found his songs starting with this one. ❤

An artist makes creations that make someone feel a way...some way.
Forrest Blakk is one of my favorite modern musicians.
This song actually hit every single characteristic of my recent female protagonist for my book series.
Her name is Rebecca "Ryn" Lynn. Her friends and coworkers in the UK call her Ryn, but she has a very strict rule that nobody except her life-partner can ever call her "Becca," since that's what her late parents called her.
But Ryn likes pop songs and dancing, and bad trash tv. She also likes those few other things. She loves love notes, and babies, and likes giving gifts. We learn why she has a hard time accepting good compliments; as well as the fact that she loves her whole family and all of her friends...
She was verbally and mentally abused by her aunt growing up, as well as "mean girls" at her school growing up. Her parents were killed in a severe accident while out shopping for party supplies on her 18th birthday. Because of her abuse, she blames herself for their deaths.
She suffers from severe depression, and just after graduating uni with a business degree, she sells her parents' house and moves back home to the UK. She doesn't like being alone, so she goes to adopt a pet, which turns into two pets, because she finds two cats - littermates - who can't be separated. So she takes them both to keep them together.
She has her own severe car accident just a few months later on a routine trip back from the vet. The guy responsible is droving one of those big delivery trucks, and destroys her car. The impact leaves her with a very obvious scar across her forehead, crippling trauma, and one less cat.
Present day, four years later, she still has flashbacks if the surviving cat, Dumpling, yowls at her, because of the sounds that happened during the event.
But her boyfriend is the sweetest, most patient, most loving guy. He's the one who really teaches her that she's pretty, no matter what anybody else says; that the one she gives her heart to (who repays that gift with his own heart); the one whose arms she feels safe in; the one she loves more than anything; the one who loves her most on days when she feels like her whole world is caving in...and the one who brings her back to God.
This is the first Forrest Blakk song I heard, and actually I heard the version he did with Meagan Trainor.
Ever since, I've loved everything I hear from him.
It's such great stuff!
It also fits the relationship between Ryn and Aleksei so well...
"Wildfire" isn't exactly a song, but the words are so inspiring, and they again fit Ryn so well.
She does have issues finding the strength to get out of bed and continue to struggle through days she wishes she wasn't struggling through.
But when she finds her strength - her fire - she pulls herself up and fights on, because there's people who would find themselves struggling if she wasn't there.
Point being: Forrest Blakk rocks.
He is a real and true artist. I honestly freak out when he releases something new.
